  • Did you know that there may be up to 300 million potentially habitable planets in our galaxy, with some situated relatively close, possibly within 30 light-years of our Sun?
Contemplating the possibility of an alien civilization concealed somewhere out there can evoke excitement or unease. Regardless of your perspective, scientists are actively seeking signs of extraterrestrial life and will persist in their quest until their knowledge on the matter reaches its limits.
While it may seem like science fiction, numerous research teams are earnestly investigating the existence of life on planets distinct from our own. Multiple projects are underway, attempting to provide estimates for the Drake Equation and solutions to the Fermi paradox. Among these endeavors, the prominent "Breakthrough Listen" project stands out as the largest scientific research program dedicated to uncovering evidence of civilizations beyond Earth. In this video, we'll delve into the findings that scientists have uncovered through this promising initiative.

    The Breakthrough Listen Project
The Breakthrough Listen initiative's program encompasses a survey of the 1,000,000 nearest stars to Earth, scanning the central region of our galaxy and the entire galactic plane. Beyond the Milky Way, it actively listens for signals from the 100 closest galaxies to our own. Let’s first focus on what the project aims to do in the context of the Milky Way

    Biosignatures and Technosignatures
Imagine being a cosmic detective equipped with a telescope, peering into the vastness of space. In the search for life as we know it, astronomers hunt for Biosignatures-indicators that life might exist on a distant planet.
    Radio Telescopes
The instruments used to find these signatures are among the world’s most powerful ever conceived. When it comes to the Breakthrough Listen project, they are 50 times more sensitive than existing telescopes dedicated to the search for intelligence and are mostly made up of radio telescopes.
    Life Around Proxima Centauri Results
In August 2016, scientists discovered a potentially habitable Earth-like planet circling Proxima Centauri, the Sun's closest neighbor.
Life in Other Galaxies - Results
But the breakthrough listen project does not only look for life in our vicinity. something like 100 galaxies are also probed in order to find a hint..

Please be more specific with 'Earth like Planets' by telling your audience , earth like planets orbiting SUN LIKE STARS! It's almost a fact that Red Dwarfs are in no way conducive to life in any form as we know it. The only possible chance would be a M0V red dwarf, maybe lol

Artificial intelligence can assist in finding extraterrestrial life. On the other hand it could mislead them in thinking that AI is our intelligence level. 😬
