I just turned 40. I'm 6 ft tall. I've never played organized basketball at any level, but I've been playing street ball my whole life. I would challenge any WNBA player to a game of 1 on 1 for a million dollars RIGHT NOW. I will beat the brakes off any female basketball player on Earth. And I'm not even in the top 25,000 best male basketball players in the world. But I'm far stronger, can jump higher, and run faster than any current WNBA player. And I shoot better than most of them.
I've watched the WNBA. It's like watching a middle school boys JV team. This whole discussion is beyond buffoonery.
Even a mediocre boys high school basketball team would beat a WMBA team. A high school championship team would obliterate any WMBA team including an all-star WMBA team. With that said, they should play because the amount of money the WMBA could make is crazy. There should not be any shame in the losing to a high school champion team many are good enough to play in the NBA.
They should play because the sports books would take action on the game, and I can liquidate every last asset, sell my house, and bet every penny on the boys high school team, because I know the line would be WAY too low, and might even have the WNBA team as a slight favorite. Easiest money you'll ever make.
The tallest player on the WNBA championship team was 6'4. The top high school teams average height is 6'6". Not to mention the are faster, jumper higher, more lung capacity and have a better skills then the women. The women team would lose by more than 100. The wouldn't score more than 30.
The women would get out hustled the entire game. It would be comical midway through the first quarter. They would lose by 75.

Why not take the money and the audience if it is such an easy win? One million split amongst that roster is more than 3/4 of that roster made all year. Plus he mentioned monetizing it. I've seen tons of people saying they would pay to watch it. That is a huge bag for the woman's league. I’ve watched my High School team put on a full on 360, windmill, alley-oop dunk contest and they weren’t the Best Team in the State nor the DFW area.
I’ve seen plenty of Middle school and AAU games of boys throwing down sick dunks, somethings you Would NEVER SEE in the WNBA.
What is someone in the WNBA going to do against a 6’10” boy with the handles of a point guard and can dunk?

Micheal Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady, these were literally high school caliber players coming directly into the NBA, this isn't a contest. I think these ladies are crazy talented, but this is an ez million bucks. Rebounds will never happen for the women here as their overall avg height is 1 in taller than that of the male hs point guard and dunks, dunks, and did i mention dunks? Then there's simple facts that 1 side only shoots and the other is well versed in guarding shots. Whereas the other side is much taller and dunks, something even the best defensive players in the wnba all together on a team and they are still relatively inexperienced at guarding a true drive in. If your tallest person is 6,5 and their avg height is 6'4, it's going to be a horribly long night for you, just take the boys high skill out of the equation and that still rings some truth for basketball.
