We are to pray believing God does answer, yes prayer is about a relationship but it’s also about Him answering us
Tell that to someone who is in a dire situation and needs god to show up in a big way. I get what your saying but it’s both. Many examples in Bible of god answering prayer and doing things people couldn’t even imagine. Prayer isn’t just us getting closer to him and him never answering prayer. The whole point to pray is trusting god will answer your prayer and with that you get closer to him. What kills peoples faith is when god doesn’t answer prayer in time frame we want and then people can lose hope and worry and anxiety come in. A lot of people need to hear this message.

Even though I’ve been a Christian most of my life, I realize the trouble I’ve gotten myself into is probably a result of not actively giving God my day and talking with Him more throughout my day. I feel guilty about what I have allowed in my life. However, listening to this sermon, I believe the Holy Spirit impressed upon me that the reason things have happened is precisely because prayer needs to be more active in my life. Oh, it’s there, but it needs to be more. I also felt that God kind of released me from that guilt. I just need to really believe in that and act on it.

Lord, I want to be more aware of your presence in my life.
I feel bitter towards prayer. I feel like there are things I've been calling out to God for years about while I haven't seen significant changes. I feel bitter over being expected to pray continually while He or may not answer. I've been open and honest about these feelings with Him too. I don't feel guilty about not praying anymore b/c there's been several times I've made effort to sit with Him and didn't experience His presence or any insights whatsoever. I know what scripture says about praying always, but I've grown fatigued with it b/c things feel one-sided between us and I have perception that my concerns don't matter to Him. I was open on telling Him that I'll do it when I get around to it. This is the place I've been in.
I don't think Ive ever experienced the presence of God but I have had experience in circumstances. And in insights its always been passages in the Bible that presented themselves in answer so to speak. Rarely have I had an epiphany that just came to my mind. Life is tough and complex 4sure. Peace of Christ to you..
And the problem is always with us and not with him. We can be sure of that.
@@user-dq5rx7bv3x Yes, I've had this dialogue with Him too. I shared that no matter what, it seems like it's, as always our fault. Atleast we can be confident that God can handle our burdens , feelings, etc. regardless of if He responds or not , as He does welcome us to cast our cares on Him.
When we find ourselves in these cycles there is a lesson to be learned. What is troubling you in life and maybe I can help you if you’d like.
Oh yes totally get distracted in my prayers. Thoughts about so much,.so many people, things going on around the world,.sick was, fighting.. my mind wanders.

~19:00: I think many of us struggle with maintaining consistent with prayer because no matter how long, or how deep the heartfelt prayer is, most often than not, it doesn’t quite change things.
We have to trust in God's plan in our lives, He is faithful and never changes. Sometimes we have to be patient! Sometimes the things we pray for are not in His will. We serve a wonderful God who's thoughts are higher than ours. He always has your best interest at heart.
Jeremiah 29:12-13; "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

This has been my struggle lately. I've been feeling wearied of prayer and yesterday got angry and told God that I wasn't going to keep asking Hom for the same things anymore. I apologized, but decided that I'll approach it differently as far as not praying about the same things all the time andbjist focusing on praise and praying for others.

I’ve been talking to God about the same thing for four years. I’m always worried God is tired of hearing about it. But my heart has never stopped hurting over it, so I keep talking to Him about it, because I don’t know what else to do.
God is never tired hearing about it. He loves you so much! It's people who get tired not Him. You mentioned your heart has never stopped hurting over it. Maybe forgiving the person or yourself would help set you free! When we follow the Biblical Principle
Matthew 5:44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
A simple prayer of forgiveness, "In Jesus name, I forgive xxxx for xxxxxx(enter hurt) and Lord I forgive them and ask that you bless them."
That prayer allows the Lord to be able to move and heal your hurt because you followed his word, forgiving and blessing those that hurt you! I hope that helped!
