- Long Rock Train, Matching Locomotives, Short Line Railroad Action In Ohio! This is the rock shuttle train on the Cincinnati Eastern Railroad that runs between Plum Run, Ohio and Milford, Ohio on the Norfolk Southern Peavine Line. The train crosses a few railroad crossings with plenty of horn and it crosses a railroad bridge over Sicily Road near Sardinia, Ohio. Check out the 1930 tie plates still in use! First, we see the train crossing Gay Street in Williamsburg, Ohio. We see the abandoned railroad defect detector, the glass insulators and the leaning poles of Williamsburg. Next, we go to Mount Orab, Ohio to watch the train at the Rt 68 highway crossing. We see the train cross a railroad bridge and then we see the train at a nice railroad crossing in Sardinia, Ohio. Video also includes a group of motorcycles on a special run in Macon, Ohio and a look at a high and wide load being unloaded at the Sardinia Wye. The train stopped in Macon on Friday evening and then left Macon to resume its trip on Sunday. The Sunday action was broken up into Parts 1, 2 and 3. Check out those 3 videos to see switching action in Peebles and Plum Run at the quarry.
This video was filmed on Friday, July 8, 2022AD
Don't forget about Chessie and Norfie at the end of the video and please leave a comment!

Great blast from the past
never tire from seeing SD-40-2 in action -- iconic industrial silhouette
It sounds really good also
SD40-2*
39 cars on the train. With two smart looking locos. Good to see the traffic on CCET. Glad the railroad ties are becoming a regular load. It'll be good when Purina get the new factory open as I would think that will generate even more traffic. Norfie gets to be a real softie, what a lovely cat she's become.
Purina will really keep this line busy. That will be interesting. Norfie is a good cat and I'm glad she showed up here. I had been thinking about getting a cat but I didn't know what my dogs would do. They were good to her from the start. That surprised me
Your short line vids with the history of your area are 20 times more interesting than watching a mainline train that takes 15 minutes to go by.
I counted 39 cars. Thanks for the upload Jawtooth.
Thanks JT, nice to see some railroad history still getting some use, some that isn’t and sad some being disrespected. Good to see this short line alive and well , and upgrading their tracks. Good job Jawtooth.
Thanks for watching Nancy! I just posted another one
Old line ...still in use ...too Kool..hope for us old folks
I gots 39 cars and 2 engins. Thanks for what you do...
Jaw Tooth, super cool video. I caught a military train and a industrial transformer car as a high and wide
In the UK, we call those derailers "catch points". Great video
Jawtooth video and a strong cup of coffee is a great way to spend a little time in the morning.
Thanks again for sharing another great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Those were some fast moving gates!
Hi Jaw Tooth and everyone else. I hope you had a good weekend.
You too!
A bush and old railroad on running long train . Very good seen thank you very much .
Thank you too!
A line that certainly has its share of mystical and historical elements. When you shot the other side it was amazing how one of the covered hoppers went from almost nothing to a full blown mural. Staying just one step ahead of the train. Glad you're persistent. Glad to see Norfie reading. That's what teachers reccomend for the summer..
That car that says something like Moxy on the side of it is in several other videos of mine. I remember that one. They painted the entire side of it
@@JawTooth that MOXY car has definitely has some miles on it. Bcuz for some reason I was thinking I'd seen it somewhere b4. And that was it, bcuz I've watched a lot of your videos.
GREAT shots and thanks for sharing, JT! That Sardinia trestle bridge was really scenic. LOVE those small Midwestern towns almost as much as the country scenery and the trains. I hope no dogs come after you when you are filming near the homes.
Glad you enjoyed it! I have had a few dogs come up to me but I haven't got bit.
@@JawTooth Glad to hear that all the dogs that have come up to you are friendly, though they should not be running loose, of course. I worked in parks for 20 years in San Jose, CA. and had to deal with loose dogs almost every day. Thank God I never got bit but I had a couple of close calls.
25 hoppers, 9 covered hoppers, and 4 gons. Nice train!
That old line is so cool, all the old signals and detectors and things! So glad it wasn't abandoned! Thanks for sharing it with us Jawtooth!
Thanks for watching
Another awesome video from Jaw Tooth 😊👍👍👍👍👍👍
Good morning to all from SE Louisiana 11 July 22.
Good morning Bill!
Many want to tour the country in an rv or on a motorcycle. I think JawTooth would rather have his own loco to tour the country in. 😆 Thanks for the great vids.
That would be cool! Let me cruise the American rail system
Thanks for the return to watching 👀 Cincinnati Eastern Railroad locomotives 🚂 sorry to hear the defect detector being vandalized, trying to remember what they look like 👍 normally. Does look pretty damp locally for you.
Been raining in New Zealand for a week now.🌂🌈🌩
Thanks for the Norfolk - Western signal tower 🚦🚂
You mentioned solar power was trying to get a foot hold locally, seems still controversial 🤔
The cat & dog show never disappoint.
Norfie & Sophie are both at ease.
Chessie still in charge of the welcoming committee for the front gate despite the weather.
Thanks for keeping us all entertained, even when its four-seasons-in-one-day.
Take care, Vernon.
Love the history Brian of the old equipment NS used in the day. Most vandalized aong the track now. The stone query is really doing plenty of business with the CCET hauling out rock and now the new customer with the railroad ties added business. Great to see!
I have some great video of them switching at the quarry that I will post soon. It was really cool how they did it. I have some good shots of the train passing through Lawshe and Peebles to post
You are so faithful thank you for giving us great videos.
I appreciate that
Thanks for the share JT. boy norfie has turned into a beautiful cat.... catch ya on the next one.
Thanks for watching !
Great catch of the CET rolling through w a 39 car mixed freight consist! Glad to see business picking up for CET especially when the PURINA PLANT opens! That'll certainly bring in some good revenue! I'd still like to be living in that house by the tracks in the last part of the video lol! Thanks again for sharing your videos with us along with your time and effort JT!
Thanks! You too!
I'm starting to catch up on the latest three videos featuring these cool-looking black&red locos right now; Thank you for those, Brian! 😀👍 It's also nice to watch stuff being filmed in warm Summer weather while here in NZ it's the middle of Winter, which means a lot of rain and wind and temperatures around 50°F. Please make sure to stay hydrated on water during that heat! Cheers, V. 😊
Hey Jaw Tooth! Great videos the last few days. I love seeing that CCET SD40-2. Interesting equipment you come across. I like that bridge shot too. I wonder if that car in front of the shop has ever won? lol Thanks for fighting the heat to get all this awesome content! Bikers going on a nice cruise. Something must have caught Chessie's eye, Haha! Norfie could care less while getting pets. Thanks again JT
Thanks for your comments! Have a great week!
Another great catch ! That short line seems busy - hope that continues so we can see how they progress.
You and me both!
Awesome shot of the insulators! The lower crossarm has glass. The upper crossarm has porcelain. I saw similar ones on US 460 in Virginia going from New Bohemia to Suffolk.
Cool, probably both of them are N&W lines
39 rail cars, cool. Greetings from Berlin/ Germany. Sven
Thank you very much!
Amazing videos jaw tooth keep up the good work
Thanks a ton!
They had quite a few cars. That EMD sounded good coming across that trestle. Some great catches!
Thanks!
Excellent informative video I enjoyed watching.👍🚂😁😁😁😁😁🇬🇧
Thanks 👍
Thank you for documenting this train on the Cincinnati Eastern Railroad on 8 July 2022, Jaw Tooth! It is nice to see that business is building on the Cincinnati Eastern Railroad. Too bad you did not have a chance to get to Sardinia, Ohio to watch the transformer move from the flat car to the highway trailer.
Great to see the double C pulling such a train. Business is looking up in your neck of the woods. It's also refreshing to see those two Geep's with painted livery instead of those beat up engines they normally use. They need a paint job on the 'dinky'.
Cool railroad. This operation would make a nice model railroad, may be virtually in Trainz TRS22+ which I have where I can build the whole thing complete with all the industries and towns in the right locations using DEM files and topographic maps, loads of buildings, industries, trees, etc.
The old rails are sweet. I found some dated 1888 at the end of the former Tewksbury MA branch of the B&M. This branch was abandoned beyond this point in 1922 and is completely gone now. The B&M had stick rail on its mainline from Lackawanna Steel made in 1944. This lasted until the MBTA put in CWR and single-tracked the line. Today, there's dual CWR and trains go through at 65 mph.
Looking at those poles, they may still be used for other purposes. There's a ground wire running along the top which leads me to believe they're used for power. I was told by comm workers not to touch the wires because they could be live. If the poles are separate and the wires go to the ground, that's a different story.
This video was just awsome JT. I dont know how i miss this one just very relaxing 👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
And jaw tooth cool that trains coming ❤ 😊
Glad to see Norfie learning about trains,
Yes, thanks
A great video on local trains. And as always the pets. Thanks for the video and chat. Cheers JT!!
Many thanks!
Awesome, my friend. 😍 💕 Thanks for sharing. 👍 Have a nice day. 🤗 ✨
Thank you! You too!
Happy Monday. Thank you for your video today! Very best always, Len 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃
Thanks, you too!
Thanks from doncaster uk 🇬🇧
I counted 39 cars on the first pass. You were very close.
Thanks for more small town railroading. The position light signal made me wonder if any Y's, A's or J's used to hammer those rails. Would sure have been a sight if they did. Noticed how people of those towns seem to be more respectful of the crossing gates and signals. Good video and thank you!
Yes, I have seen pics of the J's on the Powhatton Arrow passenger train. The 611 rode the line as recently as 1994. I rode it on two different trips from Cincinnati to Portsmouth , Ohio and back
N&W steam power was awesome. Never rode behind 611 but back in the '80s got to ride behind 1218 between Chicago and Fort Wayne. Now if someone could only bring back one or both of the two remaining Y's........ Thanks for the extra history update!
Cool on the derailer. That should be locked. It's a wonder the insulators are still on. alot of places they were removed by people. P.R.R had their own marked P.R.R. on the top of the insulator. Cool you mentioned them
Poker run probably with the motorcycles and the truck with trailer. Great video, again
Unintentional joke. Truck and trailer following Harleys.
@@skeptical2649 yes…
Thanks for watching!
Great video thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video again love it
Those dates on the tie plates are amazing. Another great video !!!
Thanks for watching!
Hot rods motorcycles and freight trains...Oh yeah cats and dogs. Awesome video !!
Thanks 👍
I enjoyed that video 👍👍
Great capture buddy
Great video JT! All kinds of content!Really liked the train going across the bridge. And cool showing the heavy haul and transformer up close!
Thanks a ton!
38 cars with the engines 40 nice videos
Thanks for watching !
Thank you very much for this very nice video. ✨✨✨✨
17:07 👍
🖐👍Merci beaucoup ! 🙏
Your on a roll Son ... Awesome shots of that SD40-2 especially the slide show on the trestle ... Thx for posting ... Now on to another J T vid ...
I got really lucky that the owner of the property told me I could film the trestle from behind his barn. that was really nice. I was filming from the road and he told me I could go back there. That is the best video that I have ever got from that trestle
Wait a minute. I got the wrong trestle. That trestle will be in the next CCET video in a couple of days. Sorry
Great video.... Glad you were not interested in putting up solar panels....keep the natural beauty....
Great excellent video, mr Jaw Tooth.
This was for CCET a long train with 39 cars and 2 fresh painted locomotives.
Now and in the future a little more maintenance.
Greet from Zandvoort the Netherlands.
Good luck to Max !!!!
That is correct. That is a good train . The trees and brush are taking over because of all the rain that we get.
@@JawTooth Brian, thats a good little line that you cover and you do it well but don’t sugar coat safety, the line of vision is greatly reduced for the operating crew at every road crossing and also the risk for the traveling public….Attorneys love to eat these tragic events up when right of way ( line of vision ) is obstructed….brush cutter and weed sprayer CCET~~~stay safe buddy……ms~~~
You where right there are 40 car's on that train, God bless from GA
Thanks for watching!
Chalk up another quality video by Jawtooth. I like the neat areas you find and show.
Thanks for watching!
Great video of those classy red/black engines. Always look nice 👍
Thank you very much!
Awesome 👌 and watching enjoying now 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎❤and your end of video is awesome video Jaw Tooth and the locomotives awesome too AWESOME VIDEO JT
Thank you so much 😁
That wasn't a PGR mission, not decorated enough. Looked like a serious two (three) wheel therapy session! I wonder where they ended up eating at then. I wish I could still ride!
Great video! You know your freight lines!
Thanks for watching !
Great Video!
Thanks for watching !
Always nice to see your videos, greetings from Norway! 👍
Thanks for watching!
Enjoy the the locations you film at.
Thanks for watching!
Early! Amazing video man.
Always enjoy getting a look at some of the track equipment - poor defect detector :( Nice derail though. I was checking out that old truck in the second view - some odd items around it :) You know, if you get much more popular around Mt. Orab, CCET might want to put you to work!
Thanks 👍 It's funny when I go to Kroger and ppl recognise me
putting in solar panels in your field is like a weed you cannot get rid of
True, they would ruin the farm land. There are thousands of acres of them taking over in my area
Awesome video as always. Thanks and keep those trains coming. See you later 👍👍
Thanks 👍
It would be cool to see the progress of the new customer in peebles with the reactivated siding
Thanks for this video!
My pleasure!
Thanks JT really interesting video of the CCET workings esp going over that trestle.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the video Jawtooth. I love those engines though
Glad you like them!
The train pulled by locomotives #3512 and #1657 has 39 cars.
Got a great horn.
Got some good action going on. It's a pipe dream, but it would be cool if that line ran to Portsmouth again.
Steve, I worked forty years on the RR and I have seen all the secondary subdivisions get ate up by deregulation, the Reagan administration, but I’ll say one thing the “ engines” you observe operating today because of their size and length would be too costly relating to rail maintenance…..plus the class 1’s can not find it feasible to operate 4 axle locomotives even thou they maintain a small roster of them~~~sad……..ms~~~
I wish I could go back and ride the 611 over this line again
I live in Western NY in the State of NY and we have the Buffalo and Pittsburgh Railroad and Rochester and Southern Railroad for Short Line railroads all owned by the Genesee and Wyoming. I just saw one today in Leicester going to the Salt Mine (American Rock Salt) in Mount Morris. I love your videos Jaw Tooth keep up the good content.
Nice 👌 👍 rock train going by lovey
Thanks a lot 😊
@@JawTooth no problem 😊 👌
Awesome video with p5 action I really love hearing "go ahead and start the video son" it reminds me of how we talk down here in Mississippi
Thanks for watching!
17 motorcycles and the trucks with the flag
great video jaw Tooth
Great video son
That truck by the cactus is a bit of history too
It is pretty cool. thanks for watching !
Great video
39 railroad cars

Good morning from New Orleans la ☀️🌞☀️🌞
Good morning!
Awesome video jawtooh
Thanks!
@@JawTooth u are welcome brian 😀
Interesting film again, thanks JT. I spotted a race car on a trailer at the garage behind the railroad crossing at 15:50. Would be cool to see that heavy haulage trailer on the road when they move it.
Thanks for watching!
Great video, JT! Love that SD40-2!
Too bad they didn’t put the Leslie S5
horn on it from that one ex-CSX
B36-7! I too thought that derails
should be lined and locked for normal
position (derailing), just like switches!
Keep up the good work and the animal
shows at the end! By the way, kudos for refusing to put the solar energy on
your land! I believe in coal as the right
choice!
Thanks!
3512 and 1657 the famous Twins !!
Yes and they have a third one sitting in Sardinia. Actually the same owners have another line in Indiana with a fourth one. I have it in a couple videos also
Awesome video
Norfie’s one smart cat.
Thanks for watching!
39 cars, I count every train. I can compliment you on your photography. So many turn so quickly counters like me loose there place and count.
Thanks 👍
Awesome train JT!!!
Thanks!
@@JawTooth You're welcome!!
Nice job cool video
Thanks!
Still 39 cars on the forth pass.
Hey Jaw Tooth ; Thanks for braving the heat to get this set of video's that i just watched and keep up the the Good Work ! 👍 All of us up here around the Berea , Ohio area where there are 2 Major railroad lines less 100 yards away from each other ( mostly CSX & NS locomotives pulling trains thru ) enjoy seeing your video's and the info that goes with it too ! 👍 Anyway , i have a few comments about this here video that i just watched and First off is did you contact someone about that De - Railer being left unlocked on that siding ? 🤔 Looked like it had been resting on that rusty rail recently! 😦 Secondly , when you passed by that Green locomotive why didn't you stop to get a much closer look at it and tell us viewers what railroad line it belong to and Thirdly as someone else mentioned in the other comments , what a Great Looking , very old stake body truck that was sitting along the tracks as that CE train rolled by ! 😉 Wondering what year the truck was and kinda of odd that it still had a load of wooden planks on the back of it ! 🙄 Must have broken down and nobody felt like getting it running again ? 🤔 Somebody never got their delivery of planks ! 😲
