Thanks for the helpful tips here! And yes, I too need 100% immersion but I loose the keyboard. One tip for you: to close all app windows in VisionPro, “Hey Siri - close all windows”
Some apps support multi-window:
For Safari, Add a tab and drag the tab title bubble out into a new window.
For Files, long pinching on a sidebar items gives you an open in a new window option, you can also drag an item out of a folder into space to open it in a preview window.
For Notes and Mail, dragging the item from the list out into space should open a new window.

My favourite aspect is ‘freedom’.
1. No need to generate any boundaries to work, you can literally use it anywhere.
2. No need to limit yourself with number of apps and windows you can open. Any tabs can be dragged into new windows, any notes can be dragged i to new notes, etc.
3. You can arrange your world as much as you like. Apps can be pinned in any locations and in multiple rooms. They stick to their positions as long as you do not completely shutdown the device.
4. You can see and do things in your actual world very clearly with zero lag while still inside the virtual world.
5. Audio is super immersive. It puts spatial into reality.

I think apple will eventually have a native FCP app for the AVP in the near future. As far as your desk showing in full immerse environment will be an easy update for apple
I haven't gotten one yet, but love the idea. I am a writer and enjoy working out and about, as well as outside on my patio. For out and about trips I carry my iPad, and when I am going to either need two screens or work on something needing more power, I take my MacAir and iPad. If I am going to work on the patio, I literally drag my Mac (24 inch) out onto the patio with electric cords running everywhere. I see the Vision Pro as the perfect solution. I could pop it on anywhere and get to would. Would need to ensure that I have access to electricity, Thanks for a wonderful vision of what it could be like.

I open multiple safari windows in AVP all the time. It’s been there since launch.
100% bought the AVP for a work device and it has not disappointed!!
Finally someone using the AVP for productivity without just screen mirroring a Mac! This is what I wanted to see and I really think this is the future. I would appreciate a video with some in-depth detail about how the trackpad works in a document vs your eye tracking. Do they conflict with each other if you’re trying to move the cursor around text in a document or does the eye tracking take a back seat to the trackpad if your hand is on it?
Thank you! If your hand is on the trackpad it supersedes eye tracking. But Eye tracking seems to still be used for the rendering. It works very well together.
I can’t wait for more of your Vision Pro productivity guides like you’ve done for the iPads! I’m fully ready to abandon my Mac once this device reaches its potential with the subsequent OS updates.

I only did the Apple Vision Pro demo in the store. Can’t afford it right now. But, I’ve already convinced a couple people to try the demo themselves.

My fav from the list is the 'day ahead' app. Love the minimal UI approach! Even the field of view is bigger, you don't want it to be too cluttered.

Great video. I just wrote a comment that the AVP is the touch/Mac device Apple has been planning for 10 years. You love the iPad. If software from car manufacturers can remember every setting we prefer by driver, Apple should be able to create a “focus” mode for the window placements in the AVP.

I’m very excited for Vision Pro from a productivity standpoint. I tried the demo at the Apple Store and was really impressed.
Same. Apparently there are several drawbacks like somewhat buggy and inconvenient UI, insufficient interaction with other apple devices, and lack of native productivity toolkits. But the concentrative working environment it provides is pretty huge, and hurdles are mainly at software level so they should be solved in a foreseeable time window if it's the same Apple as usual
@@noctriccio far from inconvenient, the UI works for me very well. Its only very minor glitches are expected, it’s a version 1 OS. I would like to see more interaction with watch and homepod. iPhone or iPad though is not a priority because AVP is a stand alone system on its own.
This Apple Vision Pro is the first gen tout expensive not finished. Just wait for the 2nd gen more affordable in 2025
You can 3d print some spots so you can have 2 adjustable head hands perpendicular to each other
As for battery life, I have unlimited battery life while on the move with 2 packs of powerbanks. Needless to say I use it mostly in my living room and power is a big no concern since it keeps charging from the wall.

I don't have one, because here in germany it's not available yet and I don't have 3,5k or more to spend on a ar/vr headset 😅

the issue you solved about the solo knit band is an issue others have also run into. Their solutions were 3D printing type of clips that allow you to clip the band to a hat. You mentioned that you use the dual-knit band but maybe can use both and give your opinion that that might be helpful to people out there.
The keyboard bar reminds me of old word processors. Funny how things come back around
Thank you Chris for your video. I can't tell you how conflicted I have been over Vision Pro. I bought it on day one and ended up returning it. I loved using it and was trying to force it into my workflow but had just struggled to find that sweet spot in 2 weeks.. What I laugh about is that now that I have returned it, I find myself reconsidering my decision to return it. I'm starting to regret that I took it back. I love hearing that you have found it productive and helpful in your workflow.. Keep up the good work. BTW. If you see Microsoft release their "Remote Desktop" app for Vision pro, let us know. I need the ability to remote into my work computer at an ultrawide resolution.

What is that tray that connects the magic keyboard and trackpad?! I’ve been looking at 3D printable options.
Can Vision Pro connect to Home Pod, Sonos Soundbar, Home theater, etc.? And can it connect to 2 or more Macs? Also, is it possible to copy-paste links, text, and files from Mac to Vision Pro and vice versa?

Thank you for this video. Dark mode option would be helpful. It can be disconcerting with so much white light from apps beaming back into my eyes. In at least the work focus mode, having the option for widget and window spatial location, ‘memorization’ would be a timesaver daily or per battery swap.
Calendar sets tied to Focus Modes is one of Fantastical’s killer features!
Do we need to download the widgets we need? And are those made by independent developers or Apple?
A lot of commenters aren’t the early adopters they think they are, and plainly weren’t ready for a first gen device. It’s your mistake if you thought this product was an iPhone in 2024 when it’s more like one in 2009.
I’ve worn AVP at the Doctor’s office and my kids FLag Football game. And the funny thing only 2 people even acknowledged it.
I’m really hoping Apple is working up a huge visionOS update for us. You’re def calling out some things that I’m missing, too.

Final Cut Pro is one of the apps Apple was hyping up that we’d have at launch but they didn’t deliver. There were some third party ones too like Slack. And even the big tech press would have you believe we have Adobe Lightroom today, but I don’t think they ever checked the App Store before publishing.
For the dark mode complaint I’ve found turning on high contrast in accessibility gives all the windows that dark mode look.
How does Vision Pro work if you have 2 MBPs? I have two for work and would love to be able to pull up the screens at the same time or easily switch between the two as I need to change focus.
Btw... I see you are a keyboard collector ;) I use a Logitech PC keyboard on my Mac. Would you recommend the Apple Magickeyboard or rather another e.g. Logitech for Mac keyboard?

Have you tried using Mac Virtual Display to access Final Cut Pro?
I really wish those spatial sounds app used 3D visuals, for example, “rain noise” can be represented with a realistic floating rain cloud. 🤯
If don’t have to just peck at the virtual keyboard. You can simply look at the letter and tap to select it. It’s much much faster than pecking. But yeah nothing will beat a physical keyboard but I just wanted to through that out there

You can have a much bigger window on Vision Pro.
Is there an App to Mirror the Screen from a PC....??? For gaming from a standard PC/Laptop. I have seen people using it with PlayStation 5 streaming it to the Vision Pro.

Do you know that you can type on the keyboard by looking at a key and pinching?
Yeah, it takes a little practice, but this is exactly what I do for passwords or websites. Way easier than poking the keyboard.

It botheres me to no end that Apple didn't bother doing general keyboard tracking. It isn't as though it would have been that much harder to track other devices. After all, keyboards are almost all the same general design/shape/etc.

I agree that not seeing the clock and battery is annoying. But I prefer a single window like the ChargeTime app provides. Saves you space and requires no setup.
Yeah Widgetsmith updated after I made this video and there is now an all-in-one widget that does all of this. I’m using that not. I’ll cover it in a future video. Stuff is changing fast in visionOS apps.
My biggest con is the significant reflection/glare that I see when watching media in cinema / dark immersive environments. I don’t see any creators mentioning it but I’ve switched light seals and tried another demo unit at an Apple Store and I still see it. I wish someone had some feedback / tips for this. The workaround for me has been using lighter immersive environments but I want to use cinema and the theatre Disney plus environments.
Eventually you will forget about the reflection once you are immersed into what you are doing. That's aside effect of optical lenses. Even cameras worth thousands of dollars can't eliminate it.

At the system level there’s a brightness option

I think AVP does not default to Dark Mode because in dark environments you do get glare sometimes.
Why don't you use Final Cut Pro on your Mac connected to the Vision Pro?

I love using my Vision Pro but using a Magic Keyboard with it wasn’t the greatest for me. I can mostly type without looking but the keyboard area looked fuzzy to me.
Maybe it was something I was doing wrong or maybe not enough light on the keyboard
I switched to a keyboard with backlight keys much easier
This may sound stupid but im glad to know the thing works with people with giant hands like me
8:40 omg. I’ve been asking Apple for multiple audio playback sources for years on iOS like we can on our Mac OS. I listen to instrumental, dnb, electronic music from morning ,even listen to podcast or watching CZcams. On iOS I have play music on my iPhone to Bluetooth speaker and podcasts or CZcams on my iPod simultaneously. In the car this even more worst. Come Apple, give users multiple audio playback on iOS. Let’s all demand better feedback :)

While usb c data connect is unforgivable for a $3500 “computer”, there is airdrop, and Files app can access shared folders such as on Mac if on same network.

As someone with ADHD, do you find the VP to be more or less distracting with so many windows or workspaces open simultaneously? I would have thought a single screen would be preferable.
Could you imagine if it had type by sign language or offered swipe to type.
If I can get together enough money, I want to get a vision, Pro, and a MacBook, that I can have an enormous window to code on docs, or tutorials and another window, and CZcams, when they build an app, or music in the background, then it could be a mobile visually impaired programmer

This is the only video I see on CZcams that praises the AVP. I dunno, but I am not going to spend that kind of money on so many compromises
Probably more an artifact of the algorithm than reality. As a counterpoint, all I get is positive Apple Vision videos.
There are more positive AVP videos out there. Or maybe it’s just my feed. The more you watch about the negative ones the more CZcams gives you the negative ones. Go figure.
No it’s not. Only one screen on Mac. Can only be connected to one Apple ID so can’t use it for work. I’m constantly having issues with eye tracking. I have to reset every time I put the headset one. Definitely returning it
They don’t even have native Xcode either so it’s not like a real computer. Spatial computing? More like Spatial IPadding

I love it because I can move the window really close to my face protect me if you have dyslexia is very helpful. However I wish I could find a hack to make that strap better and take some pressure off my cheeks
Try the wider face shield. It’s in the Vision Pro box. Not sure if it will help or not, but it’s something to try.

This has to be one of the worst videos that you have created. You sound too much like an Apple fan boy and, I find it hard to believe that you have no problem wearing a headset for hours at a time. I am looking forward to seeing you opinion in a month from now after using this headset.
I literally wear mine nearly 8 hours a day. The dual loop made that possible for me and I upgraded that to a dual solo setup, which was even more comfortable.
