We can solve things, me and my family members
buzzfeed true crime
I like how this is also a call out to any narcissist that wants to show themselves off. lol.
Intriguing...the black dahlia
I'm from Ohio that happened in Cleveland I was like wow
A shoutout to all the dedicated cops, family members, scientists, and others who made it possible to solve these cold cases. All the victims deserved to get their justice.
cops don't do shit
It's to bad one of the killers was a cop.
All them cops, who killed more than anyone on this list?
@@nicolenewsome4863 2 of them were cops

May the man who assisted Amanda Berry, her daughter and the other two ladies to escape that house have nothing but good things happen to him. ❤
Indeed
I love his “Dead Giveaway” interview.
May he forever be blessed by God on his entire life for his heroic actions in helping the girls escape
May his food always be delicious!
And his bed be the perfect temperature everytime
What makes me mad is that Ariel Castro held those women for years, but the coward couldn't last one year in prison.
I heard about him when I was in high school and that the women he kidnapped can't even get married! I didn't know he hung himself!
Or even one month for that matter.
Never even thought of that. He was clearly a weak a**hole & those girls were the epitome of strength.
@@jasonrandom372 Hmm.
IKR I really wanted him to get a taste of uninvited man love.
Rebecca did a great job in lowering the enunciation/volume in her narration to bring a solemn mood to the video. This is extremely difficult subject matter and watchmojo did an excellent job not making it feel sensationalized or soullessly commercialized.
The background music isn't great tho
@@iamV10010 Seriously. How hard is it to just have the video with narration? I don't get why there needs to be stupid music in the background. Even if the narrator does still sound like she gulped multiple espresso shots right before recording vids 😭
She is my favourite Watchmajo narrator
I was the same age as Jacob Wetterling and that case made me super aware of evil people, missing children, and unsolved murders. Definitely left an impact on my life even as a child.
I think the worst types of murder are the ones that go unsolved. There's so much suffering with friends and family who just want to know what happened to their loved ones. And the worst part is that there's at least one person who probably knows something, and is still out there today
Evelyn Colon’s Case should’ve been on this list, her case was so gruesome, she was also heavily pregnant 🤰 when she was murdered, she reminded unidentified for 44 years and was only know as “Beth Doe” until last year her alleged killer who was boyfriend is currently awaiting trial for Evelyn and their unborn daughter’s murder.
That's so sad what happened to her
@@angelaholmes8888 she got murdered.
@@angelaholmes8888 Evelyn was a pregnant 15 year old who was murdered by her boyfriend, the father of her unborn child. She remained unidentified for more than 40 years. He was arrested, but the last I heard he was out on bail.
Unfortunately, the case can't be considered solved until after the trial. There's no verdict yet. He sure looks guilty, but in the US, people are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Maybe it will be on the next list tho.
Etan Patz, the missing kid that started the face on the milk carton, I’m glad that the family finally got justice, even if it’s belated. I wish they would still put missing kids and at-risk adults on milk cartons- it could help solve some cases.
Same here. But I don't think they do that anymore.
They don’t cause the rate of kidnappings/murders are up and they have amber alerts, news and random articles and posts to reach more people now.
I don't know if it ever helped, did it? Kind of like the Amber Alert thing. Still, seems like it couldn't hurt.
There is no such thing as justice in the legal system, at least not in the US. Justice would be the killer suffering the same terror and pain he inflicted on that little boy.
@@robd5886I’m sorry but that’s not justice. That’s revenge. not saying I disagree that they should suffer though.
I am so surprised to see Joyce McLain on the list. I used to live in east milinocket 1 mile from schenk high school where she was murdered and found 2 days after being reported missing. My best friend Stormy is Joyces adopted sister and their family went through so much. Her mother Pam had to raise the rest of her kids in the same town where this man murdered her daughter and lived in the same town too right up until his arrest. I am just so happy Pam was able to find justice for Joyce, finally.
Did she really look 35 in high school?
My cousin and her boyfriend were murdered in 1977. They just solved it a year and a half ago.
Wow I’m sorry:( do you mind me asking what happened?
They went fishing and were found the next day. We always thought it random and at the wrong place at the wrong time. DNA technology narrowed it down to three brothers. Turns out, it was a neighbor of hers. He committed suicide just before he was arrested. Story is in Eugene Register Guard or local news stations if you want to google.
@@guitargirldad Thank you
When you mentioned the time that passed, I knew that DNA technology was part of the solution. That technology has solved a lot of these cases.
If I had to choose a murder to be solved it would be my son's father's death. He was missing for over 3 years before we found out about his death. His wife is still missing and his body is still in Quantico and yet to be released to his family. I miss him so much. I pray that it will be solved and our son will have justice eventually.
Los Cruces bowling alley murders. That haunting 911 call from the little girl who survived has always stuck with me. So heartbreaking for what she went through, but she survived. What an amazing fighter
I still remember those creepy police sketches of the killers they put on Unsolved Mysteries.
This is my #1 obsession case. I’d give anything to see it solved.
There should be no such thing as parole for murder ever.
Well done Mojo! Honorable honorable mentions: The Unabomber, the Grim Sleeper
Dishonorable mentions friend!
Ted Kazinski is his name.
I literally live blocks from from where the Grim Sleeper lived! One of his victims was literally left in front of my best friend’s house the year before he moved in there in the ‘80s., which is close to where Reginald Denny was beaten during the L. A. Riots.
@@AntonXul small world
I would so love to see JonBenet Ramsey's case solved. So sad 😢
it was the brother....... and the parents tried to cover it up....
explains the ransom note and everything else.....
@@chrismeulen8108 this was a theory, no hard evidence! He was never arrested, convicted, sent to trial and found guilty, so case not solved.
Her brother killed her. It’s sad he wasn’t convicted (and thus considered unsolved) but that’s just the truth of the matter and all evidence points to this. Sadly, they can’t use DNA cause he lived there too so it would’ve been everywhere. Authorities just can’t *prove* it but it’s so clear that he did it. Casey Anthony wasn’t found guilty either but… we all know she did it. OJ wasn’t convicted despite DNA evidence because it wasn’t trusted or understood by the public (therefore, the jury) yet. It’s just one of those things. Sometimes people get away with things they clearly did. 😢
Me too it's also been 4va
@@kate3024 it was the brother and was covered up on so many levels the sperm DNA “found on” her was from like 8 different samples it was planted evidence look up the interview with the single cop they sent to the house the brother beat her into the hospital multiple times the ransom note was in the mothers handwriting they had bought plane tickets to flee the country it was a family with $ and they payed off a lot of people didn’t want their only son left to go away for the rest of his life and that press after their other daughter was killed by her brother really sad case the mother has past away and the father is really old now truth will never come out
If there is one cold case that needs to be solved, it’s the case of The Oakland County Child Killer. The families of the four children who were killed by the killer deserve closure
Being from Michigan, that is one we still want to know.
As a young person who lives in Oakland county, I hope this case gets solved someday
@@JigsawJoe13 same. I’m a Michigander too
@@shoshanaloomer if cases like the Golden State Killer or other cold cases like it can be solved, this case can be solved too
@@joshuamohlman let’s hope so
On #20, I am shocked it took so long to figure out the boyfriend did it! I mean, rule #1 in a police investigation is to check out the significant other of the victim!!!
you'd still need evidence,
let alone good evidence to be able to convict someone with.
They probably knew. However, in criminal law, it doesn’t matter what the perp (allegedly) did. It matters what you can prove.
About 15 years ago, I actually lived roughly 3 blocks from BTK in Park City, KS. I had no idea until after he was caught and it came out where he'd been living (I never met him). So weird to know that!
When I think about that case I feel so bad for Vicki Lynn Wegerle's family because her case (she was murdered on September 16, 1986) wasn't recognized as a "BTK" killing, so her husband (and kids because they were raised by him after her death) lived under a cloud of suspicion until his late wife's driver's license was found amongst Rader's trophies...
A woman doing her family ancestry and DNA helped solved a 1986 case where a young couple was murdered. Their story was featured on Unsolved Mysteries, but is wasn't until 2017/2018 when the case was solved
Just when I thought Patton Oswalt and his family couldn't be any cooler, I find out his late wife was the one who named the Golden State Killer
Hearing Peter Thomas’s voice open a true crime WatchMojo list was just fantastic. This is a great video. My picks for cold cases is like to see solved: the boy in the box, Delphi, the young siblings in Australia ( I can’t remember their names, really old case)
Yes the Boy in the Box that’s a heartbreaking case.
My guess the Australian case is the Beaumont children
the boy in the box has been solved now, his name is joseph zarelli. they’re trying to get into contact with the family now
Richard Allen is currently on trial for the Delphi murders of Abigail Williams and Liberty German
@@gracieisbored9191 Well, he’s been fortunately identified, poor child, but what exactly happened to him to end up in that box and by whom hasn’t been definitively solved.
The look on the face of "The Golden State Killer" is just a single word for me...
*_"Huh?"_*
He *NEVER* thought he'd be caught, so he was still in disbelief when they snapped that pic!
As my stepbrother would say, “He looked like he just $#!+ a brick!”
…My stepbrother’s words, not mine.
Cases i want to see solved: Johnny Gosch and The Springfield Three.
And Maura Murray. That one always fascinated me.
I'm definitely hoping they'll solve the cases of Jon Benet Ramsey and Amber Hagerman ( the Amber Alert system is named after her and her murder remains unsolved).
Is that where that came from?
I feel like an idiot but I thought it was referring to the color amber.
Like red alert, yellow alert, etc.
@@alonealien1474 Well yeah, I know that NOW.
@@AJDaniels5298 Wow! Well, I'm sorry that I wanted to add to the info just in case anyone else stumbles across this comment. Never mind.
@@alonealien1474 I think you took that wrong. I meant it in a playfully sarcastic way.
She's buried in the samecemetery as Dimebag and Vinnie Paul.
Great video! For as big of a crime buff as I am, i hadn’t heard of a few of these!
The boy in the box … that’s the case I wish could finally be solved
Genetic genealogy finally identified him! Joseph Augustus zarelli is his name. It’s not solved but atleast we found out his real name.
Yeah I remember that case I remember reading it and crying that poor baby he Went through so much and then ended up dying. Was that the better way to go question? Mark. He was being molested all his life. I hate people sometimes
There really is no punishment severe enough for BTK.
I think daily beatings with an aluminum baseball bat, 24/7 noise torture, dental procedures with no anesthesia, baths in wolf piss, and a permanent spiked buttplug would be a start.
OKI know I'm not there in the position at this moment. But I have been in positions where it was put up a fight with the Person or be subject to their violence. I just feel if there is 2 or 3 Of you and there's only one person that is attacking you somehow. You need to Gang up on this person
I am sorry I forget her name....but a few years after we graduated, a girl I went to high school with, was stabbed 14 times in the chest, and they ruled it a suicide. I think they were beyond wrong
Same here my friend from high school was killed and no one knew where she was ..her killer had killed before her :-(
How in the fuck can they call that a suicide?$?!?
How can someone commit suicide by stabbing themselves......14 times? 🤔
How are you gonna go stabbing yourself more than once or twice and who even DOES that?
@@carolannpacificadam1944 that’s terrible… I’m so sorry to the both of you
I really want to see the case of the boy in the box solved
Me too! I would think with genetic genealogy, that would be possible.
Same here.
I’m a Philadelphian, we do too. Still can’t believe no one ever reported him missing, someone just knows something
That’s why I think it was the parents. (Whoever they were)
they finally revealed his name after all these years
I do door to door sales and spoke with the golden state killer before he got caught in Sacramento
It breaks my heart that cases that are now decades old have a harder chance to see justice because the perpetrators die free
Cases I want to see solved: Johnny Gosch, the Iowa paper boy and the Delphini murders.
Des Moines Iowa
The cold case I’d be hoping to see you get a break in is the case of Mickelle Biggs kidnapped from Mesa Az in the early 90’s. I was around same age and lived in same neighborhood. A lot of us from that neighborhood still often wonder what really happened
What cold case do i want solved? i think lots can agree we wanna find the zodiac killer. As well as the 'down the hill' guy
That's already done. Just the other year.
6 months for murder? That’s disgusting.
I would have loved to see the expressions on the perps faces when they were arrested!!
I hope these cases getting solved brings closure to the family and the victims wherever their at.
Need to find out what happend with the Delphi murders
You got your wish
Shoutout to the narrator!! 💯 She did an amazing job.
I really hope they’ll solve the Zodiac killer case.
Or the Villisca Axe murders
I live near Westfield, NJ and have driven by where John List lived. It's a beautiful neighborhood, this street in particular. Even though the original house burned down, I still felt uneasy! Westfield also has The Watcher. Buzzfeed has a YT video about it
I honestly don't know how anyone would still be able to function as a normal human being after being held hostage in captivity for that long the absolute torture they would have been subjected to would break most other people.
Lots of therapy
Imagine Colleen Stan - kept in a BOX for hours and hours at a time. Prisoner for 7 years I think. She finally convinced the wife to let her escape.
The cold case of Abby and Libby German. I have been waiting for a break and an arrest in that case since I have heard about it.
They made an arrest in that case 2 weeks ago
They didn't put the Colorado Hammer Killer in there. He was a serial killer that killed whole families with a hammer in the early 80's and was just recently caught.
How BTK got caught just makes me laugh. All the ominous mysterious killings by this unknown danger and he had a clean break too and he ended up trolling himself.
I don't know what you're talking about so I want to read about that
@@peggyjones9080 he reignited his reign of terror and talked to the police, taunting them like it was a battle of wits. The police managed to convince him to send in a floppy disk and BTK TRUSTED them when they said they couldn't trace it if he did.
P.S. they were able to trace the metadata on the disk to BTK's church and BTK was imprisoned.
There’s one case that’s solved but officials can’t confirm even though his own son solved it and it’s The Black Dahlia Case
There are holes in the son’s story. I’m not convinced.
@@donnadrane4977 what are the holes? I low key wanna know, since this guy was a murder suspect, had painting that had heavy similarities to the poses the bodies were left, forced himself to his own daughter, was a Surgical professional, and there’s a photo with him and the murder victim that was found after he died
@@angelpena6198 The photos he had were not of the Black Dahlia. Yes, he may have killed his secretary and he was a sicko but it was not proven conclusively that he killed Elizabeth Short. His son Steven Hodel thinks otherwise, but other investigators have said there are inconsistencies. There is a book by Mary Pacios about this case. She grew up with Elizabeth Short. It’s worth reading if you can find it.
Waiting for this premiere is like waiting for the ball to drop on New Year’s Eve.
Awesome list so glad some people got closure 🙏
Good video Mojo 🇬🇧🏴🖖
I was born in Des Moines in 1980. My entire childhood, Johnny Gosch was THE cautionary tale. Still unsolved.
Eugen Martin also
Hope yall do more of these
While not officially solved YET (and there will likely not be full justice in specific cases), the Lady of the Dunes, the Boy in the Box and the Somerton Man, have all received their names
Thank you, WatchMojo!
Every time a true crime WatchMojo list comes out, I read the comments and there are always people, who witnessed some of the crimes or crime sprees, knew the killers or victims personally or had acquaintances, who knew them. It really is a small world.
Damn watch mojo has been on a roll latley
Brittanee Drexel should be on this list too.
Rochester NY! 😥😢🙏
The case of Madeline McCann I want to see solved.
Shout out watch mojo for being at it for nearly 20 years!
I feel bad for all the innocent deaths! I also feel bad for the kidnapping! Why would people kill or kidnap besides having a divorce?! I can't believe these things happen! Shame on those killers or kidnappers. I heard about Ariel Castro when I was in high school and that the women he kidnapped can't even get married! I didn't know he hung himself! I'm glad all these cases are finally solved.
Josef fritzl case too
Ilene Beth Mischeloff (not certain of the spelling), 13 year old girl who disappeared from Dublin CA in 1989 from the local ice rink.
Haven't heard of it being solved, or anything being found.
It's a case that has stuck with me for the past 30+ years bc my friend & I were walking about the town after we got out of school; we were trying to decide where to stop for lunch.. the next day at school, we were both a bit freaked out, asking ourselves & one another if we'd seen _anything_ because that poor girl's photo was all over the television.
I still spot her missing posters occasionally.. I'm just shattered if there hasn't been any developments in her case.
Were the West Memphis Arkansas triple murders ever truly solved? Steven Edward Branch, Christopher Mark Byers & James Michael Moore deserve justice as well.
Also, JonBenet Ramsey.
Gone but never forgotten, sweet children. 💔💔💔💔🥀🥀🥀🥀
There’s something so wicked and heartbreaking about how quite a lot of these murderers have some sort of affiliation with church, the last place you’d expect to find a killer.
I’m saying this as a Christian myself, not to attack anyone’s faith, but more highlighting how people use religion to justify these evil crimes😔😔😔
I wish they resolved the boy in the box.
watching the List Murders episode on Forensic Files was creepy af
Him leaving religious music blasting over the house speakers while his family was laid out dead in the ballroom was extra creepy.
This list was that of a terrifying nightmare fuelgasm.
I want them to slove notorious big and Tupac Shakur
I just find solving solutions interesting. We have so many more things to help with solving than when I was younger.
The Somerton Man in Australia was solved too.
My great grandmother was murdered in 1946. In a small town in Ohio. It's a cold case. I know my family will never know who killed her, but I wish we could find out.
Sooner or later the truth will come out
Don't laugh at this idea but you could actually start looking yourself with all the technologies that we have you could actually Find out
Whoever's reading this, I pray that whatever you're going through gets better and whatever you're struggling with or worrying about is going to be fine and that everyone has a fantastic day!
Thank you very much. How could you know a year ago that I would need this today? Anyway thanks again!
I'm appalled at all of the confessions to religious leaders and groups that went unreported for years
I'm surprised the identification of the Somerton Man isn't on this list.
Love seeing all these cold cases getting solved thanks mostly to genetic genealogy. DNA is fascinating, it's mad what they can do with such evidence now. Just a shame it doesn't help with high profile cases where there is no DNA evidence to examine or much of any other evidence to help solve it either. Can think of a few I'd love to see solved off the top of my head.
A 12 year sentence is absolutely disgusting, no matter how old or young someone is, they should get a fair sentence. 12 years is simply not enough.
Will be watching this right after the Alabama game roll tide
It was never a cold case but the Daniel Morcombe murder is the one that chills me the most because it happened here in Queensland 🇦🇺 where I live
Jill Dando, this case will never ever be sold because of circumstances involving the British authorities
I just want to say what a brilliant idea to put cold cases on playing cards then give them to prison inmates in hope to solve cases and it worked 👏#coldcasecards
Pretty sick how several of these cases were cold for decades. Even after the murderer had confessed to catholic priests and they decided not to say anything. They should have been charged as well for knowing about a murder and covering it up.
You know what I am so sick of that priest crap I think somehow They can write a letter to the police and Don't sign it there's just certain things that those Priest can do i'm sick of it
20 cold cases solved, Boy would Lilly Rush be proud!
One of my favorite shows ever! Rewatching on the Roku channel. Middle of season 3.
I remember seeing Joyce McLain on Unsolved Mysteries I’m glad that case was solved
RIP to all the victims
I love your videos.
My dad grew up in Westfield, NJ (he was a teenager when the List murders happened) and always talked about John List.
My brother's best friend pulled our family into a very F****D up murder. He told my brother all about what he was going to do the day before he did it but my brother didn't believe him and thought it was just a weird and sick joke, He soon found out otherwise.
I hate the fact that people that commit terrible crimes like murder can get off easier than what they would've been just because they helped the police out a little bit or pleaded guilty. That should not be possible.
The background music is amazing
OMG, the thumbnail guy looks like Alan Rickman playing Rasputin.
I guess I heard about List as soon as he was captured, but I've only heard recently in one recollection that the glass dome ceiling to a walkway in the house or something was an original Tiffany's and he could have sold it for well over a milion bucks, had he known, and pay off his debt and have plenty left over.
I also recall that.
I hope Brown's Chicken massacre is on this list it happened in Palatine Illinois
Amanda Berry’s phone call to the police after she’d escaped is one of the most powerful life-affirming yet horrifying things I’ve ever heard. She was so understandably exhilarated to be free.
I already knew that some of theses Cases were already Solved, but it took Decades for theses Case's to be Solved! I hope that their are more Videos like this or other Different types of Videos.
Never give up…….and Rader being caught like that…..is just awesome…….now if we could figure out the Las Cruces bowling alley murders……that’d be great……
these are the reasons why I always tell loved ones I love you before leaving the hosue or going out anywhere or when they leave no matter how angry I am. Last words are important
Great video. No stupid movie clips.
Pls do a part 2 of unsolved murder cold cases that were solved decades later
Oklahoma "Missing In-Laws" case from Unsolved Mysteries. All 3 skeletons recently found under septic tank.
Killers: HA! No one will solve the murder I commited!
DNA testing: *Oh hello there!*
Look at that thumbnail , how about inviting those 2 to your next cookout ...SHAZAM ! .
