If you want to hear some of my original music you can go here. I need to get back to recording. I did this in my bedroom, all instrument and vocal i did myself in one or two takes. It's really just sketches of song. Todd

Montreaux was off the chain. Miss you Mark.

Talk Talk was the best band that ever came out of the UK in the 1980's and beyond!

Time It's Time by Talk Talk was the perfect song.

Talk Talk never really hit the major heights at the time, but now in retrospect are seen as a major musical influence to many.
Singer Mark Hollis grew very disillusioned with the music industry , and their sound changed completely when he refused to back down to their demands.
Never a comfortable front man - as you see here dark glasses were often worn, he basically pulled out completely from live shows, this Montreux one being the best archive material.
He became a virtual recluse, living quietly with his wife and children, before dying suddenly in 2019 at the age of 64.
I think this gentle giant of a man would be staggered by the amount of grief this caused - I know it hit me very hard, although he had long since retired from music, and outpourings of grief were all over the internet.
I miss you Mark - RIP.
Some more to come Todd, and great reaction.

Marks voice is like a warm blanket in troubled times , helped me loads this year. I am exploring all his songs atm and it is so reveiling . He was one of a kind , genius and honest at all times. Hardly any interviews but you can get very close to him trough his music

Not sure if I mentioned Talk Talk to you, but glad you have checked them out,
never saw them, but enjoyed hearing them on the radio back in the day.
I enjoy this whole concert, lots of interesting percussion and Mark's distinctive voice.
Listened to this a lot on CZcams before I stumbled onto Nightwish, and we know how that ends up....
    .
Its my life was also recorded by No Doubt, who made it very popular, but I do like the version from this concert.
There may have been other covers of this song.
Also Life's What You Make It (HD), Living in another world, Mirrorman and Does Caroline Know, Such a Shame...

Good reaction! Talk Talk are great, the whole Montreux 1986 concert is amazing! Living in another world from the same concert is splendid!
They started off with synth pop and ended with Laughing Stock which is post-rock. So they really went on a musical journey.

Another great rabbit hole, Todd! No band ever evolved more over 5 albums than Talk Talk. My Foolish Friend was a non album single. You have probably heard It's My Life or Life's What You Make It. This is a great concert, but I don't think the session guitarist was a good fit here. Colour of Spring is my favorite of their albums. First two albums were more new wave. The latter two albums were post rock. Can't wait to see more reactions. You may want to tackle whole albums like Porcupine Tree?

Todd, this song was only ever released as a single, thus it is not on a studio LP release. "My Foolish Friend" was actually released by EMI at the end of Talk Talk's fallout with them, called 'Natural History: The Very Best of Talk Talk'. Talk Talk is a rabbit hole worth falling into, but that LP is a really good starting place if you're interested.

I bought their albums because I love Mark Hollis's voice. The only song I've ever heard on the radio was "It's My Life" which is nice but it isn't even the best song in my opinion. Lee Harris (Drummer) is Awesome. He really works it.

This video hurts my heart, Mark being misunderstood again. Love @PaulF comment tho 🖤

If you will set direction on post-rock (real PR , not what it called now) try Bark Psychosis.
