Как вам не нравится история? История очень интересный тему. ну, в школе сюда (в Великобритания) это нормально про-английский пропаганда. и Маршал Жуков и Маршал Рокоссовский два из лучших военной лидеров все времены. Oh boy, That short paragraph will need a lot of correcting. I'm still learning conjuntions and cases, and learning a language by ones self is not easy.
+Тристан Гилхам Я согласна, что история - интересный предмет, но все мы разные ;) В школе, конечно, все учат историю ;) "Как так вам не нравится история? История - очень интересная тема. Ну в школе, здесь (в Великобритании) это нормально про-английский пропаганда. И Маршал Жуков и Маршал Рокоссовский одни из лучших военных лидеров всех времён." I just didn't understand one sentence - это нормально про-английский пропаганда. What do you mean?
+Antonia Romaker - English and Russian online Here in the UK, our history lessons in school are rather biased, one should take them with a grain of salt. I'll give and example; when studying WW2, The soviet union is bearly mentioned, all the text books blab on about 'the will and might of the british people'. They dissmiss the fact that without the soviet union, the allies most likely would have lost. and they don't even mention the Soviet liberation of manchuria, but only of the US's defeat of japan. But I suppose all countries use propaganda in school. It's just something we in the UK have always been good at. In English 'It's normally pro-english propaganda' is what I meant. (:
+Тристан Гилхам I understand what you mean, but I wanted to correct your sentence, because it sounds incorrect :) Probably like this -- "Ну в школе, здесь (в Великобритании) пропаганда интересов Британии - обычное дело." p.s. the same happens in every country I guess. Our historians tell Russia played the most crucial part in stopping the war, while the ones in the USA say it is their country which made it happen. So it is hard to tell who is right. And it is a pity that history is all about lying or pretending :(
+Antonia Romaker - English and Russian online Thanks, I was only learning Russian for 8 months when I took the GCSE, and I passed it, but mainly because the GCSE test is mostly about knowing vocabulary and being able to read it. I can read and understand a lot, but I struggle in forming sentences and using the correct cases. Am I missing out on something obvious that would make it much easier? I suppose it would be much harder to understand given that I have to self teach from text books and the internet. It's not very common in the UK for a school to offer Russian for teaching, but I am able to learn it at home by my self and take the test at a local school. As a Russian speaker and teacher, I imagine you'd find it interesting to see how it is examined here, this is a link to our A-level course specification; qualifications.pearson.com/en/qualifications/edexcel-a-levels/russian-2008.html . (:
