How to remove and install the driver-side airbag on a BMW E60 - 5 Series
Can you please help me I'm doing the same thing and only the right side of the the airbag pops out but the left side keeps being stick in there
where is the contacts or "ribbon" for the horn?
is it on the underside of the air bag or on the steering wheel?
I need to remove my airbag to try and fix a stuck horn! had to remove the fuse!
thanks is work i remove the blow air bag and replace.
@biggurs The procedure you are looking for can be found in our2004 - 2010 BMW 5 Series repair manual.
Is that all that is needed? Noting to do with the airbag deploying sensor or the ECU?
EXCELLENT
What is the replacement of the passenger airbag in the e60? You have to replace the entire dashboard or the pillow itself
You guys should create an application a CD or eBook instead of just having only a book
so easy! thanks
The electrical connectors (green and yellow) melts upon deploy for the E60 N52, where is that electrical kit sold?
1) which direction should the screwdriver be pushed down? up? left? right? 2) can you use a philips? 3) if very careful can one remove airbag without disconnecting battery. Assuming there is no intention to disconnect airbag wiring. I just want to level the steering wheel.
Even if this message is 3yo, I'll reply as it might be of help for some people.
1/ You have to use a thin flat head screwdriver. Insert it in the hole with the head at a 90 degres angles with the wheel plan (if you don't to that, the flat head can slide under the spring you have to push : it is a metal bar used as a spring). You have to push up until you can get the airbag out of its place (no click, no noise, no clue without pulling on the airbag).
2/ Highly probable you fail with a Philips head screw.
3/ I would not recommend that, as you will have to use some force to unmount the wheel, and might at some point hit the connector by mistake.
if a air bag deployed already do I need to change clock spring
No you don’t need to
Help me, I got no wires or anywhere to stick the wires in my steering wheel
Will this be the same for a 3 series bmw as well?
Thats it?? Wow it takes longer for me too take a dump than to change that 🤔
Wait... that's all? Lmao I'm stressing for no reason
Airbag can xplode due to static electricity. How to avoid that.
Disconnect battery, wait at least 30 minutes.
So useful. Se and do better
