    I appreciate the dedication you have to promoting freedom & the lack of ego you have in talking about the things you went through. Don’t stop, the next generation loves you ❤

    The first question ‘are people happy?’ took more than 1 minute + a 15 seconds ad. I’m not sure if this is how interviewing works

    You are such a beautiful, strong, empowering person. I thank you so much for sharing insights into the way people’s lives are drastically affected and controlled in such an isolated country.
    I hope that one day the citizens of North Korea are able to overcome this isolation and have the opportunities to experience love and actual happiness.
    Your videos humble me and remind me to be grateful for the many things most of us take for granted.

    Every night before I go to sleep, I pray for North Korea to be free. I am not related to North Korea to any kind, but I believe that god can save this broken down country. Best regards from Germany ❤🇩🇪

    For those of you saying shes not from North Korea.... Just LOOK AT HER AND THE WAY SHE LOOKS .... She is very pretty from the inside and outside.... But shes so tiny...(no i am not body shaming a North Korean escape girl)

      I understand what you’re saying. She’s so tiny because of malnutrition when she was a child. I love Yeonmi and appreciate her speaking out about the dangers of communism.

      She is teaching you the dangers of dictatorship. Communism and socialism have very little to do with what is going on in North Korea.

      I was only casually curious but I found out the answer for both of us. I'm using an Android and I clicked on the the description header in heavy black print, "This is Life for the Average Person in North Korea..." and it opened up to show the full video link there. On my computer below the same header title, and just below her picture that opens up to provide her details, is a grey rectangle on my computer screen that has the hyper link highlighted in blue. I hope that you are able to find it in a similar fashion if not the exact same way. I needed to know also and now I do.

    How and when do you know you want to escape if you don't know your oppressed?

    • @joycepray1132
      @joycepray1132 Před 9 měsíci +2

      It’s called starvation. She escaped to maybe get a bowl of rice. She even says she probably would have never left if she wasn’t starving and thought it was risk her life for food or starve to death. Hard to understand for people who have never been long without food.

    • @viewtube51
      @viewtube51 Před 9 měsíci +2

      @joycepray1132 The whole country is starving and has been starving. When was her aha moment. And how does she know the rest of the world isn't the exact same. And to make sure your whole family understands oppression when they don't know their oppressed?
