i agree, i can't wait for nurgle's plague to leave us so i can try to get on and play a game with these magnificient dice tossing gents. they are why i am still painting on my ... uhm... 4k ish points i've acquired since the plague started. still haven't played an actual table game but i'm killing it on TTS. this channels what got me wanting to play so badly.

"Oh, it hits." is such an accurate expression when it comes to Ork-shooting.
I love how there are no real abbreviations being used when playing orks. Just because the names are already the type of name you'd use in casual play. I'm gonna shoot you with my boyz", "k, this one gets more dakka". it just feels right.
"My boyz are all in the trukk" just sounds like a natural thing to say anyway, so why the hell not?

He's right to fear Grots! I once killed a Demon Prince of Cheese fielded by a notorious cheater with a mob of space gobbos. 90 points worth of fodder annihilated a 600+ point monster, and ever since that day he avoided the little gremlins like the plague.

A friend of mine lost a BANEBLADE to a Grot mob once. The little pests bogged the tank down and the Ork player had brought a little too much dakka for the tank to handle.

Love JT's commentary. It's like Madden commentary. Loved seeing an ork army played by an experienced ork player. I have an ork army and it helps me learn to play them by watching James work his magic.

The commentary on top of the players offers a neutral viewpoint on the two sides which really gives the game more flavour and depth. Really helps give you a better idea of what's going on.
Those Nihilak Necrons look beautiful, and the orks are amazing too. Always a treat to see two super good-looking armies in a batrep
Man as a Necron fan I felt bad for Micheal. You could tell that he hadn't gotten to play a lot in 9th and was still playing large and in part like it was 8th. He also got pretty unlucky too.
Great game as always and I love both players. Considering my wife is putting together an Ork army maybe we will play a similar game out one of these days :)
It's interesting how often women like the Orks.
@@jackfrost2978 in my wife's case I think she noticed that I was starting to take an interest in the hobby so she took an interest in it some as well as a way to spend more time with me (make no mistake I spend lots of time with her on other hobbies we have) and picked Orks because they were the least serious faction in the game so she found them to be more light hearted.

Peerless production value aside, showing concise but informative movement phases is why this channel is one of the GOAT. A lot of channels straight up skip it or give very thin reviews of what is arguably the most important phase.
Could I throw a suggestion out? If a player makes an important play-by-intent move relative to a piece of terrain, a shorthand note on screen or very short comment on the key decision. e.g. "heres the movement phase yadda yadda yadda, and we have the ghost ark moving behind this obscuring to avoid those eradicators. Shooting phase begins! Yadda yadda yadda."
Thanks for the suggestion. We look for players to give us good sound bites and perhaps we can suggest to them in future episodes to give us these bits to capture in the final edit.

The incredibly tight editing really separates your batreps from the rest. Kudos to the poor guy painstakingly clipping and editing the audio and video and adding all the FX

In all the other matches, you can always sense Lady Luck picking on one of the armies, but this fight actually felt very balanced in terms of their rolls. Mr. Initiative had lots of Dakka but Michael had some good reanimation rolls as well

I’ve never watched a full game and ALMOST left but I couldn’t, this formatting and gameplay is incredibly great. This is amazing work.
Typical 8th edition thinking, we all learn I made a lot of mistakes starting 9th thinking 8th edition tactics.
i kept losing with my custodes because of it, as soon as I realized what my problem was I started winning ALOT more
I tend to use end of turn secondaries so I spend the turn trying to achieve them rather than forgetting to do an action at the start, I hope once I get more familiar with the rules I'll try some of the others.
@@Beavy I wasn't trying to sound like an elitist, I was making an observation on experience, I too had to stop thinking kill, kill, kill and play the objectives. Unless one of my secondaries is kill, kill, kill 😂

I love these quick and clean reports. I hate those 3 hour games where they take forever on each roll. I dont have time for a 3 hour video. Edited down versions like this make my day
22:00 Dude takes things waaaaaay better than I do. I sympathize. I also forget my own rules sometimes (usually when they would HELP) and never roll well - statistics be damned.

This was so well done. I typically don't like watching battle reports, as they drag on forever. Your editing was very well done, and the UI/effects really added to the viewing. If you can keep up this level of production, I will be watching and sub'ing.

About halfway through I was thinking, is this the best game I have ever seen? And then not long after that I was sure, best game I have ever seen. The gameplay and strategy was poetry in motion, unbelievable to watch and really showed me just how exciting, tense, gripping, thrilling a good game can be.
I would dare anyone to find me a team that makes better battle reports. It just doesn't exist. Like why isn't play on tabletop getting some sort of massive contract, and worldwide coverage??
And can't forget to mention the editing. Man, the timing was excellent, so well chopped up, didn't miss a thing while still hitting that rough 40 min time line, and the music this episode, like what?! Came out of nowhere and just made some thag was already epic, ten times more so 👌
