- What if Goku never turned good? He never became good. Instead, had Goku never hit his head at the start of Dragon Ball, would he be evil?
Now recently, I went ahead and sampled a tier list made by one of my followers on Reddit on the MasakoX subreddit and felt that it might have been quite a nice retrospective on nearly all of the stories that Haverok and I have spearheaded over the years...and yes, there were quite a few of them that I would probably want to go back and redo, thinking that I might have been either a little too hasty or that I probably could've done better tackling. This being one of them. At first it seemed OK, but then it sorta became a little rushed and ultimately wasn't all that fun by the end...although Raditz DID get to feature and become a bigger brother to the ape Kakarot...if you want to see the original version of this story, you can check it out up top but for now, let's redo this story.

Poor Yamcha, I think he will end up joining the Pilaf Gang and then becoming a student of Master Shen, along with Tenshi, Chaos, he will be a villain, or at the very least an anti-hero.
Now I think Krillin will be Goku's only rival if he turns bad. But, I also think that Roshi will have other students, I really wanted to see the turtle school emblem on Dinosaur Giran, and on Nam and Pamput.
We can only hope that he does.

The Ox King becoming Goku's mentor here is such a good idea that I have literally never seen before in my 23 years of watching DB and its related content.

It's a fantastic idea . I'd imagine oxking if he trained would become way stronger himself.
Goku would be drawn to Chi-Chi's fiery attitude even without hitting his head.
Later on for sure, but right now, she's quite shy.

Absolutely hyped for when Goku trains with the Ox-King, genuinely never considered that as a possible route for the story to go in. What I really appreciate about this story the most is that Goku has to work significantly harder to earn his character development which in turn has led to very different outcomes from the usual canon. I hope the story makes it to Z because I feel like there's so much more potential for a Goku that has to reform the hard way.

I love how this Goku is a lot more like Sun-Wu Kong in JTTW.
Meaning no friendship with Yamcha, Krillin, Tenshinhan, Piccolo, or Vegeta lol
Good Things about your 2023 format:
- The writing is as good as ever.
- The new Act structure is an interesting concept.
Things that don't work (subjective?):
- Changing titles between parts makes viewers feel like they missed something (the Granolah story)
- The cold open (no recap) makes it hard for viewers to reacquaint themselves with stories that haven't been updated recently (Goku Didn't Hit His Head).
- SEO is failing you (old parts and story playlists aren't showing up in suggestion section of videos for new parts).
- No weekly content calendar (we miss Uffa pics and schedules).
- Put clear, working links to past parts in the description.
Oh boy, I’ve been waiting for this one again! Hopefully this time Goku has his head on straight when he’s around Chi-Chi.

I wonder if Ox will be a better master than Roshi or if Roshi will be Goku's teacher at some point. Clearly, if Goku's power is already 70 at the beginning of the story, with some training and the zenkais he should be at least as strong as Raditz when he comes to earth.
I think Ox because Goku would respect his raw power and intimidating presence more than the Turtle training style
@@DraconianBS Grandpa Gohan and Ox King are also alumni of the Turtle Hermit School, so that's the style Goku would learn anyways
@@anxofernandez3344 yeah, but he would not respect Roshi enough to do it his way. With all the napping and school lessons in between, along with all the seemingly meaningless tasks. Ox will probably end up dragging him through it in order to "temper" him anyway, but I imagine even then he'll be doing things pretty differently than Roshi would
I think not so much ‘better’ as just ‘different’ Ox strikes me as a bruiser, someone who can throw a good punch but not necessarily a big ki attack user. This Goku will like that and take to it well. While he’ll certainly pick up the full suite of longer range ki attacks eventually, I think his main fighting style in this story is going to be a lot more punch focused than the ki-centric one we got in the real story. Which will be really interesting when the Vegeta fight happens seeing as he’s not exactly used to that kind of in your face aggression at that point in the story. He may be stronger but he’s going to have a hard time keeping Goku off of him just the same, like trying to fight off an attack dog.
Ox King having a power level of 900 really caught me of guard Lol. He's almost more powerful than Goku and Piccolo was put together against Raditz. Where was he when Raditz attacked?!

He didn’t believe in himself since master Roshi have told stories of the terrible unbeatable king piccolo and would be terrified
He acts closer to his Journey to the West counterpart
I can see this version of Goku eventually becoming like Vegeta in the main timeline. Albeit with some obvious differences, like not being raised amoungst other saiyans at all.
Goku's dialogue here is cool as hell. That respect line was awesome.

Glad you included Ox Kings power level. I hope you one day use this as a jumping off point to make a What if a about how Ox Kings lineage would help Gohan unlock his Beast form. Like Chi Chi can have some like it too but kept it a secret because she didn't like it, found it unladylike, etc which could give her some shine in the android saga when they come to their home but the team hadn't gotten yet to move Goku and that's where she finally shows it off to protect Goku and give them time to run away

I actually really enjoy this version of Goku because now I'm just imagining becoming a very level-headed martial artist that at a moment's notice can just run rampant charging through a battlefield. Also his power level is going to skyrocket by dragon Ball standards
This has quite honestly grown into becoming my favorite 'What-if' series.
Good to see some of the OG Dragon Ball characters getting some love.

I'm very glad Krillin and Goku likely won't meet until the tournament because I feel like this more direct (and asshole) Goku would've wasted no time in ending the bald monk if he pulled any of his tricks like in the canon story. Another Krillin death in your what ifs would've broken me lol.
Glad to see something divergent happening too with Ox King training him too, could lead to Goku leading more about Earth culture and appreciating strength, power and hard work. Plus getting to know Chichi alot better too. Feels like he might have more respect for Tien to given his more power = respect mantra, well until he tries to be sneaky. Poor Yamcha but hopefully he'll get it together by training with Roshi much earlier. He'll need lots of training to get over being beat by a kid. Shaping up to be a great what if!
No matter what series Chi-Chi always finds a way to develop a crush on Goku. 😆 Huh, so after finding the rest of the Dragon Balls, Goku is going under the tutelage of Ox King very interesting. 🤔 With Goku training under Ox King, he could help Goku curve his attitude problem, plus Goku could get stronger too with Ox King's power level at 900. Finally, Goku and Chi-Chi relationship would develop, too. Anyways another really good part, and looking forward to the next part soon.

This Goku has more of a malleable character. And will extend his uniqueness beyond the standard story. Just like vegeta
I love this version of Goku man cant wait for the 23rd tournament and the start of Z espically when he goes Super Saiyan against Freiza

So just going to point this out.
1. Goku's pod is still there.
2. Grampa Gohan is alive.
3. Grampa Gohan knows about the great ape form.
4. Goku knows about his giant ape form
Theories on what we will see. If the characters are smart about it.
1. Ox king will talk to Gohan about goku. That includes the giant ape form.
2. Ox, roshi and gohan will find a way for goku to understand the giant ape form.
3. Bulma will investigate Goku's saiyan pod and deduce he's an alien.
So long as we don't see the toriama trope of people forgetting stuff.

Ohhh so he's still gonna end up with Chichi, well or atleast it'll be a different meeting and he's just gonna be thinking of food and be oblivious. Tbh I could see this Goku and older Chichi being quite the pair. Honestly I'm just hoping he doesn't forgoe the Earth when the Saiyans arrive, real interested to see what happens there and especially when he meets Vegeta. This Goku might be kinda arrogant and a smart ass but be more territorial about HIS place. More of a gang member than a benevolent savior and great friend.

I don't remember The Ox ever saying he dislikes Martial Arts these days in the original even if this is just for a what if scenario...... that certainly explains Chi-Chi's resentment towards Martial Arts as well from Z all the way to Super until the after math of the Goku Black Arc

Well, that's a twist. Ox King rather than Roshi?! Will he still train alongside Krillin?! And what of the Budokai?! Oh, wait, still have to take care of Pilaf first...uhhhhh, don't we need Oolong for that?!
Well this Goku is 7 times stronger than in the original story or even stronger if he got a zenkai boost from fighting Ox, so he might be able to free himself from Pilaf's prision.

I want to belive Ox King was strong, also idk if Chi-Chi wasn't able to 1 shot Gokou with her ki attack from helmet, which she later never used for no reason. Yamcha and Puar might by useful by their abilities, so letting them go was a mistake and might backfire later.

So what if Bulma was Evil? In this timeline, Capsule Corp could've been absorbed into the Red Ribbon Army in a corporate hostile takeover, forcing Bulma to work for them as "Agent Cobalt". NOW she's not interested in a lifetime supply of strawberries or a boyfriend, but instead to free her family company from this evil faction. Maybe she'll try enticing Goku to fight them sooner in the timeline? If that doesn't sound like a long-lasting story, what if AFTER the events of the King Piccolo Arc, Bulma took a Lex Luthor role of wanting to ensure the safety of Earth from otherworldly threats?
