If you love the Makeup by Mario Skin Enhancer as a bronzer, I HIGHLY recommend getting a lighter shade and using it as a skin tint/foundation all over. It was one of my faves in 2023....blurring effect with the just the right amount of glow. ❤

Queen of application footage!!! Thanks for all of your amazing videos this past year, Kait! You give some of the best reviews in the game and have connected me with so many of my favorite products. Side note, Surratt does make palettes that fit 2 or 3 blushes, but they are annoyingly expensive at $20 to $25. I’m interested in trying a surratt blush, but I don’t like that I have to buy 2 expensive blushes and a $20 empty compact if I want nicer packaging. I also have a Romand blush in a very pale peach color. It’s honestly too light on its own, but brushed over another blush, it gives the most gorgeous blurred effect.

The Surratt goes into a palette and is designed to go alongside another blush or two eyeshadows. The palettes though are not magnetised so I have no idea how it’s all meant to stay put! Love the formulas though of all surratt products.
If you haven’t tried the Ulta beauty matte cream eyeshadows, you are missing out! I heard about them from Amanda Z and they are amazing. Creamy, blendable, but long wearing. The colors Vintage Beauty and Throwback are my two favorites. I think they are 8 bucks!!

Have you tried MOB beauty?! You would probably love the cream clay shadows. We seem to have very similar tastes when it comes to makeup and they do not disappoint!
The regular line is SO boring but the collab they came out with for Jessica Haze are awesome! No creasing..I just make sure to blend them out with a fluffy brush and they last all day! You can also use a finger but I usually go back when I’m done and tap out any creasing and it’s bulletproof. I have super oily skin also!

Is the ami cole lip oil similar to the livetinted huegloss? I bought the huegloss on your recommendation and ADORE it, but if the ami cole is similar then I'd rather stay with livetinted than a product that will expire so quickly I can't afford to repurchase it constantly lol
No they're completely different. Ami Cole is very sticky, like a gloss mixed with a balm, and it smooths the lips with a glass-like shine. the Live Tinted hueserum is like a cushiony lip serum with some slip.

Yes! I found the color science mineral sunscreens to be wayyyyy too slippery and the skinceuticals (and colorescience, any product that has a thin, runny mineral consistency) always looks terrible on my skin. My favorite mineral sunscreens are featured at the end of my 'best skincare of 2023' video :)
I don’t think you took a breathe during this entire video LOL! If anyone has issues with transfer of the Thrive mascara like it does for me but you love how it looks, try the Gucci mascara. It’s not tubing but it’s lengthening and beautiful.

No! It’s my favorite primer, it’s just not a daily essential because I have combination skin and generally prefer a soft matte base. I reach for face glaze on days when my skin is dull, but honestly I use it more regularly as a luminous body cream on my legs, chest, and arms.
Does anyone have BareMinerals Opal Glow and Peach Glow? I have Peach Glow, and I wonder how different they are on a skin tone like Kait’s? This video makes me want Opal Glow too… 🙈 I absolutely love how you timeline stamped every single product - and that you show clips of swatches and applications even though you have separate videos on many of the products too! Great video! I selfishly hope you’ll review the Florasis Retro Brown palette at some point, as I’d love to have your opinion on it helping me decide whether it would live up to my expectations or not.

I’m interested in some of your recommendations including Em cosmetics and the Vieve pencil. However, I must tell you that I have a pan of the Merit eyeshadow (color midnight) and it dried out within five months and is completely unusable.
Surrat products are meant to be put in their empty palettes that they also sell, (or in whatever empty palette you may want to put your single items in if you are a makeup artist for instance). So they dinky plastic container is not meant to be kept or keep the product in. The sticker underneath is to be removed and under you find the glue that you use to stick it to their pans that are not magnetic. That is also why it’s in two parts so you still will be able to see then name on the product if you need to take it out of the pan again. Or if you want to put that part of the sticker on the back of the compartment so you can find the name. For the life of me I have never understood why they have not abandoned the glue system and instead opted for a magnetic container for the product. But most people who do use Surratt and have more than one blush or eye shadow from them usually put them in other palettes and stick a magnet on them to make it easier to move them around between palettes.
@@StateofKait whether you or anybody else likes it is another issue. That was not the reason I responded. I responded because in your video you clearly didn’t seem to know and you even asked a question about it wondering if there might be some other case. It also became more apparent when you were irritated about the sticker not being straight. Which is not there to be kept on, hence is not part of the aesthetic. And since some of many of your viewers also might wonder, I thought it might be helpful to know. Whether or not it’s the best form of packaging or not is another issue. But to comment on that - it has been around since before you probably began to wear makeup and it’s been exactly the same since they launched the brand. So a qualified guess is that enough people have been ok with it over the years for them not to feel a need to change their compartment system. And for all those who have been using his products over the years it might also be a problem if they suddenly began doing their compartments in a different fashion. But perhaps you could ask them and give them your feedback? They have a very nice customer service. I was only offering some information mostly for the purpose of your viewers. As knowing the plastic wrapping on the products when you buy the pan is not a compartment to keep the product in may be important so you don’t just toss it in your makeup bag… Also that there are compartments for them if one should choose to buy one or if one wants to stick it into a generic palette might be helpful to know? And you did not provide an answer to it in your video. Hence my comment.

Ahhhh! I have the live tinted concealer in 20 and it’s a perfect base color match! Only issue is that under my eyes it melts my waterproof mascara! 😢 Still love it though, I just need to figure out how to use it best!
I love these videos. I know you've had the Saie blush highlighter for awhile now, have you noticed it going off in smell yet? Clean brands and products make me nervous about product longevity as someone who doesn't go through makeup as quickly as the average person :/ But they look so good that I want to try!
Charlotte Tilbury just sent an email this weekend saying the matte blush wand in Pillow Talk is back in stock! So maybe it's not limited edition anymore? If you need a dupe NYX has a cream blush in a nude shade that looks just like it on the cheek.
Yay! Maybe they were just trying to cause a scarcity mindset. I did try the NYX cream blush in nude tude but the color was significantly warmer than pillow talk on my hand so I didn’t buy it.
Love Surratt formulas but their packaging is the worst. They're meant to be put in palettes using the sticker on the back which means they are stuck where you put them and then cant see the name. Dunno why they didnt just make them magnetic. Their eyeshadows are the same.

The regular line is SO boring but the collab they came out with for Jessica Haze are awesome! No creasing..I just make sure to blend them out with a fluffy brush and they last all day! You can also use a finger but I usually go back when I’m done and tap out any creasing and it’s bulletproof. I have super oily skin also!

Is the ami cole lip oil similar to the livetinted huegloss? I bought the huegloss on your recommendation and ADORE it, but if the ami cole is similar then I'd rather stay with livetinted than a product that will expire so quickly I can't afford to repurchase it constantly lol
No they're completely different. Ami Cole is very sticky, like a gloss mixed with a balm, and it smooths the lips with a glass-like shine. the Live Tinted hueserum is like a cushiony lip serum with some slip.

Yes! I found the color science mineral sunscreens to be wayyyyy too slippery and the skinceuticals (and colorescience, any product that has a thin, runny mineral consistency) always looks terrible on my skin.

I don’t think you took a breathe during this entire video LOL! If anyone has issues with transfer of the Thrive mascara like it does for me but you love how it looks, try the Gucci mascara. It’s not tubing but it’s lengthening and beautiful.

No! It’s my favorite primer, it’s just not a daily essential because I have combination skin and generally prefer a soft matte base. I reach for face glaze on days when my skin is dull, but honestly I use it more regularly as a luminous body cream on my legs, chest, and arms.

I’m interested in some of your recommendations including Em cosmetics and the Vieve pencil.
However, I must tell you that I have a pan of the Merit eyeshadow (color midnight) and it dried out within five months and is completely unusable.
Mine are still good and I got them when they first launched, but I am definitely concerned they may dry out.

Surrat products are meant to be put in their empty palettes that they also sell, (or in whatever empty palette you may want to put your single items in if you are a makeup artist for instance). So they dinky plastic container is not meant to be kept or keep the product in. The sticker underneath is to be removed and under you find the glue that you use to stick it to their pans that are not magnetic. That is also why it’s in two parts so you still will be able to see then name on the product if you need to take it out of the pan again. Or if you want to put that part of the sticker on the back of the compartment so you can find the name. For the life of me I have never understood why they have not abandoned the glue system and instead opted for a magnetic container for the product. But most people who do use Surratt and have more than one blush or eye shadow from them usually put them in other palettes and stick a magnet on them to make it easier to move them around between palettes.
I understand that but I don’t like it for the price. It makes NO sense that they don’t offer single packaging for people who don’t want a palette.

I responded because in your video you clearly didn’t seem to know and you even asked a question about it wondering if there might be some other case. It also became more apparent when you were irritated about the sticker not being straight. Which is not there to be kept on, hence is not part of the aesthetic. And since some of many of your viewers also might wonder, I thought it might be helpful to know. Whether or not it’s the best form of packaging or not is another issue. But to comment on that - it has been around since before you probably began to wear makeup and it’s been exactly the same since they launched the brand. So a qualified guess is that enough people have been ok with it over the years for them not to feel a need to change their compartment system. And for all those who have been using his products over the years it might also be a problem if they suddenly began doing their compartments in a different fashion. But perhaps you could ask them and give them your feedback? They have a very nice customer service. I was only offering some information mostly for the purpose of your viewers. As knowing the plastic wrapping on the products when you buy the pan is not a compartment to keep the product in may be important so you don’t just toss it in your makeup bag… Also that there are compartments for them if one should choose to buy one or if one wants to stick it into a generic palette might be helpful to know? And you did not provide an answer to it in your video. Hence my comment.

Ahhhh! I have the live tinted concealer in 20 and it’s a perfect base color match! Only issue is that under my eyes it melts my waterproof mascara! 😢 Still love it though, I just need to figure out how to use it best!
I love these videos. I know you've had the Saie blush highlighter for awhile now, have you noticed it going off in smell yet? Clean brands and products make me nervous about product longevity as someone who doesn't go through makeup as quickly as the average person :/ But they look so good that I want to try!

Charlotte Tilbury just sent an email this weekend saying the matte blush wand in Pillow Talk is back in stock! So maybe it's not limited edition anymore? If you need a dupe NYX has a cream blush in a nude shade that looks just like it on the cheek.
Yay! Maybe they were just trying to cause a scarcity mindset. I did try the NYX cream blush in nude tude but the color was significantly warmer than pillow talk on my hand so I didn’t buy it.

Love Surratt formulas but their packaging is the worst. They're meant to be put in palettes using the sticker on the back which means they are stuck where you put them and then cant see the name. Dunno why they didnt just make them magnetic. Their eyeshadows are the same.
