"Sometimes you're a dragon, sometimes you're a bunny"--Nic Cage, saying the most Nic Cage line ever, but also a quotable truth about life.
"Sometimes you're a dragon. Sometimes you're a bunny."
I felt that.
Sometimes you gotta put the bunny back in the box
“My uncle had to talk to the studio” oh, you mean, the director of the Godfather movies and Apocalypse Now, Francis Ford Coppola.
Subtle
Yeah no biggie !!!
Some power of persuasion right there, I’d say.
He made the studio an offer they couldn't refuse
I’m glad his uncle did that, because cage is one of the best actors ever.
Nick Cage speaks so eloquently. Loved this interview.
This is probably Conan's most professional interview. He seemed truly interested here.
Yeah Conan was like a fan of Nick’s!😂 He is a favorite great actor although! Still looks fabulous them Italian stars!🤩🥰
Well every actor comes in to promote. Here Cage, an artist first actor second, was so involved in discussing his art he had to be reminded to promote his film. Both of them are real artists, dying breed. Now all we have is minions of power doing social engineering.
conan knows he's lucky to have him as a guest.
It’s nick cage bruh….. the thespian 🎭
Seems? He is.
Nic has to be one of the most original actors in cinema. So unique.
Nick Cage's "Goodnight, Lois" got me lolling pretty hard. So Good!
ME TOO, ROFLOLMAO!!!🎉😊
According to Nick this was the last time he was on a late night show - until this week (on Kimmel) - which is hard to believe. He was in 2 great movies last year.
He was at least on Craig Ferguson's Late Late Show inbetween, in 2010: czcams.com/video/18RI4sFfkgo/video.html
He said his last talk show was 14 years ago. This was 15 years ago.
he was too busy making shitty movies, thought this was common knowledge.
@@JorgWobblington Dave's show promoting Ghost Rider
I think he was on Craig Ferguson between the
Peggy Sue Got Married is such a wonderful movie. Nic is great in it, and I think the voice works because his character is such a vulnerable guy. I never even thought his character was even comedic, but the movie itself is sad, funny, and brilliant all at once. His uncle is such a genius.
one of my all time favs
I still regret the studio not casting him as superman. I think it would have been a very cool take on superman.
He still got to voice him in the Teen Titans Go movie at least
@@rhetiq9989 That's cool I didn't know that.
it would have been terrible but it would have been worth it for the culture
you may know this but he named his son Kal-El which is Supermans real name he was given on Krypton. Cage was downplaying that situation with the movie not being made,,it was a huge deal when it fell thru and kinda messed with Cage for many years
@@cBodhi Yikes. I didn’t know he named his son Kal El- I hope that was before the would-be movie and not after the fact.
He never returned afterwards, such a shame! Nick seems like a chill guest.
Wow, that's hard to believe!
Maybe he didn’t like Conan’s Nick Cage Terror Level joke from a few years back saying he has a bunch of awful movies
I think he simply stopped going on talk shows altogether. He was on Jimmy Kimmel recently and said it was his first talk show interview in 14 years
They reposted it cause he was just on Kimmel.
@@1BergerVongSchlauigkeitHer Probably because he have a new movie out.
Coco and Nic Cage, there can be no better combination.
Banana and custard.
@@perriponders289 I love how Schlansky goes on a rant on Conan needs a Friend about his ego and brings up interviewing Olyphant. So Funny
all wrong. best combination is Conan and Bill Burr, no doubt about it
Nic Cage is Ghost Rider. 🔥
He'll always be.
Keanu I'm sure can give him a run for his money
@@himynameisfeli (sigh)
he has that bigger than life aura, the interviews are like watching a movie
The Pokey voice kills me 😂
Pokey voice
Thank you for the love and support, Tell me how long you have been my fan ❤❤
@@NicolasCage274I’m not your fan. I’m a fan of the real actor.
@@oceanadrianne where do you live?
@@oceanadrianne this is my private account where can we have a good conversation?
Lord of war is probably a favorite movie of mine. Cage was so good in the movie, almost made Jared Leto bearable.
I just realized that this isn’t a recent interview, but from 2007. They spent five minutes talking about Nick Cage’s extensive acting career, and he’s had another dozen, at least, since then. He’s even starring in a new movie this year in 2022.
Are you not familiar with Conan? This is from Late Night, which went off the air in 2009.
He’s been in wayyyy more than dozen movies since 2007. He’s in 2-5 movies a year.
He got into a series of legal issues and huge debts after this interview. Only this year had he managed to pay off all his debts, that's probably why he started to appear on talk show
He’s been gutsy since day one - that’s what makes him the goat.
He’s also very much a bunny - & everyone loves bunnies!
That "Put that bunny down" scene has a deeper meaning now
@@HABO2210 "Put the bunny back in the box" you mean?
This is one of my favorite interviews!
Thank you for the love and support, Tell me how long you have been my fan ❤❤
Red Rock West.
My favorite Nick Cage film seemingly nobody has ever heard of.
It's a must see.
"My uncle had to talk the studio down..."
Uncle: Francis Ford Coppola.
Never thought I’d be fully entertained and obsessed with NIC SAYING BUNNY! Now I gotta rewatch Con Air
Lost in the sea of boomerhood, I've just now realized Gumby's legs represent bell bottoms. Thanks for saving the clip Conan.
Hello Margaret, how are you doing?
😊
Thank you for the love and support, Tell me how long you have been my fan ❤❤
The best actor ever.
You got to love Nicolas Cage.
Absolutely love nick cage I love his energy 110% into EVERY MOVIE 🎬!!
He's definitely a National treasure..
1:20 "next time gummy" lmao
My all time favorite actor. Kevin Costner is epic too but something about Cage is just so entertaining…
Gumby plays an Firebird! 👍
Conan, this is madness. You are on fire here. So wonderful to watch
Nick is hilarious man. Good interview 💯
Cage is just so brilliant, good stuff!
Sometimes you're a dragon, sometimes you're a bunny - best life wisdom
Nicolas' Pokey impression is great
Cage is so much a different person when he's off screen. He's nothing like any of his characters, interesting. The way he talks is just vibing
Nick Cage lives in another dimension haha
I guess you can say after he found out about the Korean year of the dragon, he got to put the bunny back in the box
IKR?! I’m surprised none of them made a con air reference 😊
One of the best moments of this interview (and there are a few) is when Conan does Superman with the Gumby voice, and you see Cage light up a moment later and join in, and then Conan lights up. That's just raw fun.
Sometimes you're a dragon, sometimes you're a bunny.
I was a fan of the Gumby show too. Lmao 😂
Thank you for the love and support, Tell me how long you have been my fan ❤❤
I saw Nicolas Cage few days ago in Kimmel Live and he's super nice guest! I hope to see him more in late shows (plz don't go to Fallon)
Conan's team saw it too which is why we got this classic clip today.
He was just on Corden too with Aaron Paul
why don't go to Fallon ?
Mandy is a must see
Clean cut at the end there.
Nicholas Cage is so talented, funny and charming. His voice reminds me of the very first sip of a perfectly chilled sweet wine. Yeeeessss!!! I love him!
Probably my favourite actor ever- so diverse
Great Actor Nick Cage
Cage could hold a masterclass in charm.
Omg Nick Cage is hilarious in interviews! He seems like a great guest!
when nick does that voice he sounds like quagmire haha
Vampire's Kiss is probably my favorite Cage movie.
That movies fucked ahaha
Cage is an absolute dream
Ghost Rider is unironically an incredible movie.
After this, every subsequent Cloppy segment began with the Cloppy intro punctuated with Nic's endorsement from this interview -- "who I really love is Cloppy the Horse".
Wow.. when I was like 4 or 5 my parents bought me a Dog and I remember naming it "Pokey" lol...
For years and years I've always remembered it as a name I just thought up but I used to watch Gumby a lot growing up and I completely forgot Pokey was the Horse.... I must have got the idea from the show.
Goes to show how fickle a memory can be lol.
You’re great 😂
Cage put the. Bunny back in the box
God i love the guy 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks 😊
Man I love this dude.

Conan is best around.
Sorry watch graham Norton
Wow! According to Google, Nick made about 103 films so far at age 58 years old.
High praise
Omg, the dragon bunny thing happened to me too, at 33yrs old lol.
Gonna rewatch Ghost Rider just because of his description
I sometimes like to think aboht his performance in Raising Arizona and think... Oh yeah, this is THAT GUY.
Wow his first role is against the bullies. Love you Nic Cage !
My favorite is the mini car chases. It's tied with the horse.
Love Raising Arizona! Maybe because it's so different.
He does a similar voice in Army of One
He appeared a lot on talk shows nowadys..conair😍
Cage is a National Treasure.
I would love you see Cage interview with Jeff Goldblum. The chill vibe would almost be too much coolness for our space-time continuom
John Travolta as nick cage as castor Troy as Shaun archer
In Vietnam calendar he would have been a Cat😂
I see his face and Ghost Rider comes to mind
Just watched Peggy Sue Got Married again last week. Such a cool movie.
Nic cage is a national treasure
Nic Cage is a legend.
Cage is great
I love that to him he was acting but to his would be aggressors he was just psychotic. Haha
Hi Cage i truly loved your new movie. Thank you so very much War Lord take care!!!!!!! Hi O'Brien take care!!!!!!
Mandy was a sleeper, didn't see that coming
We all should embrace our inner dragon
He’s the best
It’s hilarious that bunny is actually sandwiched between two of the coolest zodiacs out there: tiger and dragon. It’s like life is playing a joke on you for look at what it could have been 😂😂
It's not two coolest signs.
What ever you say professor chinese@@NecroOver
😂 😂 04:24 "I said put the bunny back in the box"
Dragon:
Characteristics: Lucky, flexible, eccentric, imaginative, artistic, spiritual, charismatic.
Thank you for the love and support, Tell me how long you have been my fan ❤❤
Love Nick Cage? Watch 80's Racing with the Moon. You get Sean Penn too.
Well now I know who just rocketed to the top of the podcast guest wishlist
Huge missed opportunity! After Nic realizes that he was actually born in the year of the dragon he should of said, "I decided to put the bunny back in the box!"
You gotta like nic cage. He so hilariously weird its entertaining
Hey, that's the cool guy from 'Valley Girl!'
hahaha when I told my bf he's in fact a bunny he got so upset... and I'm a dragon
Nic Cage is a much better actor than many of the hollywood "big names". He doesn't just play himself doing another job like a lot of oscar baiting actors do.
I would have loved, if they'd made an alternative version of Lynch's "Wild At Heart", with Cage using that exact same voice. That would've given this movie a different spin entirely, LOL😂
His greatest role was In Valley Girl .
My dad’s nickname was Gumby. Most everyone called him that.
Can't wait to see him play ghost rider again
6:22 Thanks Nicolas Cage for sending me on a Cloppy binge, it has been a few years.
Nic is a great actor. Him and Conan would make a great comedy team.
Did anybody catch that he said he worked 3 days in a row?..lol 😂😂😂
