2023: A Year of Trains in Review

- Happy New Year! Thanks, everyone, for joining me for another fantastic year of train videos. It's now time for the annual Year of Trains in Review video where I go back through everything I filmed in the last year and show you some of the highlights. 2023 was another super busy year. While I didn't venture much outside the state of Washington the first few months, that quickly changed. In May, I made another big trip to California, covering several different passenger and freight railroads. Then in June, it was off to Minnesota and Montana for a look at Amtrak, Iron Ore trains, and the Montana Rail Link. Shortly after, I went on a few short trips to British Columbia in Canada. My biggest filming excursion of the year was in July and August, taking me all the way across the US to the Northeast and into eastern Canada. I finished off the year with another look at a few steam tourist railroads in Washington State.
As a reminder, the 2024 Year Update and Q&A video is hopefully just a few weeks away. This year was a roller coaster for me, in other words, one of the best ones! 2024 is bound to be a big year for us all, especially Amtrak

@@CoasterFan2105Hey I Had for Announcement Today Let me tell you some Good News THE AMTRAK GULF COAST CORRIDOR IS BACK ON AMTRAK SERVICE IN 2024 The Amtrak Mardi Gras Service is Intercity rail planned Gulf Coast Corridor Limited between Mobile to New Orleans Today Like stop 4 Mississippi Station like Gulfport. MS Pascagoula Close to Mobile Alabama Biloxi MS and Bay St Louis on March 2023 amtrak referred to the new service simply as the Gulf Coast And Reiterated that two daily trips route will begin in fiscal year 2023 and June 2023 amtrak is running test trains along the Corridor and continues to make an agreement with CSX Norfolk Southern and Amtrak to Start the First Quarter of 2024 They name the train Called the Mardi Gras Express in August 2023 the $200M Federal grants they announced just over $178 Million dollars money of the Gulf Coast Corridor on the Southern Rail Commission project improvement Partnerships to $500,000 Grant in December 2023

2023 has been a great year for railroading. Railfanning was great in 2023 too. Now Rail Preservation has been picking up in 2023. Its been a long and wild ride in 2023. That's a ton of trains you caught this year.

Mike happy 2024 & also have you ever been to the North Carolina Transportation Museum located in Spencer NC because I might be going there for my 9-year work anniversary in late August of 2024 to early & early-mid September of 2024 that’s on my 2024 vacation list is to visit Alabama Georgia Tennessee South Carolina North Carolina Virginia & West Virginia in late August of 2024 to early & early-mid September 2024 & have you heard about the Cass Scenic RR’s Heisler #6 that’s at the Cass Scenic Railroad & finally where’s former LS&I 2-8-0 #18 at now a days
