I want this man to be my adoptive grandfather. What a warm and affable dude.
Dylan Murphy There are a few things for how to learn Italian
Decide precisely why you wish to speak it
Try to use Italian everyday
Decide which process works for you the best.

When I saw him it made me think of my grandfather. I miss you Gramp
This is the best ever hand gesture explanation I've seen; it made me smile and laugh and feel at home. Grazie mille, Signore Caurucci!! Viva l'Italia e l'italianita!!
Grandioso 👍🏻😂😃
I love this guy he make you feel like family. God bless him.
Many Thanks, Maria

Lei in particolare è davvero simpatico, gran bel video! Cari saluti :)
The instrument is the "neapolitan mandolino", and the song, probably you reconized it , is "' O Sole Mio "

This was so endearing. I grew up with a Sicilian step-father and he would speak just like this. Watching this really reminded me of him, and I miss it greatly. Grazie mille, Signore Caurucci!
Is always beautiful revive good memories. Ciao
This man is a good story teller, also he is very warm & genuine.
Oh Carlos, I can't thank u enough for sharing these hand gestures. My mom had me at the age of 19 then decided she wasn't ready to be a parent so young. She literally dropped me off in a hand basket (with a note) at the front steps of my grandparents home. Little did she know my grandfather (age 60 then) had retired 2 weeks prior so he was there to answer the door.. to her surprise! My grandmother still working as a night nurse (20 yrs younger than pops) could not care for me during the day so this left me to bonds with my gramps. I weighed only 2 lbs. at birth (1962) which left me with some minor health issues, I was lucky considering. One of those issiues was that I was deaf which nobody realized until I entered 2nd grade which was probably due to reading lips and my grandfather's sign language/gestures. What more did a girl need! LoL My gramps was my heart and soul.. I loved his stories, I loved how he cooked for me.. and also taught me, I loved the things he shared with me and no other. He served in world war 1 and 2 never speaking of it to anyone else. He was born in Sanborno, when he joined the army he never saw his family (large family) again. I was blessed to have him until the age of 30 (he was 98) when he told me on his death bed that I was the biggest blessing in his life and he'd never forget me. Thank u again Carlos, just your voice alone is such a comfort to me. ~Shine~ from WA, State (spouse to Mike Lee)
Dear Michael, English is not my mother language therefore I am not quite sure whether I will be able to express all my gratitude to you for sharing with me and my friends your marvellous and moving history. It should be as an inspiration for all people who had everything in the life and have not your enthusiasm and your grateful sentiment.Inspiration for me, as grandfather, is your gratitude toward your gramps. I am also cooking for my grandson and I will try to give to them the same love you received from your beloved grandfather and I hope to be remembered in the same way. Please write to me any time you desire to do it. I will be happy and honored to have you as a friend and I am sure I will receive from you the strength to look more positively the life. Thanks Michael. Please, give my regards to Mike. Ciao!!!!
+Michael Lee what a lovely rememberance !!!!!
I'm learning Italian right now and this helps a lot
I listed the individual gestures (for reference), but I'm not sure the exact words of 1:51, 7:10 and 7:34.
1:23 What do you want? 1:25 Why? 1:28 To eat. 1:32 I think. 1:36 Are you scared? 1:41 Many people. 1:46 You're crazy! 1:51 1:56 I cannot stand it. 2:02 Delicious! 2:11 Wait! Stop! 2:15 I swear! 2:18 Slowly slowly. 2:21 Cut/Switch off. 2:25 I will kill you! 2:29 I will beat you! 2:33 I'm hungry. 2:38 Straight. 2:41 This and that. 2:44 So and so. 2:48 I forgot! 2:52 What did you say? 2:56 Get to the point! 3:01 You must go! 3:07 I don't care! 3:11 Let's go! 3:15 Blah blah. 3:19 Beautiful. 3:23 Perfect. 3:29 I beg you. 3:32 To sleep. 3:36 What do you want? 3:40 I surrender/I give up. 3:46 Exchange. 3:50 Let's hope! 3:55 Enough. 3:59 I wash my hands. I am not responsible. 4:08 You... lucky. 4:13 Desirable woman. 4:18 They have an agreement. 4:24 They're married. 4:28 They're close friends. 4:33 Of course! 4:39 To insist. 4:43 It's written. 4:50 You're crazy. 4:55 You're smart. 5:00 I have an idea. 5:04 Listen! 5:09 Pay attention/Be careful! 5:16 Cool! 5:22 Delicious! Yummy! 5:28 Half! 5:32 After. Before. 5:38 Very tiny. 5:42 Damn it! 5:49 Very fat. 5:53 To eat spaghetti. 5:57 Drink water. 6:02 Drink wine. 6:08 Espresso. 6:14 Nothing. 6:18 Money. 6:20 How much is it? 6:25 To stay. 6:29 Hard-headed. 6:33 Walking. 6:37 Going upstairs. 6:39 Turn it on. 6:43 I'm crazy. 6:53 If I [could] catch you... 6:57 To prevent the bad things. 7:06 Let's go. 7:10 Complicity. 7:16 Negation. 7:27 You're wife is cheating you! 7:34 7:38 Go to hell! 7:44 Despise.
1) "do you make a fool of me?" He says "do you wanna dumb me?"
2) "complicity". it comes from the italian saying "acqua in bocca" (water in mouth) that means you must do as fish do, keep water in your mouth and don't talk
3) he says "tre" that's actually the number 3. Doesn't really match with hand gesture which is supposed to mean "ti faccio un culo così", literally "I turn your ass like this" that means "I'll beat you up, I'll kick your ass". The reference to number 3 could be from neapolitan and southern culture
GRAZIE
1:51 sounds like "you are a dummy". 6:39 sounds like "turn around" which is how he uses it later in the direction part.
6:25 to steal
1:51 it’s “you’re dummy”
7:10 indicates “complicity”
7:34 it’s a “threat”. This one it’s similar to the one for “you’re lucky” (just the facial expression and the violence of the gesture change) because they are mimicing the same thing: an ass. In italian to say that someone it’s lucky it’s used the idiomatic phrase “(lui/lei) ha culo” that literally means “he/she has ass”. And a common and generic threat in italian it’s “ti farò il culo” that can be roughtly translated as “I’ll fuck your ass” or “I’ll beat/kick your ass”. It just means that he will somehow make you really regret to have ever met him.
Troppo troppo simpatico!!!
E' gratificante ricevere tante gentili parole, tutte insieme. Accetto e ricambio l' abbraccio.

Beautiful! Loved the demonstrations at the end......You have such smiling eyes.....:)
Thanks Kathy for the lovely comment
A genuine Italian godfather... :)
Mr. Calro, I'd like to thank you for this beautiful video... and I want to tell you that I'm Egyptian, and 70% of these gestures are already used in Egypt. :)
We are connected!
AWWWWWW the sweetest Italian gestures' course. He's so lovely!
many thanks for your comment
Ricambio abbraccio
The sign language is a language created on purpose to allow deaf-mute people to express themself in an articulate codified way.
The sign used differ from country to country, although a global code exists. The Italian hand gestures meanwhile came to life spontaneously as an effort of the people to enrich spoken communication, make more precise statements. In Italy it's used widely by non deaf-mute people in every day life communication. A sort of helpful tool to underline specific situation and moods in an expressive way, to say things that should not heard by others in a subtil and elegant way, or as a way to comunicate in loud chaotic situations
Bellissimo signore. Grazie mille. Saluti dalla Serbia.
I am taking my 3rd trip to Italy, I love this country and its people, BELLISSIMO xoxo
Patricia , you all the time welcome to Italy. Buon Viaggio !!!!
I'm from australia, and I just want to say that the Italian accent is so beautiful to listen to! I hope to visit Italy when I get older =)
He's charming and so funny too.
"If i will catch you, i will ....
This should come in handy in a few months. Viva Italy
idk why but i really love this dude
i come here and watch this this video when im happy and really relaxing
I'm a university student from Egypt who's planning to visit Italy, and I randomly found this video today. This is so beautiful to watch. 10 years later it's still very helpful and inspiring ❤❤❤ Grazie mille!
This video was wonderful - I loved it! As a child I remember some of my family members making a few of these gestures and it brings back lovely memories. People have teased me (jokingly & sweetly) that I wouldn't be able to talk if I couldn't move my hands. I never realized just how much or why it was so much a part me - it's in my blood - and I'm proud of that. I would love to research and find my Sicilian relatives and hope to visit Italy some day. I know this video has been up for some time now, but I just wanted to say thank you kind sir.
Your comment was wonderful and your words so alluring. Many thanks. Ciao!!!!
Grandissimo...
Grazie
Great video. I live in Italy and I have seen nearly all of these expressions daily. I love this place!!
I will try to get the DVD "Visions of Italy"
Thanks for the suggestion and for the comment
Good luck with your Italian
Ciao -- Carlo
I spent 3 hrs in Napoli once awaiting a train transfer on the terrace of a cafe. I saw more traffic infractions in those 3 hrs than I have in the last 24 yrs since then here in Canada. LOL. Love everything Napolitano. Their music, their songs, their inventiveness, their pizza quattro stagione, their Sofia Loren and my favorite song of all time all genres confounded, sorry Elvis, Frank and Beethoven; the beautiful ''O Sole Mio''. Lunga vita a lei, signor Caurucci e grazie per quest lezione.
Che persona fantastica! Mi ricordi molto mio nonno, venuto a mancare qualche anno fa, siciliano.
What a great man! You remember me my grandfather, who passed away a few years ago, a true Sicilian. You also remember me a lot of people from South Italy, it's like listening to a character (a mask) from the Italian Opera!
Ti ringrazio. Buon Anno. Un abbraccio
Perfetto! Grazie mille, signore!
I love the way you guys talk!
He reminds me of my Napolitano Grandpa. His tone of voice sounds like him, but my grandpa had a Brooklyn Italian accent. ❤
Lei e` simpaticissimo !
Viva l'Italia!
Wow Catherine!!!! Your generous and flattering words made me filling great. Many thanks
Love the hand motions. Grazie!!
LOVE this! What a wonderful presentation! I have saved it to watch again and again, soon to return for three months to Italy and my Italian girlfriend. Grazie mille!
this guy reminds me so much of my grandpa lol
Nic one day, hopefully, that’ll be you.
Love this Guy!!!
Grazie!
This guy is great - I love watching this. It makes me feel at home. Bravo!
This is perhaps the most charming video I have ever come across. This is instructive, entertaining and fascinating at the same time. How did you put together so much into a 10-minute video. Facial expressions, timing, vocabulary all of them combined with a pleasant demeanor. Thank you so much for this. This is brings a smile, every time you watch it. God bless!
BRILLIANT! I have to click 'like' on that! It got funnier as the video went on. I could listen to you all day!
Fantastico!
Meraviglioso!
Italians should create the universal hand language for everybody :-P
Video è eccellente. Molti saluti da Serbia! :)

Grazie tante ancora
Sig. Aurucci, complimenti vivissimi!!
Love u granpa especially ur history😜
Lol i LOVE this video. If you could be my live teacher i would certainly pay for lessons :)
That was a wonderful demonstration. Grazie!
Finalmente!
i'm in tears ♡, such a meaningful video
Love it! Bravissimo Carlo!

This is crazy because I grew up in a very remote part of the Appalachain Mountains and have never even been around anything Italian but I recognized almost all the gestures and have seen them my whole life. Wow, I realized I could go to Italy and communicate with my hands only. Grazie from America!
Bravo Zio, Ben fatto
