      GameOver Jesse if im going to be honest this list was pitiful, technicaly by saying picking the pirate life you cant bring up anything that happened in wind waker, making a cruel joke as to why zelda has the triforce of wisdom was un needed, as there is a difference from having wisdom and using it, and in most of these how was she supposed to know it would end badly, and even when it does, she fixes her mistakes, and about the sheik one, link wouldn't of been quite as strong as he was had he she intervened, and for the songs basically saying: "here you earned it"

    Honestly, surrendering in Twilight Princess was the best choice she could have made. Zant would have killed her, and though Link could have managed with just Midna guiding him for awhile, he would have been stuck once Zant attacks Midna. If Zelda hadn't surrendered, Zant would have killed Zelda, preventing her from being able to rescue Midna. Consequently, Midna would have died, leaving Link stuck as Wolf Link and with no knowledge whatsoever of the Master Sword, not to mention wholly incapable of taking the steps needed to reassemble and enter the Mirror of Twilight. My point being Zelda did it right in Twilight Princess. And that Link needs opposable thumbs as often as possible.

      Nope, Zelda could’ve fought. She’s shown to be extremely magically proficient and doing Ganondorf some damage later on. Her surrendering saved no one. At the very least if she’d fought she could’ve stalled Zant&Ganondorf until the New Chosen Hero awakened to help tip the balance

    number one doesn't make sense, how is Zelda going to confront Ganon with her "already given powers" when the entire point of the game is that she doesn't have any powers until after Ganon appears?

    • @lilchristuten7568
      @lilchristuten7568 Před 5 lety +22

      From what I have seen of the game it appears that Zelda's power didn't awaken until after Link was mortally wounded.
      They also say that she has been shown having the power to stop Ganon. In fact she has never been shown to have that power, only in breath of the wild has she been shown to have power close to Ganon's so that she could hold him back for 100 years (and given the trailers from the sequel it appears that it wasn't even really Ganon that she was holding back); every other game has shown her helping Link fight Ganon on a supportive role if at all.

    • @marisafutscher8673
      @marisafutscher8673 Před 4 lety +10

      Yeah that confused me too her powers were not awaken and in her diary she was struggling a lot to awaken them she once passed out trying to awaken them it say it in urbosas diary

    • @Drunkoncouch
      @Drunkoncouch Před 4 lety +4

      The powers were given to her the day she was born. However, her mother, the only person who knew how to use the power had died when Zelda was young. So she took so long to awaken her powers because she was never trained on how to actually use it or awaken it. When Link was wounded, her power had awakened to save Link because if he had died, nobody could slay Ganon. But her power was used too late and Link was struck down and brought to the shrine of resurrection. So really, she had always had her powers, and always knew they were there, but her power couldn't be used to it's full potential until it had fully awakened. (Like the Master Sword)

      I know I’m late to the party I’ve been rewatching old theory videos from zeltik and Nintendo black crisis but my take on it is that if she would’ve worked together with everyone else she might’ve found a way to awaken them sooner now onto the other side if King Rhoam had allowed her to work more with Robbie and Pirah perhaps the three of them together could’ve completely unlocked the mystery of the Sheikah tech we’ll never know though

    • @herbertthepervertthatsstra8115
      @herbertthepervertthatsstra8115 Před 4 lety +5

      @E Gad Bro, I'm afraid the two soldiers and how ever many she had left to fight with would have been splattered. Zant could literally warp dimensions and travel to different locations instantly! He did it several times throughout the game and in the boss fight with him he transports you to several different locations through out the fight! Zant could easily dodge or out do a seal placed upon him. Not to mention hes a freaking nutcase! Fighting him was like fighting a mental ward patient off his meds! Also I'm sure Zant had his shadow beasts in a positions to swarm the entire kingdom at the flick of the wrist. Zelda surrendering may not be seen as a bold move but the enemy was already in a key position to destroy your country. If Zelda had fought back Zant could have killed her then destroyed the rest of the kingdom cause he would now be in control of it.

    • @herbertthepervertthatsstra8115
      @herbertthepervertthatsstra8115 Před 4 lety +5

      @Blaze Is Hyped Those soldiers would be nothing to him. Zant's prowess with a sword should be noted dues to his fight with Link in Zant's boss battle. I imagine he could kill probably 100 Hyrule soldiers by himself. Dude is crazy and has an unpredictable fighting pattern!

      @@rhynlock11 Yep. She only had the Triforce of wisdom. Zant had just a little bit of Ganondorf's power but he already had some tricks of his own. The point is that at that point in Twilight Princesses story Hyrule was all but defeated. Zant had took it over and there wasn't much they could do. Until Link showed up that is.

  • @kingyo1509
    @kingyo1509 Před 6 lety +359

    I always thought Zelda took a wise choice when surrendering in Twilight Princess.
    We don't see her power in this game, but it seems to be weaker than BoTW, for example. Knowing what happened with Ganon in this timeline, she could have been aware of his presence; so if she died, it would be easy for him (or even Zant) to kill the hero and use the Triforce.
    The best she could do was survive and wait for the hero, in order to help him and protect her people. Fighting was possible, but too risky.

    • @zinnia4516
      @zinnia4516 Před 6 lety +35

      Hermione Sunderly it’s not even about sensing wether he was coming or not. It’s about hyrule castle is at the foot of demise thanks to an attack. What else are you gonna do? And even if she did fight back, Ganondorf would have soon followed after. It is true that Zelda was locked away, but the people weren’t in danger. Zant never attacked the people. They roamed around aimlessly and unknowingly that they were spirits. Thought this surrender, link was still able to get in touch with Zelda i.e sneak in with the help of midna. Zelda did help him.

    • @jarredviola6183
      @jarredviola6183 Před 5 lety

      What i don’t like about this whole timeline is that there shouldn’t be an adult timeline. And to consider that sending link back was bad, it should be null and void. Zelda was giving link back his childhood. It wasn’t Zelda’s decision to send Navi away and to have link find her, though returning with no results. But still. If you send someone back in time, that future still has the ability to change. It’s not like link went through all that again, though there are theories such as morpheel is that water temple monster in ocarina of time. Regardless, ganondorf, instead of proceeding with his plans, was locked away as seen in twilight princess. This should change the future into the events in twilight princess. It doesn’t make sense that another timeline should exist where there is no hero.

Personally, I love Sheik, and I love playing them in any game in any chance I get, but since everyone knows the big reveal since OoT has been out so long, I think they just decided "it's Zelda anyways, why not try to make the model more feminine.

    Number 10 is really that bad since if you look at the lore of the game.
    There was too many things going on in Zelda's life at the time.
    Examples:
    1. Lost her mother
    2. Being forced to start early on awaking her power not soon after that
    3. Top that all off with how much everyone was putting pressure on her when she wasn't ready
    Yeah I understand the world was at risk but man if I was the king and Zelda was my daughter I would have taken the time make sure she is ready before forcing her to start training right away.
    So really number 10 is more the everyone else's fault not Zelda's doing.

    • @godisacatgirl
      @godisacatgirl Před 6 lety +27

      Yeah, number 10 feels a bit wrong since it wasn't just her personality, her diary explains that (and Urbosa too), Link reminds her of her own "failures" and all the pressure on her because of her "destiny", but she tried to compensate the lack of her power with something she loved, research, and at the time the guardians and the shrines.
      The king also had his own fair share of trouble, people of the court said bad things about Zelda and the reputation of the royal family could easily crumble, so he had to show that work was being done, that included forcing Zelda to try to awaken her powers as fast as she could, which led to the cutscene where he tells Zelda to stop doing research on the guardians and Sheikah technology which hurt Zelda, next came the day that she left for Mount Lanayru which was followed by the fall of Hyrule and so the King never had the chance to apologise to her. In the king's Diary there's an entry on the day of that cutscene which he expresses regret but also that he had to do it because he's the king and he wants the best for the people, the entry has him show how much he wants to be a good parent towards Zelda and wants her to do what she loves, but his position doesn't quite let him do it and he feels bad because of it. I think he also mentions in the Diary that it's hard to have Zelda awaken her powers right after her mother died, who also was the only person that could help her doing so.
      The diaries really are the best things in BotW, the cutscenes show how they act in public, in Zelda's case you see her slowly warming up to Link which makes it great, but the diaries you see their true feelings, the king's regrets for not being a better parent due to his duties, and Zelda also showing regret in treating Link the way she does initially but also stating the reasons why she regrettably did so, which there's also a cutscene where she opens up about it although not fully disclosing it when she talks with Link about "destiny".

  • @Glockenspheal
    @Glockenspheal Před 6 lety +613

    I disagree with most of these:
    10: Zelda is stubborn because she has a ton of pressure on her, she isn't able to access her powers and sees everyone around her succeed, she does everything right but for whatever reason she can't accomplish anything still, even then, the only support she gets is almost empty or unhelpful. The weight of her entire kingdom's future is on her shoulders.
    9: Eh, sure, this one I'll admit could've had serious consequences, but still, can you blame her for not believing Link? I don't get why people get so upset over this one all the time, she didn't know any better, being wise doesn't equal being all-knowing, she is just a girl after all, luckily it all turned out ok, but geez, give her a break.
    7: Surrendering was an Ok option I feel, otherwise an entire army would've wiped out most of the population, the only times we see civilians getting killed or kidnapped is when they try to resist, if she hadn't surrendered, most of the population in Hyrule would've been wiped out. Now, regarding Zelda's power, we don't know at what extent this Zelda could use them nor if she knew what kind of powers she had, besides, most of the times Zelda isn't able to seal whatever evil by herself, Link and sometimes sages are also an important part of the vanishing process. She had to make a serious and hasty decision, I think it was only logical.
    6: Well, what else were they going to do? the ship was too big to get any closer, FF has cannons around the perimeter and light, have they been found out it would've been the end of the pirates and Tetra herself, the only reason Link had such an easy time the second time was because he was prepared, he had a smaller boat and bombs to infiltrate and a dozen more items and the Master Sword to fight whatever awaited him inside the fortress, not to mention he got lucky that Phantom Ganon decided to appear and grant access to the Skull Hammer, otherwise, even the second time, Helmaroc King would've been impossible to deal with.
    5: Sheik had to maintain a low profile all the time, as long as possible, helping Link more could've caused Ganon to take notice and unveil her disguise, thus she wouldn't have given Link the Light Arrows and therefore he wouldn't have a way of defeating Ganon, besides, Sheik also had to keep tabs on Link's progress and make sure he had awakened all 6 sages before fighting Ganon, giving him the songs right away and the Light Arrows would've made it a dead give-away and would've made Link be ill-prepared for fighting Ganon, the only reason Ganon spared Link's life before he was able to surpass him was because he wanted Link to find Zelda for him, had Sheik made any suspicious move, Hyrule would've been conquered by Ganon entirely.
    4: Yeah, this was reckless of Tetra, but even then a Ghost ship is somewhat of an outlandish claim to put out, Link had previously seen and entered one, but Tetra hadn't, besides, it's kinda suggested that Bellum was going for Tetra regardless, as he sensed a divine power within her, even then, both were totally unprepared, no Master Sword, and no knowledge of such an evil and powerful being existing out there in the sea, it could've been much worse had Tetra boarded the ship willingly.
    3: Their objective was to open the door to Jabun themselves, Tetra already had the knowledge of what to do to support Link, but seeing how Link was already catching up to them, she decided to let him do it by himself, besides, the less Pirates in Outset Island the better. Also, that bomb seller was a total d**k, such outlandish prices.
    2: Well, her logic was that Ganon was sealed for good and that Link needed some well deserved childhood experience, besides, it is hinted that a hero was destined to appear and didn't, not that OoT Link would return, I don't think the seal lasted less than 100 years and that OoT Link would've been in perfect shape to fight Ganon again if that was the case.
    1: Well, these machines have been proven to give a massive advantage when fighting against Ganon in the past and even the reason Ganon was sealed 10k prior to Botw, and even when BotW takes place they basically make the fight against Ganon much more easier, with Zelda not being able to awaken her powers what else were they supposed to do? Also, no one knew Ganon was gonna go full Skynet on the machines and turn them back against Hyrule.
    Again, sure these things weren't that intentional on Zelda's part, but I often get the feeling people expect Zelda to be all-knowing and expecting her to always make the right call, but that's not how wisdom works.

    • @Glockenspheal
      @Glockenspheal Před 6 lety +37

      The shrines were non active because the main tower was not activated yet, even if Link had it, it wouldn't have made a difference, the reason Zelda had it was because she understood it better than anyone else, best thing would have been to find the tower, activate it, and make Link train inside the available shrines, even then I doubt Link would've fared any better, Guardians are very strong, specially in great numbers, besides, the malice spread almost instantly, so probably even with the strongest Link possible, the champions would've been toast in a matter of minutes, Link would be able to save one at most.
      Really, their main problem was to put so much pressure on Zelda, I don't blame them, but still, also, awakening the Divine Beasts and Guardians was also a problem, but you can't blame them for believing that the things that worked last time wouldn't work this time.

    While an interesting topic, I feel a lot of these points were lacking information. I'll only argue a few here though
    The reason BotW Zelda pushed Link away instead of being friendly to him like SS Zelda is because of their history, or lack thereof. SS Zelda was his childhood friend and had been so their whole lives. In BotW, however, he was suddenly pushed into being her guardian by her dad because she was failing to develop her power and Ganon was supposedly close. Instead of a comforting friend, he was a reminder of her incompetence. He was a similarly aged young man well on his way to fulfilling his destiny, a destiny she knowingly shared with him despite her being nowhere near prepared. He was a constant reminder of the pressure from her father to succeed. Imagine if your family owned a business and you were in school learning to eventually own it, but were prevented from working there because you were failing school, then suddenly your dad hires a new financial advisor whom had been successful straight out of highschool despite being your age and told him to tutor you. That's a fair comparison, and would be really annoying for anyone. Understand her situation and her reaction isn't as bad, especially since nobody considered him being able to help her develop her ability.
    As for the divine beasts, that was actually her father, not Zelda. But even disregarding that, while it failed, which wasn't her fault at all, it was a logical plan considering what they knew. The legends said that the Guardians and divine beasts were designed to aid the hero in the fight against the calamity. They didn't know that he had managed previously without their help, just what they were designed for and that they succeeded in their goal until they were lost to time. It would be quite reasonable to think they were necessary, and no reason to believe Ganon would manage to take control of them.
    Then there's TP Zelda submitting without a fight. Honestly, that was wisdom at its core. She didn't know what Zant was capable of, and she didn't know he wouldn't keep the promise of safety, but it's certain he would have kept his promise of destruction if she wasn't able to defeat him. And she would have no reason to think she could win. He had defeated enough soldiers and guards to reach her, meaning her remaining guards wouldn't have been much help, and Zant wasn't alone. In fact, since those shadow beasts revive if not all killed at once and with her only having a sword, as the light arrows came from the light spirits whom would have been weakened still, I don't think she could have managed, as skilled a fighter she may have been. As for the comments that she has managed before, keep in mind that those were different Zeldas, not her, giving her different capabilities and no knowledge of her ancestors successes. So while Zant lied and her people were hurt anyway, it was actually the wiser and better choice. Again, not really fair to say it was an awful thing to do and compare it to Tetra's theft.
    Now on to Tetra. Her firing Link into the Forbidden Fortress was a bad idea, but was a better choice than just rushing in, especially if they hadn't missed. I mean, Link was just at the start of his adventure, and his greatest accomplishment so far had been fighting a couple of monsters to save Tetra. Logically, while talented, nobody would think he could take on the whole fortress alone, or even with the help of 4 pirates. Even they couldn't defeat the Helmaroc King. If not for players being able to go through hundreds of times without consequences, Link really wouldn't have been able to make it through. Consider a first time Zelda player trying to take on the Forbidden Fortress with only a sword and shield, no other weapons. That's about what Tetra would have been able to realistically expect of Link. As for the Bomb Shop, while not good to do, there's more to it than you suggested. First off, the shop keeper was ripping people off and being an asshole, making it more of a Robin Hood scenario. That aside, while she says she just wants treasure, its suggested by her actions that she is planning on helping Outset Island with those bombs. So she's essentially planning to rob a rich business man with total control of the market and a snobby attitude, without hurting him, to save an entire island of people. Also, the placement of the Bomb shop. Its a port city and a popular destination for sailors, whom use the bombs as cannonballs and thus weapons on the sea against pirates and monsters. Its like selling water in the desert.
    Finally, OoT. We don't know how well Sheik can fight, at least not canonically. And using the power of the Triforce of Wisdom wouldn't have been an option. So maybe she just felt she wouldn't be helpful in the dungeons, or maybe even a burden due to her lack of skill. As for the songs, that could have helped, but think of the things Link needed to get to reach the place the first time that were needed for the adventure later. The red tunic, the blue tunic, the iron boots, the hover boots, the acceptance of the Gerudo. Imagine if Sheik gave the songs, Link warped there, but because of the items he hadn't gotten along the way and didn't know he'd need, he wound up dying. Wouldn't have been very helpful. As for sending Link back, that's not very fair either. First off, doing so saved every life lost in the seven years he was in the sacred realm. And in doing so, she's also helped save Termina, whom faced their own disaster soon after Ganondorf was prevented from starting his plan. Also, she wouldn't know Ganondorf could return, nor do we know Link would have been alive still to stop him again as we don't know when exactly he returned. We also don't have confirmation that he vanished from that timeline, just that he wasn't there when needed. He could have been on an unknown journey, or died in battle or of natural causes. Either way, Zelda didn't know Ganondorf would return and saved a lot of lives in a different timeline by sending Link back.
    So yeah, a lot of these don't consider all of the information. But a good topic still

    I feel like Zelda in Twilight Princess was justifiable in her surrender. She is the only ruler of Hyrule and leads her people as much as she can. When Zant brings shadow beasts, an unknown monster that her best swordsmen are helpless against, and she senses power she had never felt before, she is given one option by Zant.
    To surrender or die.
    And he even reiterates it by asking the 'people' of Hyrule, mainly the soldiers, about life or death. Even the soldiers look to Zelda in hopelessness and you can even see their forms turn from determined to almost afraid. She had to surrender. To protect her people, her home, and to prevent more lives lost, she had to. She was going up against a force she had never encountered before.
    But that's just my two cents lol.

    At first, I hated Zelda in BoTW. But as the credits rolled I found she was my favorite Zelda (story-wise, not design-wise) to date. I feel like this game put more emphasis on it being the Legend of *ZELDA* instead of it being more like the Legend of *LINK* . She has her own character arch in the story, starting off as a stubborn but intelligent child unwilling to accept her destiny and more focused on how to control the ancient machines.
    It's pretty cool because we see both sides of the argument as being compelling since the ancient beasts (if you complete the game 100%) and help from the Goddess Hylia, ultimately prove to be Ganon's downfall. In the story, with some help from her bodyguard, Link, she comes to realize that a balance between her desires and her destiny is what leads her to become the embodiment of the Triforce of Wisdom. Reading her diary (lol) you see she begins to understand the destiny side of things when Link tells Zelda why he's so quiet all the time, telling her that in dark times, perhaps a silent and stoic hero is what people need to cling onto. Seeing that Link is willing to put aside his own desires for the people of Hyrule, Zelda decides to focus on being who her people need her to be. A vessel for Hylia to act through.
    And after protecting Hyrule for a freaking century! *A CENTURY!* She returns to Link what Link gave her all those years ago, the drive to follow their destiny in defeating Ganon. As we wake up with Link into this brand new Hyrule, we get our mission and its up to us as the player to complete it in any way possible. Whether that be by freeing all the divine beasts, getting the master sword and collecting our memories; or by running naked into Hyrule castle and beating the ever-loving Hylia out of Ganon (lol). But whatever our methods, our mission is to not keep our girl waiting any more.

      Using her powers, as explained during botw is not that simple, and we've only seen her use her sealing powers to fight Ganon/Ganondorf and no one else. She was pretty much powerless against Zant. Also, she only seems really powerful if she has the full triforce like in botw. In oot is stated that Zelda has prophetic dreams, which might have shown her the result of the war. In the rest of the games, her powers are a support to link. Gorons are strong, but they aren't warriors, they are miners, fighting against creatures from the twilight seems like a suicide. In the end, both of our answers are kinda theoretical, but it's fun to imagine. Thanks for the reply

      The way I saw this scenario was that it’s not the “she didn’t even try” but a “she tried but couldn’t”. In the final battle she summoned the light arrows via the four spirit guardians. What’s to say that ganondorf via zant went after the guardians first so Zelda couldn’t summon the light arrows and use them to hold off the twilight assault? That’s how I always saw that played out :)

    Tbh I loved the zelda in BotW ..by pushing him away it helped make her a bit more relatable in my opinion . We love the image of a kind hearted zelda who seems "perfect" but none of us can truly relate to that . Take into consideration all the pressure she had on her shoulders and how her father pressured her . I'm sure her whole life she was told that it was up to her only .. so it would make sense to push others away to fulfill that pressure on her own . The same as most people might realistically feel, act and treat others . She hit so many insecurities imagine how many emotional walls she built up .. just saying haha still a fun video x3

      Alberts Choise yes met* my bad but actually I disagree . Like I said in my initial comment from a non bias stand point - in a realistic psychological perspective.. try to be a little empathetic towards her situation and her actions/attitude makes complete sense in a real world situation . Imagine the amount of pressure she had to deal with . KNOWING she's the reincarnation of the Goddess Hylia but lacks the ability to bring forth it's power . Imagine the guilt and insecurities she dealt with since a very very young age after her mom passed away and her father pressuring her 24/7 to do NOTHING other than bring forth her power . Like I said before this amount of emotional pressure caused her to put up walls against other people getting too close to her . She also explains to link that his job seems so easy to him . He's not failing his job the way she is failing hers . She's not mean to him for no reason . It's not like she's being a bitch out of her ass . It's a natural very human defense mechanism. She's possibly trying to protect her heart from feeling like another disappointment to someone like link so she'd rather push him away then let him get close . And I'm not sure what you mean by she feels like she deserves link ?

    One thing that really annoyed me was that in Breath of The Wild, we see a cutscene where Zelda is trying to activate the shrines, but she obviously fails. The thing that really annoyed me about this is that she KNOWS that in ancient stories it’s said that the shrines are supposed to be activated by the hero which she NOT ONCE mentions to Link because she resented him at the time. If she had, it’s likely that Link would have been way stronger and able to defeat a lot of their threats, giving Zelda more time to activate her power and maybe even giving Link the opportunity to learn about the Divine Beasts and being able to go in and save the champions. In summary, Zelda’s attitude and indifference once again ultimately killed thousands of her subjects indirectly.

    It wasnt Zeldas fault Ganon possessed her body....Zeldas Soul was within Midna, keeping Midna alive, Puppet Zelda was all Ganon, so you can blame him for that! not just that, BUT ZELDA USED ALL OF HER POTENTIAL...SAVING MIDNA, MAKING ZELDA AN EMPTY SHELL, not just that, some things WORK when you give up, THINGS turn for the better, and thats what it shows at the end, sometimes you really do have to listen, and do what youre told, because at the end you have the greatest advantage! Zelda KNEW Link was coming, and all she could do for her people then was to follow Zants options, ALSO bruh most of the things you have stated in this have nothing to do with Zelda doing these bad things, you say shes really doing, they also really added realism in TP, do your research lol.

  • @MidnaRocks1000
    @MidnaRocks1000 Před 6 lety +16

    If the worst things you can come up with are Zelda a) not being able to do everything by herself (even tho in all the main games I can think of link and zelda have to work together to seal Ganon) b) her being simply frustrated with things that aren’t her fault, and c) putting the good of the many before the good of the few (if she hadn’t surrendered to Zant, because she knew she needed Link to beat him, literally Zant would’ve wiped out most of hylian population not just “made them sick” or turned them to spirits).
    And literally your “number one”?? Bitch did u even play the fucking game????? The whole point of EVERY SINGLE MEMORY is that Zelda COULD NOT figure out how to use her power!!! Her mother was dead!!! She had no one to teach her!!!!! You’re saying that the whole reason the guardians and divine beasts became possessed was Zelda’s fault JUST because they tried what worked last time (something else they use every time: the master sword, Ganon never found a way to possess that), and you’re saying it’s absolutely Zelda’s fault that he pulled an unexpected move??? “If only she had figured out her power sooner” YA THATS LITERALLY THE POINT OF THE GAME! WAY TO GO SHERLOCK!! And “oh Link could’ve helped her if she just told him about these things!!” the memory where she’s sitting in the rain and he’s practicing his swordplay is her telling him she can’t do it. Same with the one of her in the Spring of Power. It’s also revealed through her diary that Link knew what he was doing just about as much as he did, because he also felt extremely stressed out about the entire situation. They’re literally teenagers in most of the games. And just because she’s the goddess incarnate doesn’t mean she knows everything.
    You literally pulled half these “reasons” out of your asses; if you’re going to make a list don’t try to make up half the points because you need 10 of them. Provide some actually thoughtful commentary. Play the games and maybe think about things from the characters’ point of view. Make a top 3 and flesh out your points instead of beefing up an already long video trying to justify points that are already bs. smh

    IMHO, sending the Hero of Time back to "relive" his childhood was perhaps one of her worst decisions, in spite of the fact that she meant well. By then Link had seen and done far too much to ever be able to relive life as the innocent ten year old boy he once was. Instead he was merely trapped in his old body, in a world where all his friendships and deeds where undone, and where Ganon once again had to be stopped, although this time he would be stopped sooner. Still, this is the Link that became the Hero's Shade that we encounter in TP, a man who likely never found his friend, Navi, and would go on to die with regrets. Luckily he found his peace after teaching his skills to his descendant, the Hero of Twilight, though I must say, having grown up with the Hero of Time, his story is perhaps the saddest of them all.

    I believe if Sheik stayed in sight for too long, it would be easier for Ganondorf to sense Zelda. Sitting out in the open for an hour, teaching Link songs (especially songs that hold magical power) would probably make it tough to keep her presence hidden and might risk her being found right away, before Link is ready to fight Ganon.

    For me... The worst thing Zelda ever did was actually when she was still a kid in Ocarina of Time. Back then, she encouraged Link to gather the three spiritual stones and open the seal in the temple of time. If she hadn’t told him to do that then Ganondorf would’ve never gotten access to the sacred realm and the triforce and the horrible events that come after would’ve been much less severe. True, Ganondorf would still have been a treat, but not a ‘divine’ treat with the triforce of power . He would’ve been something for the army to worry about.

  • @delivermypain
    @delivermypain Před 6 lety +5

    I disagree with the hyrule surrender in Twilight Princess. She is sworn to protect Hyrule therefore she surrenders and chooses life for her people. Her soldiers were being trampled, it was evident she had no chance to win against Zant. She was going to defend herself, that's why she had her sword and guards there in the first place, but she understood she was going to lose and surrendered SAVING HYRULE IN DOING SO. If she had fought the shadows monsters and zant that waltzed all the way through all the guards in the castle, to the top floor were zelda is and then trampled her personal guards as well she would have doomed herself and hyrule in a fight she was clearly going to lose. This was without doubt the best and only option for her.
    You may say that her power is usually stronger in other games but damn it that's other games, in this game she used her power to save Midna and she VANISHED. That's arguably a lot less power she needs to save midna than facing Ganon and it already made her "vanish"! She only grows strong enough when all spirits have their powers, which they clearly hadn't by the time Zant attacked hyrule. The other games need her to have certain circumstances for her to be powerful too, and it seems that fact was completely neglected in this alleged horrible deed.
    Other than that, well, I haven't played the BotW so I can't say how legit that one is, but the others are pretty bad indeed xD The launching of Link WAS hilarious though :')

    In my opinion, being that Zelda has the triforce of wisdom therefore perhaps her actions were done for a reason, knowing that link would come and save the day, therefore she makes certain decisions (some that may appear a little bit stupid or unhelpful). So perhaps she can somewhat see the future and therefore understands what she must to for the fate of hyrule. Also going on the point of how Zelda surrenders to Zant, say she tried to fight Zant, and maybe Zant defeats her, therefore changing the whole fate of hyrule and potentially link to be unable to save hyrule. This is just my opinion and I respect everyone else's opinions.

    In Twilight Princess Zant is saying he will kill everyone in Hyrule if she DOESN'T surrender. Surrendering herself instead of struggling is how she tries to protect her kingdom. BotW's incarnation of Zelda also has all three pieces of the triforce. Generally speaking, the iterations where the triforce is split between Zelda, Link and Ganon demonstrate that wisdom is the weakest piece and doesn't do much on its own. It pretty much seems to exist to create light arrows, in terms of physical ability. Knowing this and choosing to surrender to avoid throwing away her subjects' lives unnecessarily, on the other hand, was demonstrating wisdom.

    In Ocarina of Time, Zelda confessed to trying to take over the Sacred Realm. When I saw that, I looked back in the game and saw just how sneaky she really was. She knew everything was going to happened and played both Link and Ganondorf like puppets. She even sends Link back with the Triforce of Courage to ensure she got the Triforce of Wisdom. She figured Ganondorf would be dead before gaining the Triforce of Power, so she didn't think too much of him nor of the fact the triforce can heal fatal wounds and he would still be alive in the twilight realm. Too bad her descendant and Link's in Twilight Princess had to clean up her mess.

    I politely have to disagree with the twilight princess one (surrender to zant).
    1. Triforce of wisdom,
    2. Their power was probably enough to destroy hyrule castle and all the guards in there. Then it would mean that the castle town is no longer safe.
    3. She always reaches full potential in the end, rather than a build up like link’s. And she usually seals them away when weakened.
    4. Hyrule castle is an important part of Ganons plan, so even if she were to beat zant, Ganon would soon come by and butcher everyone.

    Leave BOTW Zelda outta this. She couldnt use her powers on her own, and it wasn't cause she wasnt trying. She basically saved hyrule for the 100 year slumber of link so that when link awoke he would finally end ganon for good.

    I believe Zelda is the true villain of this franchise she even stated it was her fault in Ocarina of time for attempting to control the sacred realm.
    If that line doesn't set anyone off I don't know what will.

    Even though I love The Legend of Zelda videogames, Zelda is one of my least fav characters...
    However I think the only really bad thing one of her versions has ever done is what is mentioned in number 2, Ocarina of Time Zelda sending Link back to the past, not because she probably created 2 timelines, it is because she condemned Link to a time where he was never recognized as the hero he was despite all the shttt he had to go through being just a child, yeah even when he was sealed for 7 years, he was still a child at heart and mind, , a time after he ends up in Termina.... At the end we see him in Twilight Princess as a restless spirit because he was never able to pass on his knowledge until TP Link appears.
    Mah heart 💔

    Never mind pushing Link away she purposefully held him back in his training to defeat Ganon in BotW. She knew that the Sheikah slate was meant for the Hero chosen by the sword (she even says so in the memory near Teno Ko'sah shrine) and yet still refused to let him use it. If he had accessed the shrines, developed his power, and by doing them all gained the power we achieve 100 years later, he would have been better prepared to fight Ganon. She knew that the slate was for Link not her but out of her stubbornness, jealousy, and scientific curiosity for another way into the shrines she held his development back. Thus they were BOTH unprepared for Ganon. Hell if she had fixed her attitude she likely would've been able to talk to Mipha, Urbosa, and Daruk about their powers to see if she could relate how they used them to her own sealing power (Revali developed his skill on his own so it really wasn't a power per se). Mipha seems like she was about to tell Zelda about her power (likely by thinking about her love for Link) just as Ganon appears. This one is legit.
    Tetra and what her "crew"/servants say are all hogwash as we know because we find out they know her identity and are there to protect her by keeping her heritage from her. Most likely what we saw was the worst she did and the talk of her crew was just BS to appeal to her. Also you counted Tetra 3 times in one vid; 2 were from the same game, come on.
    Zelda in Twilight Princess had to surrender as she obviously doesn't have her powers unlocked and Zant obviously was powerful enough to kill his way up to her with ease. An all out war would've led to thousands of unnecessary casualties. The decision between a war you obviously cannot win considering how easily Zant slaughtered through all the guards protecting the castle to get to her and potentially saving your kingdom to fight another day is a no brainer. Ya'll are wrong on this one. Zelda would've killed everyone in the kingdom since all guards/soldiers would've been wiped out and the entirety of the royal line would've been lost (Notice she has no powers and her parents are obviously dead otherwise they'd be the one makin the decision not her). There was no indication she had any powers at all in that game (she prays to the very light spirits that you released and they give her THEIR power) and that Zelda is only connected to the other Zeldas in the past of the child timeline back to the goddess in Skyward Sword they aren't the same people. The name is only the same by the ancient royal tradition. All Princesses are named Zelda. Therefore the only argument that he had any power at all was that her prayer was answered and that means nothing since other characters in other games have their prayers answered too like in Windwaker for example (the great flood creating the great sea).
    There is no way anyone but a god/goddess would've known how time would react to sending Link back to prevent Hyrule from being destroyed. Remember she is the descendant of the goddess Hylia defender of the Triforce, not the godess herself. If there is no goddess of time there is still no way Zelda could've known, as the multiple possibilities all involved destroying Hyrule unless Ganondorf was captured BEFORE destroying it. By sending Link back she was trying to save lives as Link was traveling back and forth no problem up to that point. If her using the Ocarina and her powers to send him back rather than the Master Sword was reason for the discrepancy then maybe that is an argument but even that is a stretch.
    BotW took place in either the Child timeline or the theorized "Inevitability" timeline. The inevitability timeline is a theory that all of the timelines inevitably collapse onto one another which is why there are so many easter eggs and name references to so many other timelines. If you take the references as fact rather than simply easter eggs, this theory holds the most weight. However, if you accept that the devs put easter eggs in the game and only accept in-game facts (not hacks or out of game stuff like amiibos) then all you have to do is eliminate the other timelines based off of solid evidence to reach a conclusion. Hyrule was left under the great sea and Zelda's bloodline (a.k.a. the goddess Hylia's bloodline) completely left the great sea to New Hyrule in the adult timeline. There is no evidence of old Hyrule being revived, Ganondorf being released by someone drawing the master sword from out of his head, someone else being chosen by the master sword to even allow that to happen, or the great sea somehow disappearing (remember it was brought on via divine intervention) to let any of it happen. With no evidence to place it after Wind Waker it can't be on the adult timeline. The only evidence that BotW could've taken place in the downfall timeline are tablets referring to Ruto awakening as a sage but this can be explained away by Zelda sending Link back to the past but AFTER he unlocked the master sword and was sealed away (otherwise there would have been two Link's in the child timeline causing disaster). Link arrives back from the future and there is no Navi because she is sealed away with him of the past in the sacred realm for 7 years and he leaves to "find her" (either confused about how time travel works or just clinging to that as an excuse to not deal with his PTSD) after warning Zelda and the kingdom of Ganondorf's treachery preventing Hyrule's destruction that happened in the events of OoT fulfilling future Zelda's request to not let Hyrule be destroyed. However, Ganondorf may have had time to get in to touch the Triforce but not enough to awaken his triforce of power and destroy Hyrule. Why do we know that he had to have touched it while Link was locked away in this timeline? Because in the next game in the timeline Ganondorf already has the Triforce of power (seen in the memory sequences with the 6 sages). We already know that the Triforce doesn't split unless it is touched by someone unworthy. Only Ganondorf or Zelda could have touched the Triforce because they were destined to have it in OoT alongside Link who had already gone off in search of Navi but was still destined to get the ToC. Zelda isn't likely to have put her kingdom in danger by doing so, especially knowing the consequences from Link's warning meaning the only culprit that makes any sense would be Ganondorf. All other sources of theories backing the adult or downfall timelines are pure speculation because hacking is not in-gmae content, neither are amiibos, and neither are comparing maps to other games. There is no other evidence in BotW that can be used against the child timeline except for the existence of Koroks. However we know that the Koroks are simply transformations of the Kokiri which existed in OoT the source of the timeline split and there isn't anything indicating that these are Windwaker Koroks or that Koroks couldn't exist in any other timeline.That is the only solid evidence for the adult timeline but because of what was previously discussed it is weak especially considering the Koroks origins being the Kokiri. 1 to adult, 0 to downfall. That leaves evidence for the child. There are two clear and unarguable pieces of evidence showing that BotW has to be the Child timeline. Zelda references LoZ's timeline via three Legends: Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess. I know there is a second verse found in the code of the game but hacking into the code to find leftover scraps from development that isn't actually used in the game is absolutely NOT evidence. Therefore it would be irresponsible to treat that as "in-game" evidence when it isn't used in-game at all. There is one more piece of evidence and that is that the Arbiter's ground exists matching the arbiter's grounds from Twilight Princess. With 2 hard undeniable evidence based facts versus adults 1 and downfalls 0, the most likely timeline must be the child timeline. Everything else is speculation at best.
    You messed up #1 too. The assault on Ganon doesn't fail and then Ganon takes over the guardians and divine beasts. The assault failed BECAUSE Ganon took over the guardians and divine beasts. Since Ganon knew about them from the first time he fought them, they were used ten thousand years prior and had that whole time to figure out how to defeat them. There is no way anyone could could have read the future about what Ganon would do. The King explains as much when he tells you about it before you leave the great plateau. Furthermore, this was the King's decision not Zelda's as she was a child. Your first idea about her not allowing the Hero to do his job was valid this one is no one's "fault" and if anyone were to take blame it would be her father the King not the princess.
    I still appreciate this video. IT was pretty good at getting me to think and recall the different LoZ games. This makes me want to replay my favorites TP and SS (Wii controls were amazing experiences as long as you had the nunchuck plus attachment).

    About your last point: The Guardians and Devine Beasts were Zelda´s only hope to stop Ganon, because she wasn´t able to awake her powers. We see in countless memories how Zelda fails over and over again and how frustrated she is about that. She already gave her very best to awake her powers, but couldn´t until the last person she loved was nearly killed. I think, if the Guardians and the Devine Beasts weren´t found, Zelda would have collapsed under the presssure that layed on her shoulders and she would have never regained her powers and under that condition, Ganon would be never sealed away, because the princess with the sealing powers couldn´t use them. And so , Link surely would have been defeated and Ganon would have destroied Hyrule. Sure, Mipha, Urbosa, Daruk and Revali wouldn´t be killed, BUT the results are far more worse than the ones we know from Breath of the Wild, if there were no Guardians ore Devine Beasts

    Zelda didn’t really have any part in the discovery of the divine beast and guardians. She was under the age of six when the king decided to do so, so Zelda couldn’t have any part in it. Yes she was interested In the ancient tech, but she wasn’t the one who ordered to look for them, her father was, she had no part in that she’s just the princess so I doubt she’d be allowed to partake in such important decisions at the age of 16 or younger

      16? most versions of Link and Zelda are 16 or younger and it never stopped them from making important decisions before. Plus Zelda has the knowledge and blood of a literal goddess. and in most cases, the triforce of wisdom. wisdom that would give a little kid be more wise than most of the elders in Zelda games. Though, that isn't saying much.

    In the case of surrendering to Zant, I'd say she was justified, she didn't want to see her people slaughtered, so she chose to surrender without resistance to save them.

    Zelda has a attitude because her mother died who was supposed to teach her how to control her magic but, by her mothers death that pressured her in which made her mad at link because she tried so hard but yet she thinks of link as her own failures as shown in the first memory

    Okay, I might not know much about Zelda, but, based on what I know, heard and read in the comment section, I oppose the 10th theory.
    1. Some of the comment section says that Zelda had been put pressure on, that she lost her mother and that her father put pressure on her and so did the people and if that is the case, you can't really blame her. She must have been acting stubborn and how you guys described her to prove to people that she is not weak and is independent and is capable of doing her best without anyone's help.
    2. She also has a thousand things on her mind, and the biggest one is protecting Hyrule as the princess.
    3. Zelda feels insecure and made fun of and a good for nothing because of her dad for not understanding her.
