Thank you for covering this! For the past few years, I would occasionally search CZcams for Crusade content, but it seemed like the only thing anyone cared about was competitive 40k. Competitive is cool and all, but Crusade is mainly what I am interested in.

40k is SO ill-suited for competitive play though, it's kinda baffling that they focus so hard on it.
@@nakenmil i agree with you. It seems a bit like competitive D&D, which apparently used to happen in the late 70's, early 80's. They wanna sell 40k as an E-sport, which makes me a little bit frustrated. I took up these games back in high school precisely because I wasn't into sports. I still can't talk fantasy football or whatever. But apparently 40k is on its way to becoming one. I guess that's why Crusade exists.

This is nice. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do since I really haven’t had a chance to play a game of 40K yet, just engaging with lots of lore and model building. Another problem is while there are some content for people interested in crusade. It’s mostly GT’s and matched play stuff. Nothing wrong with any of that you just I’d like to leverage the lore in the game, since it’s so good.

While I enjoy the competitive gaming aspect of Matched Play, I am drawn to 40k more by the lore. The universe is so vast and intriguing, and I want to see that represented on the tabletop too. Sometimes we just want to have a casual game and tell a story with our minis.

I kicked off 10th edition with an 8-month long narrative campaign using this system, and I have enjoyed this immensely. It's a crying shame that there's not more content focused on this grossly under-rated system.

1k is a great pointage to learn the game. For 10th edition, I find that it’s almost as balanced as 2k games. So the basics will be the same.

I've been looking for something like this ever since I got my 10th SM codex, since it doesn't really explain the core concepts and I didn't want to buy a £40 just to find out. Looking forward to more :)
If you have the leviathan book , it has crusade rules and tyrannic war crusade rules

@greg_mca yeah agreed. The core Crusade rules are pretty complicated for beginners. And some rules are spread out across the whole document. That’s kinda what pushed me to make this video.
Your crusade rules are in your codex. There’s only 2 crusade supplements; tyrannic war (standalone or found in the leviathan book), and Pariah Nexus (a standalone book).
Supplements aren’t required

Hope they start playing! I’ve honestly found that Crusade is the best way to play 40K.
Now we just need to start doing Crusade Table Top Simulator, since find local crusade games, even in large metro region…is a challenge.
That sounds like a good idea.
May I ask which region you are in? I've realized player participation in Crusade is highly dependant on the demographics of people in the area.

@@CrusadeHouse I play my Space Marine Raptors Chapter against some disgustingly blue Tau Xenos scum. We start with 600 points and then we will see how it goes.
Can the narrative of the crusade be fan-made by us or does it have to be from the official codex books from gw?
The story can be fan made.
However, the Battle Traits, Crusade Relics etc are only from the official GW books. If you intend to play Crusade with other people from your area, it’s best to stick to the upgrades found in these books. Unless you have a group of friends willing to play with house-rules and self-made Crusade upgrades.
Tldr story can be self-made, but use the rules found in official books to represent your setting.
