- Hello, everyone!! ♥️ I'm so excited for the start of the holiday season, so in today's video, I wanted to take you with me as I get ready for the holidays! 🎄 I'm creating a holiday bucket list, stopping by the bookstore for a holiday fantasy book haul, and then spending a cozy evening at home reading and making gingerbread hot chocolate.

Which books are on your holiday / winter reading list this season?! 🎄I'd love to hear your recommendations!
I have a bunch I plan on reading. One is The Sea in Winter, another is Marmee (it's a perspective of the mom from Little Women), another is One Jump at a Time (about an ice skating olympian Nathen Chen). I have quite a big list and they are a variety from historical fiction to biographies.
'The Bear and the Nightingale', 'The Father Christmas Letters' by Tolkien, 'The Snow Child" by Eowyn Ivey and if I feel like reading somethins cheesy, I will read 'Faking Christmas':)
I read The Last Tale of the Flower Bride by Roshani Chokski and it’s my fave read of the year! Her prose is so gorgeous!
I've finally started reading The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. It's SO BIG! I've even named it Bob, short for Big Old Book. That way I can say things like "I curled up in bed with Bob last night". LOL Hey, so long as I can make myself laugh, that's what counts. ;)
Hi Haley, finally i have time to watch your cozy video. I see to my delight you are going to read Snow and Rose! It’s one of my favorite winter books. I often read it in summer to beat my summer SAD (opposite to your winter blues) I am reading now The Christmas Guest by Peter Swanson, a perfect light and classic whodunnit. And I am also very happily reading The Wheel of the Year by Fiona Cook and Jessica Roux. the illustrations are gorgeous. It’s also a so-called juvenile or YA book but that never interests me. Thank you for another lovely video and I hope you can fully enjoy my favorite season.

I have a good habit of fighting the winter blues, as seasonal depression has always been a thing for me. OH I went to that town and that bookstore on my bday and made a video of my time there! It was so much fun. I hope to go back there again soon. I could have bought so much and spent so much time there. I need to find this World Market next. It is so lovely.
The Bear and the Nightingale has been on my to-read list for nearly a decade and I really need to get to it this season. Snow and Rose is also on my to-read list and I hope to get to it this winter. I saw my library has it (checked last week). I love seeing the Nutcracker Ballet. I have seen it a few times. Definitely so beautiful. Thanks for sharing your books with us.

I love that scarf, it looks so cozy and festive. Gingerbread cocoa sounds so good! I'm definitely going to try it. You must have good taste in books because whenever I try to borrow the books that you recommend from Libby (a digital library app) there is always a wait list a mile long, lol! The Snow and Rose book is by the same author as Dream Animals, a children's book my little ones have. I absolutely love her illustrations! I haven't shifted into Christmas yet. Autumn is my favorite so I always let it linger as long as possible, although I have been watching a few Christmas movies here and there, lol. This Saturday we will get our tree and decorations out though and then it's officially Christmas time here. I can't wait for your holiday baking/cooking videos! Your recipes are always so inspiring! I have the same bucket list for Christmas! I've already painted some wooden slices as ornaments. They will be little additions to the gifts. I am also inviting my friend over for cookie baking and decorating. We're gonna watch a Chritmas movie and put together a wooden jigsaw puzzle (yup, we have been adults for quite a while;)). I could smell the books through the screen when you were in that book store. What lovely socks! Omergawd! I got "The Bear and the Nightingale" two days ago. Snow and Rose and The Enchanted Sonata are both so good - looking forward to hearing your thoughts! For excellent Nutcracker retellings, may I rerecommend Midnight in Everwood by MA Kuzniar? It's one of the coziest, most descriptive and atmospheric retellings I've read - highly recommend 👌

Our 8yo likes to watch with me, and she has started painting seasonal lists like yours. ❤ I am still working on my winter reading list, because it is a very involved process for me that involves Canva graphics and a lot of research. I really love your videos - the intros especially are so nice cozy. The whole video is cozy. Thanks for the content! And I definitely know what you mean by that days get shorter and you feel less happy; here north it starts to get dark around 3 PM and it's already dark by 4 Pm - too early... So I totally get it - that's why I also love to think about christmas already in October/November. Love from Finland :)

The bear and the nightingale is one of my favourite books and I love to re-read it every Winter. It is the first book in a trilogy but that first one is the best in my opinion. I also love to read Once upon a river by Diane Setterfield every December

I had to take a small break from my Scotland holiday to watch your latest video! As always, such a spoonful of joy ❤️ I read the Bear and the Nightingale and more than the graphic violence, I think it’s the injustice and plain dumb stubbornness of men towards women that had me angry throughout the read. Great trilogy though! Going to write down the other titles, as they interest me as well. Take care 📖

The Gilded Wolves is a great trilogy! I read all three in a binge read moment, and after reading Chokshi's "The Last Tale of the Flower Bride" I'm definitely picking up more of her works. The only thing I didn't really like about GW is what could be considered the main romance; I was more interested in the side ones. The only books on my winter TBR so far are "The Winterhouse Mysteries" by Ben Guterson (so I can finally finish the trilogy) and "The Good Bear" by Sarah Lean.
