In this video we check out the new PT2c, a 2 foot tube light that is the update to last years T2c. With the PT2c coming in at $100 dollars more, is it worth the extra price? We love the T2c over here and use it daily so it's going to be some hard competition. For more info on both, Aputure affiliate links are down below⬇️ Thanks!!

why is nobody mentioning that these are half as bright as the T2c?

Thank you! I was just about to ask! I’ll keep saving for the T2C! Need it for a key in a confined space.

Great video!, What is the maximum number of pt2c that can connect simultaneously?

Thanks so much Yahir! I am seeing 12 lights for one sidus app but I thought you could have up to 100 back when I made this. I have gone up to 10 units on one Sidus app controlled from an iPhone 13 and it worked out great, it's a good ecosystem to try out. Good luck and thanks for checking out the video and nice comment✌

I would really like to know how different the light intensity is between the pt2c and t2c.
The t2c is really bright at 5500k but underperforms with RGB color modes. I have a feeling that this lights performance is the opposite.

Hey there Cody! The PT2C's maximum luminous flux is 721 lumens, and the lux at 0.5m for 5600K is 647 lux. The T2C doesn't provide lumens, but the lux at 0.5m for 5600K is significantly higher at 1621 lux. This indicates that the T2C has a higher light intensity. The PT2C has a maximum power output of 11.5W, while the T2C has a higher power output of 20W. This further correlates with the T2C's higher light intensity. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching and the comment!

@@TheFloodLightShow I'm not sure that you have the correct wattage rating. The T2C's power brick is rated for 60w and 11.5w is abnormally low for a production light.
That aside, I just want to know if the PT2C's RGB performance is better than the T2C because the T2C really lacked in that metric. If the PT*C series doesn't exceed in RGB output then I don't see good reason to purchase it over the T*C series lights for my use case.

@@SimplestUsername Your observation about the wattage ratings is noted. It's worth considering that the power supply capacity doesn't directly dictate the light's output or performance. For RGB capabilities, while the PT2C offers a broad color temperature range, it's not explicitly stated that it outperforms the T2C in RGB output. Based on your needs, if RGB performance is crucial, I recommend testing these lights in your production environment to gauge their true capabilities. This hands-on assessment will ensure you select the best light for your specific requirements. Hopefully you like the T2C because it's $100 dollars less. Sorry I don't have a 100% answer for you!

@@TheFloodLightShow Yeah, I'm just a little frustrated about this light. I'm sold on the Aputure Eco system. I've found a lot of reviews reguarding this light but non of them compare the light output with the previous model. My primary use case is split between use as a rim light for studio photography and a DMX enabled theatere lighting boom for dance recitals. Very unusual uses.

@@SimplestUsername I know the feeling man, there are a lot of flavors to choose from these days, I fall into the paralysis/analysis hole all the time. Not sure where you are picking these up from but B&H and Adorama have a pretty good return policy, they want you to be happy with your purchase also. Good luck Cody, sounds like some fun shoots you are doing!
