I have punjabi sardar friends, and I know for sure that when I ask them for help, they will do as much as genuinely is possible from their end - no matter how modern they become, deep down they still belive in the teachings of their guru. It's in their nature. And I would love to be around such people forever.
Punjabi music is next to none, and when you listen to it all day long, you start wondering what the lyrics mean. That is where a curiosity to learn the language arises. And once you dive into Punjabi culture and language, there is no looking backwards. It's just so beautiful that it pulls you in.
I am learning punjabi on my own, no one in my close family speaks it, but bss punjabi bolne mein apna hi swaad hai. Mohabat ki baatein ho ya gaalian....oye hoye...maza aa jata.
