"The Arizona Brace is the only patented, clinically tested ankle brace of its kind for the treatment of PTTD and other disorders of the foot.
It was designed for the treatment of posterior tibialis tendon dysfunction (PTTD). It is the only brace tested to be 90% effective at treating PTTD as an alternative to surgery.
The brace fits into a comfort shoe and stabilizes the ankle area, the talocalcaneal, midtarsal and subtalar joints. It provides medial and lateral stability to minimize sinus tarsi impingement and reduces either forefoot abduction or adduction. It relieves pain of the foot and ankle complex and increases mobility.

I have to wear one of these for the rest of my life. It's nice to see the work involved to make it fit someone perfectly
I’ve been an upholsterer for over 30 years and see the skills involved in this work. I was born with club foot and walk on the outer edge of my foot. All surgeries have failed. Would love to have a go at making my own orthotic boot but I don’t materials for this kind of work.

This is an amazing use of an underrated skill. Most people only think of leather crafts to make nice bags and wallets. In a situation of survival, being able to provide comfort and utility is a must. Any crafter, sculptors and artists should think of a way to put their skills to a good purpose. I admire your work and ability to make a very sturdy, beautifully made piece that will bring stability and comfort to someone who needs it. Thank you so much for sharing!

What thickness cowhide do you use on the ankle gauntlet lacer? Is it medium, light or extra light?
