  • My machine was dripping oil on the trails from the belly pan. This is the problem that I found. I want to share this with you guys because there is no solution. In my opinion, it is a bad design on the manufacturer side. Please let me know if you have the same issue, what the solution is. This is unacceptable in many ways.

    I have this same problem on my Arctic Cat xf7000, same like this Viper and wondered what the heck is leakin from up to own and messing the hole sled. Thank you Ralph for this video, this will fix the problem 👍

    Just found mine leaking oil all over when we were out on the trail today. My airbox and everything looks the same as yours. I never got over 60 kph today. First ride of the year. It is ridiculous.

      It's more than ridiculous it's unsafe I had oil on my brakes it's beyond b*******

      @@RK777PL my dealer thinks it's the rollover valve sticking open. I've rode mine a few times since. It leaked a bit one of the rides. I just packed a couple liters of oil in the sled in case it gets low. Other than that I've lost the will to care.
      Yours must be worse than mine though cause my brakes aren't getting covered.

    I'm having the same issue with my Nytro's Genesis 1056 and almost think it's my oil viscosity being 0w-40 instead of manual's prescribed 0w-30 that expands 60cc p/Liter at operational temp... but I could be so wrong. Please let me know what you find out

      So what I end up doing is something I'm not proud of I had to route a hose to that silver aluminum hose from the engine from the top I routed it nicely next to the frame and it's basically going on a side of the snowmobile next to the exhaust about 3 in away on the bottom out by my right foot on a floorboard and yes it's drips outside whatever collects I guess but I no longer have an issue with my engine being dirty my clutch is being dirty burning oil smell and big clean up ever weekend basically it's going outside instead of the evap box and then back into the engine I think I lose couple ounces per trip I would estimate 4 oz for every 200 mi that I do

    I have a 2016 with 420 miles on it and oil is pouring out of my air box so bad it’s almost ran it out of oil. This thing drives 2000-3000 feet per day. It has never leaked oil and 2 days ago on warm up it went from not low to almost out of oil in less than 15 min.

    I have a 2008 Yamaha vector, same issue. it ends up pooling in my air box. I bought it used and it seems like it’s been happening for years.

      Keep the oil level low I keep it on the lowest mark

    How did you removed the air box …
    Like pretty hard even if i remove all the screws…

    • @RK777PL
      @RK777PL  Před 2 lety

      It's pretty simple you just have to disconnect the three clamps that go into the air intake to the engine and it will come out there is also two more screws in front with the radiator hoses you also have to remove the radiator I use the clamp that's connected by the bumper that way I can just swing it over to the side without totally removing it

    • @RK777PL
      @RK777PL  Před 2 lety

      Yes you have to remove the airbox to clean it all up I end up running a hose from that silver aluminum hose out by the engine mount underneath the muffler straight to where my feet would be with a chain case is and I dropped it down through one of the holes in a black plastic plate right below the chain case so it's spilling a little bit over there I noticed it's no more than a couple drips at a time so it's perfect I solved the problem maybe not the right way but better than nothing I also no longer have oil on my brakes which is totally unsafe

    • @RK777PL
      @RK777PL  Před rokem

      They're screws holding it from the bottom you can do it you also have to disconnect the clamps from the intake it's not hard at all take your time

      @@Joakim_Aksdal honestly I'm super upset about it I'm going to ride this machine for another 5,000 miles and then sell it I vent the oil out with the plastic tube all the way down by my feet sticking out about an inch or two by the chain case is dripping a little bit of oil when I ride but I don't care it's no longer going in the airbox and all over my engine and snowmobile I think it's embarrassing for Yamaha to make a design so stupid
