The oil flows much easier when the engine and oil are warm. Both methods work. One method just takes more time. It is much easier on a lawnmower because you can use a larger tube. Good video. Thanks.
Very helpfull and easy to understand!!! Thank you, it helped me to do it myself today
Cheers mate i used a 3d printing 2.85mm ultimaker 2 bowden tube. Much stiffer amd doesnt fold in on itself. Job done!
Best video I seen so far thank you. This was more realistic to what happened to me. It was only half a quart.
Thank you🙂
How many miles did you run overfilled?
Brilliant idea just done mine,,, instead of the syringe I used a washing up bottle the trigger type ,, works a treat
Great idea🙂👍
This is a great idea
The oil needs to be hot to get its out
@@paulmalone1208it…. Doesn’t. It’ll flow better yes but it doesn’t need to be hot
Take the filler cap off first!
Yea i should have
5:38 best method
Yes, i think so too
messy
When facing resistance with the syringe, you should not have pulled it harder. Doing so will make the flexible rubber tube collapse on itself. Instead either try to pull it with less force, or with a pulsatile action (pull and release, pull and release)
Also, pinching off the hose, disconnecting, squeezing out the air, then reconnecting should help since there will be less air to expand when pulling a vacuum.
Pulsatile ? Interesting. That is a word. lol😂 it’s.. identical to pulsating as they’re both adjectives. It seems it’s used in tinnitus as well to describe a kind of it, which, coincidentally, I’ve felt. Anyway to your point I think he eventually did lol I was thinking of using a valve so I can turn it to stop the flow and use it to get more pressure.
Another reason to buy yourself a Fumoto valve!! I love them
Very nice This will work Thanks for sharing
Because there was just a little too much in it and I didn't feel like draining it, I used a soap dispenser pump with a hose attached and pumped it straight into a bottle.
Thats good
What a great idea. I have only overfilled like half a quart. But im stressing over it. 3rd oil change.
Did you have to prime the pump or the hose? I am worried about taking a used soap dispenser and possibly contaminating the oil.
@@carlosfontanez9804 I made sure all the soap was out by pumping water first. And I got a new hose that I attached because the one from the dispenser was too short.
thanks for confirming that fastest way is via the drain plug my man!
It's working. I took the cap off first. Then used syringe tube to suck it
I have no luck extracting any oil using this 1/4 inch tube with a syringe, I'd make sure that the tube reached the bottom part of the dipstick hole but no luck...any recommendations what should i do?. The end part of my dipstick is flat
Thanks bro
Thank you 🙏🏽
Thank you for the support🙂
This vid helps a lot. #Thanks
So glad🙂 thank you
after trying the useless tube rout, i ended up removing the oil plug. much more effective . but pain with sentra cause it's so low and you need a jack just for that.
Open the oil fill cap. I think that would reduce the amount of suction?
literally the only smart mf here
I normally loosen it and lift up the dip stick as well
It works I had to do it today, it took a while but I did it.
Thats great!🙂 so glad it was helpful
how to it for bike ?
Is 5mm above the maximum ok ?
Great video!
What could happen if overfilled by 1/2 to 3/4 quart, and left alone?
Does it leak or cause damages?
It will can leak into the egr system and cause it to clog up
Tried to find some kind of siphon or pump where a very SMALL (1/4 ) tube could be attached to that fits the very small diameter dip stick tube on my 2005 GMC Canyon. Never figured all this BS could be such a hassle. So tomorrow morning, I'm going to jack up my truck and drain the overfill into a clean oil pan and wipe the mess off my hands with a Rag...Needless ceremony ended &. job done......
If there was a y split in the line i imagine this wud be a lot easier to get it directly into a cup
Yea, unfortunately it wouldnt pull the vaccum unless it was like a one way valve of sorts...best way ive found so far is warming up the vehicle..it makes it easier to pull the oil up
spay bottle Cap best method,, Just attach pipe to Spray cap .. just spay into empty bottle 😂😂😂
You did not pull syringe 2 max needs be pulled to max back an fourth I had no issue plus the pipe need s hit bottom then pulled up a bit
How remove engine oil from truck 12 thanks
It would be the same way or from the drain bolt
Why is it so dark if it’s new??????????
same question ? i m guessing dirty engine ...
Where to find this pipe 🥲🥲
From any aquarium shop, it works good easy idea, mera engine oil 250ml extra tha, meine aaj kiya 👍
Have a new used car I added half a quart of oil to that did not need. Not due for oil change for another 3000 miles and oil is clean....but overfilled now.
Half of quart over is where i would rather remove the extra oil than leave it in. Cause the potential risks outweigh the removing half a quart
@@backyardchevy328 I had it drained and is now where it's supposed to be. First, I took it to a Mr. Tire and was told it was a little over and wouldn't harm anything. I drove two days with it like that and kept worrying about it. Then I took it to a Walmart auto center and they took it out no charge.
@@heatherprincipe9972 yea its better to have peace of mind and not worth the risk...glad u got it back to where it should be
*comment for the algorithm*
Thank you, i really appreciate it🙂
Also running engine for 10 min before starting process can speed up suction.
Very good tip..i should have tried that
Well, it will cost you a drain plug gasket if you do it right.
My mom filled my car up too much now I gotta drain it before picking up my gf tomorrow... lol
Lol well good thing u caught it..was it a lot past full?
@@backyardchevy328 yeah its past full what should I do lol
@@backyardchevy328 about to go out hehe my mechanic lives down the street
You want have your syringe lower than the dipstick
Man I wish I would of watch this first bc I wasted so much time trying this method.. waste of time just drain the pan and save the money and oxygen
Why can’t you just open the drain bolt a little and let some seep out it is so much easier
Yes it is lol..it was me trying to see if there was an easier way..but unfortunately draining some through drain plug is best
I myself don't have the environment to do any under car activity since first live in an apt. complex.
@@heatherprincipe9972 of course you can. Just do it fast, be clean about it, and if anybody asks tell them the birds poop on the property, it is not minded so why mind that there is NO oil stains on the property. If they get upset tell them if it's an oil stain they want your friend Harley and his crew can surely handle staining the place.
I can’t fit under the car and it is not comfortable. Hopefully this works. But I have overfilled just by 0.1 quarts. Is that a problem?
@@PeterSchneemann it is not comfortable? Try putting 4 and a half jacks under it jack it up then purchase an air mattress with a little fan and some heated comforters. This way while you are nice and cozy under there for the 45second task, you can also take a nice long snoozey as well. Don’t forget your alarm clock! I even keep a microwave and entertainment center under my car whenever I need to turn a bolt. Even have my bolt turning pajamas. What are you a fairy?
That hose is way to small
Got my hose stuck! Don’t do this!
when my hose stuck for 2 seconds... my heart starting to pump quick but in the end unstacked. measure the length of dipstick and how deep you can risk to put the hose. Putting hose in the engine is not a safe solution ,,,, what did you do with the stacked hose?
Just do an oil change.
Oh yes, because when we literally just did an oil change and everything is new, it makes sense to pay for it all over again instead of remove the excess.
lol this is literally how not to do it. just take the sump plug off and gravity drain it.
Lol well it was a trial to see if there was a quicker easier way, but yes its better to just drain it
A Half a quart will NOT Hurt anything!!!
