Other Adjustments
Single-Minded Fury no longer increases damage dealt but now increases movement speed by 15% (up from 10%) and reduces threat generated by the Warrior by 10%.
Blood Frenzy has been redesigned. Now increases rend damage by 100% and causes Rend to gain increased damage equal to 3% of attack power per tick, and Rend may be used in any stance.
Flagellation has been redesigned. Now causes the Warrior to gain Rage from physical damage taken as the warrior was wearing no armor.
Rampage has been redesigned. Now instantly increases the Warrior’s attack power by 10% for 30 seconds and no longer stacks or costs rage to activate. Requires being enraged. 2 minute cooldown.
Wrecking Crew now causes an enrage effect that lasts 10 seconds and increases damage done by Mortal Strike, Bloodthirst, and Shield slam by 10%.
The threat reduction in Gladiator Stance is now 30% (was 10%)
Consumed by Rage now activates when exceeding 60 rage and now always lasts 12 seconds regardless of the number of attacks, but no longer grants a damage bonus.
The Booming Voice talent now increases Battle Shout duration by 30/60/90/120/150% and reduces its rage cost by 20/40/60/80/100%.
Commanding Shout’s rage cost was removed and its duration was increased to 5 minutes.
Recklessness now increases critical strike chance by 50% (was 100%) and the duration is reduces to 12 seconds, but the cooldown is reduced to 5 minutes.
Retaliation and Shield Wall have had their cooldowns reduced to 5 minutes (was 30 minutes).
A new baseline ability has been added from a skill book: Meat Hook
Throw out a hooked chain to restrain the target and pull them towards you. Costs 15 rage, 30 yard range, and has a 35 second cooldown. This may not be used on enemies more than 1 level above the Warrior or which are marked as “boss” enemies.
Warrior is #1 class with alot shit modified runes in SoD phase 4
Idk why they are realy hate warrior so much?
Warrior is the best scaling class in classic and SoD. However, it is also the weakest class with bad/medium gear/buffs/raid composition.
Example: I played with my dw fury war with 3 world buffs (DMF, Songflower, ST), mongoose elixir, str elixir and even got a WF totem in my party. I struggled to do 700 dps on bosses.
Example 2: I played with my ele shammy with ST buff and consumes equal to my warrior's, no particular raid setup and did 800+ dps on bosses without breaking a sweat.
Conclusion: I do think that warrior might have the strongest dps in raids, WHEN they have chugged every consumable in the game, got every buff in the game, has the perfect raid composition and the boss has every single debuff in the game. However, this only applies to 1% of guilds and not the casual players. For casual players, warriors are super weak right now.
Furthermore, if you want to look at the current statistics, warrior has the highest minimum to maximum gap in the game right now, while still being beaten by rogues and enh shamans: sod.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/2009

Well so far I’ve got 1200 darkmoon tickets for the epic neck. I’ve got my rank 7 level 60 gear enchanted and the AB & wsg gear sitting in my bank waiting to be equipped. I’ve got 30 prequests, 99 commendations and 20 marks of honor for ab & wsg with some additional silver coins in the bank just in case we can buy more commendations and after popping ours on Tuesday prior to the launch. I’ve also got timbermaw exalted and argent dawn honored. Last but not least, I’ve got 3k gold. All that I can think of now is to farm gold, but maybe there’s something else I could prep. Any thoughts?

The T1 4 set for Mage has me theory crafting spec/rune combos like a madman, I love it.
it's cool for theorycrafting but it feels like it forces you to play a certain way. what if i just want to blast fire spells
Fire is going to clap with overheat and will be the best mage spec so by all means, toss them fireballs.
Unless they change the bosses resistances in SoD, Onyxia and near half of them in MC and BWL are immune to fire though so it forces you to branch out to other specs. The 4 set rewards you here for trying cross spec rune options and there are many to play with.
As far as I'm seeing as well, it has no cap so the longer the boss fight the higher you could scale and that seems wild.

Don't forget that Mindfang, the AB caster dagger is "one-handed", and ELE can dual wield.
@@Levelity fresh 60 with brilliant wizard oil will be walking around with at least 216 spell damage from weapons.
@@Levelity aslong there is no similar princess dagger, every other weapon option is not be gonna used in a fast paced raid. and + % crit chance sucks anyway on ele shamans
@@AlCap0le For PvP the extra spell power from enchant, is going to be huge for Elemental. No shield but so squishy already.
hey sorry i am just coming back to sod (played alot in phase 1 and some in phase 2), you mentioned they murdered melee hunter. what did they change. the teir looks really bad for range and melee hunter.
hi david - i believe it's mainly this change "Melee Specialist no longer reduces the base cooldown on Mongoose Bite and Raptor Strike. The rune now also causes Mongoose Bite to have a 30% chance to reset the cooldown on Raptor Strike." - and they didn't give you much to make up for it

SP and hunter will still be needed for utility, just not stacking them. I think that is fine, and will still be needed.
As long as gameplay is fun and you're usefull (bring enough dps, utility, heals etc), it doesn't really matter how strong you are. Only speedrunning guilds need to super optimize, and most people are not in these types of guilds. Just play what you like to play, if you want to be competitive then compare yourself to other players of your class. There's really no need to min-max, especially in SOD as it's super casual.
it's true there won't be much need to fully minmax. what worries me though is the difficulty modes for MC. may end up pushing things to be too tryhard and stressful instead of fun
Been a Rouge since P2 when rouges where paying 15g for a gnomer spot feels great to continue being a rising star.
Im a ele shaman in sod and this sounds Nice but i wounder how they Will do with resists, If shit in MC is fire imune or resistant, were screwed
no way they keep mc fire resistant, would be insane at this point
I was not really high on SP but with the 2 set bonus this changes A WHOLE LOT. Instant Flash Heals by playing Surge of Light rune during as Shadow pvp is pretty damn strong when you do not even have to cast heals or drop shadowform for doing it. Even when surge does not proc reliably, no stance switch is huge, as you save alot of mana there and also do not loose damage and defense bonus from shadowform.
it's insane utility and you are the gods of 5mans and raids for support but does anyone really play this game to support?

The problem with shadow priest and vampiric touch is that it is just another instance of priest being buff bots. Let shadow priest do decent personal damage instead of just facilitating other people to have more fun. I'm sure people will love to have vampiric touch in the raid not because it is a fun button for the priest player but because it makes everyone else's time easier.
yeah i'm with you on that, they seem dead set on priest being support where rogues, warriors, they have very clear roles that are never support based really. it may be the wrong direction to go but at least you will have a raid spot
spriest for pvp is broken
Exactly , I know VT will be liked from healers and mages but all over again we becoming even more utility spec instead of being dps spec. Priest have only 1 way to DPS and thats with Shadow tree.
spriest pvp will be even more broken with the rune changes and racial changes, it feels impossible to balance fully
my fear as a healer is that spriest will be so valuable and their offhealing will be enough to carry dungeons so the meta will be 1 tank 2 dps 1 spriest, bad for me and bad spriests that hate offhealing lol
How good is 2 hand fury warrior with:
- Onslaught Belt
- Lion Helm
- Obsidian Edge or Bonereaver's Edge
- At least 9-11% hit
- 305-315 weapon skill.
He can't just do what he does like back in Regular Classic 2019-2021?
hmm...you can do exactly what you did in 2019 but now everyone else does 1.5k dps. i do beleive it will be good though
@@NOHITJEROME just 300-500+ dps was a thing in vanilla and 800-1,100+ was the Classic Standard with buffs? Been tanking in SoD so I dunno.

Runes: Warlock > Ret > SPriest > Hunter > Warrior > Ele Sham > Rogue > Fire Mage > Feral
Tier Sets: Warlock > Hunter > Balance > Warrior > Hpal > SPriest > Ele Sham > Feral
Overall: Warrior > Hunter > Spriest > Feral > Ele Sham > Rogue
My thoughts: IDK why it's just some of the runes and tier sets instead of ranking all of them best and worst. Just rank them all. And if Feral was the best Rune and Tier sets, but #3 for overall... doesn't make sense. Frost Mage is entirely overlooked. Having a 35% chance to proc Fingers of Frost is amazing and with Frozen Orb giving you 1 stack of it whenever it first strikes any target is awesome. Lots of crits. The problem is Mage is boring in PvE: literally spam Frostfire Bolt. If you're looking for PvP those rankings are totally wrong. Probably Rogue #1 followed by Ele Sham, Feral, and Frost Mage. In terms of healers: RDruid is very overlooked. Tree Form is looking insane! There is a downside though: cannot cast heals with casted spells. You'll have to pop into Tree Form, cast Wild Growth, Rejuv, then pop out to cast anything else. To be honest: they should make Tree Form like in retail: cooldown that makes healing spells stronger.

as for rdruid, i love treeform and i will also be playing a druid healer on top of priest

Hey man great vid, but pretty sure warriors are going to use sudden death. With buffs and WF rage will not be an issue and dropping executes will be huge. Do you see it differently? I've tried both runes and sudden death comes out as a clear winner even on PTR without WB's.
hmm sudden death may end up being stronger, i just see flat damage increases (even if they aren't 100% uptime) and i see warriors getting a lot especially with wbs
@@NOHITJEROME Sudden death Is a large chunk of my DPS on the PTR while testing. Around 25% of my damage is from executes. It procs a lot and max crits for 4k.
But in the end you can never really say for certain with warriors until tried with world buffs. But i'm fairly certain it will be the rune to go with for both arms and fury.

@@wowdadgaming I've tried multiple specs and sudden death comes out on every time. The only problem with it is it can leave you rage starved but with buffs in a raid environment that wont be an issue!
I dont think the ele set bonus is broken:
1) It's only 35%. Only off of crits (let's assume we have a high spellcrit of 50%). => 17.5% to proc off off LB.
2) It's only off off LB casts, and with CL cd removed, any fight with more than 1 mob you'll be using CL instead of LB, so you wont proc it until it's down to 1 mob
3) The part that refreshes CL cd is useless, since the rune already removes the cd on it.
4) On aoe with multi dotting FS, Power Surge is gonna proc so much, the insta cast/cd reset procs will happen constantly anyway.
To sum it up: It's confined to single target, where the proc chance is moderate and gives you an instant LvB.
Content needs to be designed for both PvE AND PvP. Clearly OP when LB and Shamans insta burst is already an issue in current P3 PvP.

How do you think Enhancement Shaman and Priest healers will perform?
hmm..haven't seen anyone playing enhance yet. going to tentatively say they look weaker but need more evidence. best healers on ptr are priest -> druid -> hpal but remember hpal has a god tier set. priest shield spam feels like it'll be the meta but we'll see, it's very mana intensive. what will you be maining?

Warriors scale to the Moon. They'll be gods. The more people flee from it the more true warriors get to shine. Damage will be insane.

yes it's too late you will have to wait for race changes in sod cata which is in 3 more years. alternatively you can make a giant broad shouldered male orc warlock if you prefer, those are your choices

@@NOHITJEROMEI do hope you’re right, because that’s how it should be, as warriors always get the shorter end of the stick in most expansions and dps should be relative to how much they can do overall, as it wouldn’t be fair to make a class be good at everything or bad at everything
@martinhensel8737 it was Testwerk. I didn't test aoe because there are so many classes already that do aoe so much better that during, Sunken Temple trash mobs, you could just let those classes do all the work.

@@jamescpalmer fury warriors actually had a rotiation, and it had some nuance and was enjoyable imo. mages literally have 1 button rotation.

Iv really felt let down by the prt for phase 4. My enhance shaman feels worse than it did in phase 1. I really don't see myself sticking around for SoD but ill give them a week or two to fix things. But as of now i'm out.
I feel like they tried to do too much with SoD, I wish they just fixed the classes that had unviable specs and made them viable while giving us new content. Dungeons, raids and so on. I'm just feeling let down, last time I felt this way about wow was when they took away classic style warrior rage in warlords.

I feel like the standout rune for warriors is Sudden Death, at least that worked the best in testing. And even with the world buff scaling, I doubt they will compete with ferals. Maybe I‘m wrong, but I saw top ferals do almost 2k while top warriors where sitting at around 1.3k. The tier set effect is also dumb, as it forces an unfun playstyle in stance dancing every few seconds. Blizzard thinks more buttons = more fun, but that is not the case, especially when you now have to put in even more work just to do less dps than other classes. There is basically no point in playing a warrior, if they don’t end up on top, as they don’t have anything else going for them: bad in PvP, no real way to solo farm stuff, inferior at tanking compared to other classes (I mean look at how uncreative the tanking tierset for warriors is) and now bad in PVE too. Classes should be more balanced in terms of the utility they have. If one excells at dps they shouldn’t also excell in pvp and everything else, and vice verca.
hi martin, I think your sudden death take is correct for now, but we'll see because I always see flat damage runes as being king for warrior. ferals/rogues right now are 100% positioned better than warriors and for now there is no point playing war compared to stacking feral or rogue. but i think blizz agrees with you and warriors will get more changes soon.

The shaman love from the devs is literally a meme at this point. I know most of my guild, if not all, aren't coming back for P4 as things stand. Sure, alot of things can and probably will change but the current changes on the PTR just goes to show they have no idea what they are doing with most classes. Dreadful, absolutely dreadful.

ya well i don't love it either because then they feel the need to overbuff paladins and it just ends up with paladins and shamans (two unpopular-ish classes) being WAY stronger than they normally would be..these are support classes that are carrying raids lol

Seems Blizzard learned nothing from previous instant Starsurge by giving Ele Shamans instant Lava Burst... LB is the equal of a Starfire on Balance Druid. The same way a druid needs to cast a Starsurge to able to do big damage with a Starfire, the same way Ele Shaman must Lava Shock to Lava Burst.
What was the thinking process behind for devs to make it instant? Ele shams have never had any burst issues on p3 to see this a requirement.

Hunters are not doing bad! In pvp, they can kill super quick with just 3 shots. Ranged Hunters can kill most classes before they get any cast off.
it's true, but this is more for pve balance. in pvp all bets are off, spriests and boomkins will probably be gods and ele shams of course
Shadow Priest is never about doing crazy dmg, we are pumping a healer group full of mana and heals. I'm fine with that.

@@NOHITJEROME We'll see, that's why it's a test phase, dmg numbers can be adjusted. It's a pve buff moving Void Plague to feet, we don't need Dispersion, especially if we are getting Vampiric Touch.
Makes me a little sad seeing people hate on sod. Little context coming from me though. My first experience with wow was in shadowlands (also raided shadowlands) and my guild died so I stopped. I came back just for sod because I never really gave classic wow a shot. I’m glad I did though I love sod. Found a good guild, and they haven’t really had talks about switching to cata or retail.
With that Tier Set Warrior Playstyle will be so fucking awful. So I guess the Discovery is over for me. Dont wanna switch Stance every few secs.

Warlock affliction has being the biggest lost because they haven't had anything decent throughout this whole season, Whoeverer is on the design team for affliction locks needs sacking 😂
hmm...i think they just see lock as already desired for raids and they don't need to do much redesign. plus they put a lot of resources into the tank side of it
As a hunter main since phase 1, all we got is nerf. I was really hoping they give melee huntet something in phase 4 when they nerf bm rune and raptor fury, but seeing the ptr now, even ranged look underwhelming. I have no hype for phase 4 at this point

hunters are very frustrating because they either are gods or terrible and everyone in 2019 was happy with them being terrible. (or mediocre) - nobody can handle them being good unfortunately

SoD was a good try at Phase 1. Then it fell off drastically!! If you like Classic Vanilla WoW and dont wanna play on the main cluster of realms(which is tremendous expensive for new players) try joining the EU-Realm- Zandalar Tribe! Its a Fresh Vanilla experiment. Its not linked with other realms, character transfers are not allowed and there is a Huge momentum right now!! New players join constantly everyday! Its only 1 month since player started joining!! Faction Balance is almost 50/50! Everyone is Welcome! See you there Vanilla enjoyers!
i like this mr patateiro. it's great and i hope the momentum grows. i don't know if i have the time to commit to a big new classic character right now unfortunately
I've always played rogue main, in 20 years. Even in SoD. I was actually enjoying my Sp alt a lot though and was really debating making it my main. However, it seems no matter what they try, they just cant make it shine.
some classes are meant to be suport. i don't know if there's any way to fix it. unless they go the p2 route and make melee worse
when i first looked at warlock set bonus, i was like ok.... then compared to others i was like shit,,,

If tomorrow they made spriest and ret top dps there would be almost no reason to bring true dps.
If priest did warriors damage and healed for 30% of that while also insta max sunder, thunder clap, demo, kicks and curses, off/def dispels on top of all the raid buffs. The optimal raid group turns into 1 ret tank 1 hpal 1 dps mage 1 feral druid 16priests…
Edit: if they sacrifice 80-90% of their utility for damage sure I can get behind that but still would require them to de-couple pve and pvp damage in some way

@@NOHITJEROME yes, watching your stacks build of raptor fury and crossing your fingers it'll proc and reset so you can get some raptors off with 5 stacks is a lot of fun.
Cata survival hunter rotation, which is ranged hunter is sod, is simply not appealing.
Melee hunter was a fun spin on hunter that they forced us to play in phase 2, and then we switch to it and they gut it.

it's true i'm undervaluing the 4% but crix seems really underwhelmed with the tier set at least, i played a fair amount of classic lock but haven't made a sod one yet

Honestly for me mage just feels so weak in pvp, bad damage and ice barrier does not absorb much so I die in a 1 v 1 :( I hope this gets fixed next phase because mage feels nothing like vanilla mage :(

@@NOHITJEROME Priest Tanking and the addition of a taunt, would sadly lead me to not play anymore, since the appeal of Tanking Priest would be lost. I cover this topic in one of my videos. BUT I'm more than happy to receive threat buffs, Mind Blast dealing more damage,etc.

Feral no.1 haha the copium. Swipe is 3 targets...not exactly gonna be topping those aoe meters. Single target dps changes...bleed dmg scaling at 50% attack power...massive meh however the bleed crit is nice....it is just locked behind a set bonus....yikes.
hmm...one argument for swipe is that the packs so far in sod have been pretty small, generally not like 10+ mobs. so swipe might be stronger than it seems

SOD is doomed! After testing on the PTR, PVP testing since that's where I personally get a good feel of game balance as PVE content in classic is spamming one button and consuming. The devs clearly have no idea what they are doing. It looks like they theory craft at a table hi five each other them implement it with zero testing done themselves. Mages - S+ tier - Insane healing, Insane Mobility, insane disruption (roots/cc/silence/slows) overkill on all fronts leaving no weakness moving away from any classic fundamentals in terms of scissor paper rock counter play. Shaman - S+++++++ tier - This one is just embarrassing to watch. Over Tuned on every front. Beyond Tanky, Earthshield out healing hard casted spells, root clean, sprint, pet stun, slows, insane heals, insane burst, insane dot dmg no counter play, just laughable. Rogue - S tier - Insane Dmg/CD reliant survivability - standard Rogue things. Paladin A tier - Feral/Boomy - A tier - These classes are decent, they feel like vanilla+ content, potential great scaling with item upgrades and set bonus's. The rest - Hunter/Warlock - B tier - These two just showcase how lost the devs are. The biggest L i've ever seen, Warrior - F tier - I feel so sadge for anyone who plays a warrior.
The vanilla classic wow we all love that was created by passionate fellow nerds who created a world where they could not only fit into but thrive can not be recreated. SOD is so far from it. Classic Fresh seems to me like the best option.

It's honestly like instead of thinking about builds they just throw shit at a wall and see what happens. Low and behold it's a spitting image of wrath rogue. Accept they've deleted combat from viability.
Why didn't they look at combat and make that the aoe build by making it more similar to outlaw In retail. Saber slash lowers the cd of blade flurry and make a "your blade flurry now hits all targets in a cone in front of you for 50% or target damage" and if you saber slash during blade flurry it reduces the cd per target hit.
Make it have some level of play style rather than. Keybind everything to Fok. Then leave 2 keybinds for mutilate and envenom. /yawn

Even crimson tempest is proccing relentless on every target meaning you hit it and get instantly capped on energy afaik.
It's good they have the PTR or people would be making1000 videos about the imbalance of things as usual.
Hopefully they keep the PTR rolling and they listen to everyone's feedback on classes. Preferably not all the paladins continuously crying about one thing or anything and actually just listen to people who are playing the classes they criticise.
