  • Gray Zone Warfare can be rather confusing for new players to learn! In this video, I'm going to be explaining how ammo works in Gray Zone Warfare, what Dispersion means, what the best ammo type is for each caliber and so much more. Let me know if you have any questions! I've added chapters to this video so feel free to skip around. Leave a like and subscribe for more! Thanks for watching.

    Dispersion of minus signifies (AP) armor piercing. The lower minus the more AP. A positive number is for impact rounds like hollow point. It has nothing to do with accuracy that is the MOA (grouping) of the rifle. At least you got the velocity right.

      @@scipher99 I'm not going to argue with you as you have all the credentials I'm just going to say that I respectfully disagree with you and here is why:
      I think the game does interpret dispersion as an accuracy(MOA) modifier , all the muzzle attachments has dispersion modifiers in Gray Zone.
      Notes:
      1) As you probably already know AP usually has stricter accuracy (MOA) requirements compared to HE/other in military applications. This may explain why AP ammo has less dispersion that hollow point etc.
      2) Dispersion in some parts of the world always refer to accuracy (MOA/Mills) and not performance after impact.
      3) I'm not saying the devs are right and wrong in their implementation but dispersion in game refers to a accuracy modifier.

      @@neil5587 Damn, my dude what a very nice write up. After talking to a few of the Devs on their Discord I think they were leaning towards how you explained it, but they oversimplified it IMO. So easy answer Is Dispersion with minus values have higher penetration and plus values are like HP rounds where they dump all of the kinetic energy on impact. Accuracy is tied in but has not been fully implemented in game yet to dispersion. It is exciting to watch the game develop in early access and to be a part of it. Again, thank you for the amazing info I enjoyed exploring the links.

      M855 Green Tip is very good but M855A1 is even better! There needs to be NIJ Protection Level IV armor in the game, one day.

  • @rabidpanda88
    @rabidpanda88 Před 4 dny

    This is categorically wrong. Dispersion is armor penetration value. MOA is what affects the accuracy and that's based more on barrel length and weapon type than anything.

  • @iPsyte
    @iPsyte Před 28 dny +3

    Dispersion=Spread/Expansion, as hollow points have the highest spread after they hit the target, as they mushroom and shatter when they hit soft targets, but have terrible penetration. Soft point rounds also spread, but not nearly as much as hollow point with low pentration still. Armor piercing (depending on the hardness of the jacket or core) has the least dispersion because it penetrates after initial contact instead of spreading. Nearly everyone I've seen try to explain dispersion has gotten it wrong.
    Your gun accuracy is related the MOA stat. Go check out videos of the actual rounds being used on steel targets.

    • @walterwilmoth8390
      @walterwilmoth8390 Před 22 dny

      In real life yes. In this game dispersion is tied to accuracy. The attachments modify dispersion so that Is why he explains it this way. But real bullets I won't concur with you.

      Find any real world test on “dispersion” and it’s measuring the accuracy of a round or how shotgun ammo spreads.
      In game muzzle devices also give +/- dispersion which would indicate it does not refer to how a projectile expands on impact.
      Your rifle can be X.XX MOA, but the ammunition you fire out of it has its own accuracy characteristics.

    • @user-xt1sc4qg6l
      @user-xt1sc4qg6l Před 16 dny +1

      @@walterwilmoth8390not even in real life. In real life almost everything I’ve ever read about dispersion when discussing ammunition has to do with where shots land on target versus point of aim.
      Also, shotgun ammunition. Dispersion is used to describe how the pellets patten/spread over distance.

    • @iPsyte
      @iPsyte Před 16 dny

      @@user-xt1sc4qg6l it has to be tied to both slightly because the more the round expands, its also more accurate with higher expansion. And also in-game, even though the muzzles have dispersion stats, the barrels dont, and we both know there's a massive accuracy difference between a 10.5" barrel and a 16 inch barrel.

  • @BeckJoseR
    @BeckJoseR Před 28 dny +2

    Great work on the video. Just want to correct something.
    Dispersion is how much the bullet "breaks up and deforms" when it his the target.
    An armor piercing round wouldnt deform, therefore it goes through the armor, but does less internal damage.
    A "hollow point" deforms a lot. Meaning it wont go through the armor, but it will do a lot of damage to the body

    • @user-xt1sc4qg6l
      @user-xt1sc4qg6l Před 16 dny

      Dispersion isn’t related to how a bullet expands or fragments on impact.
      Dispersion is related to how accurate the ammunition is or in the case of shotguns how the pellets disperse. This is why muzzle devices in game have +/- dispersion as well as ammunition.
