Got one! Very happy with that. Fast, and reliable ...applied for IR safety plan, very simple to use! Great connectivity with Fenix 7X, indeed worth the money...
Just ordered one. Exactly what I was looking for. I do not need navigation as most my use will be offshore. I also needed the device desperately last week when I was in my home during Hurricane Ian and had no cellular or power. This device could have reached my family and let me tell them I was safe.
how does the satellite connectivity, and range compare to the inreach mini 2?
I just bought. The only feature I wish you guys would add is, (if I had a pin to a spot with my phone on the app.. we can IR track to that spot)
Thanks for the helpful video! I've looked everywhere for an answer to this question, and still can't find anyone talking about it! Sometimes I trek with my wife, and sometimes one of us goes backpackin solo. Is there a way to unpair the inreach messenger from my phone and pair it with her phone instead so she can take it out when I'm not with her? Thanks in advance!
That's a great question! While the inReach Messenger device can only be paired with one smartphone at a time, we understand that there may be those instances as you've described to pair with a different smartphone than the one that it was originally paired to. Below is a link to the step-by-step instructions. I hope this helps.

Interrsted in picking one of these up, never used one before, but have a few questions if you can help please?
If I'm out on the hills and want to message home, would I be correct in assuming the person I want to message will need the app installed too? Or will they receive a standard text message which they can reply to?
Also,
are you able to use the device with more than one smart phone? (At separate times) As some days I may have use of it, and others my partner may have it.
Why wont the InReach mini pair with the Messanger app?
What's 4 ounces?
Is it compatable with the zumo xt
Is there still a text message limit even using explorer?
Will this work from inside a vehicle. Like placing it on the dashboard and texting with it? Not driver of course but passenger.
Thank you for your question. Yes, this is a perfect scenario and exactly what it's intended for - sitting on a dash or flat surface with a clear view toward the sky. Keep in mind that the inReach Messenger is not a WiFi hotspot and can only be paired with one user at a time. I hope this helps.
@@GarminRetailTraining Thanks!! Yes I'm definitely looking into it.
Can the Garmin Messenger app be used with other Inreach devices?
I don't think so
Mini 2
Yes
How do you securely attach this to gear while hiking, for track back? You already have app support for text messages for the other Inreach devices. Why add another. Confusing.
I was wondering the same thing, how to attach it …
Lanyards. They are sold as options. I bought a floating lanyard as my use is exclusively for offshore.
The ONLY reason you bought this out is because Apple has now launched Satellite and THAT pisses me off , dont take your customers for granted , you gonna lose them .
They’re trying to compete with the Zoleo SOS device. Basically the same thing with the Garmin name on it now
Seriously. Garmin Messenger is a satellite text device. Share your location. Send and receive texts with anyone in your contact list.
The Apple feature for now is a SATELLITE SOS feature. Nothing More. 911 call using your iPhone through a satellite.
Garmin has dozens of products for all different uses. How are they taking anyone for granted??
