The keyboard players of the 1980's are underrated.
No mames
Im just happy they are using instruments
*synth players
You mean synths
Yeah with their one finger playing
Played it twice just to be safe
Teehee...LoL!
32 years old and still a kick ass song
Ben-Roblox and more I'm Lazerline on Roblox... 😐
BenPlays the real song was so edited he doesn’t sound anything like that
this song is from 82, so it has been 35 years old last year.

Fuck, I miss the 80’s.
I hear ya, buddy !!!!!
Oh the memories! Back then, my friends and I would dress like punk rockers, black lipstick, safety pins and all. We dressed in all Commander Salamander gear and we would sneak out of the house and go to Georgetown or The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Those days still bring a smile to my face.
@@annroda2868 MTV wasn't shit back in the 80s.
❤
The best live version of this classic
What a great song, I love it! I put it into my "Shellshocked Radio - Recommendations" List: czcams.com/video/VNzu5r7vcbA/video.html Very well done!
Easily the best version of this song I've ever heard.
Check this one out czcams.com/video/Rm4mFqy_JZc/video.html
De acuerdo con tigo❤❤❤❤❤
De acuerdo, aunque se debe a que está altamente secuenciada.
This song came out in 1982! Who's listening to this 2020.
Actually, the song came out in 1983.
Listening because there’s absolutely not jack shit to listen to in 2020!
@@RainMan68 it did come out in 82 idk how I messed that one up lol thx
Me I am
Me.
I was at this concert, I had a blast!!!
me too lol
looks like a damned good concert
he performs well
he sounds great live
he doesn't sing off key
he shows a lot of energy
I don't get all the druggie comments
I am highly energetic myself, and I am in my late 40s
My high energy has nothing to do with drugs
I have ADHD
It must of been been amazing Teresa wish I was there as well
I wish I was I want born then
Lucky you!!!!!!!!
I thought Men Without Hats would be a band that sucked live, but no this is better than the studio version.
I saw them in Wash DC in 1988. there were pretty good live.
Agree!!!! 💜
The 80’ s was quite possibly the greatest decade of music! Then came the 90’s!
How far was that fall?
@@DrJ-hx7wv farrrrrrrrr
what do you guys mean with fall? The 90s had great bands like nirvana and radiohead!
About 500 miles.
Yes yes yes👍🇵🇭🇺🇸
1st time I've seen the live version in 2024! Loved the music video! Love it even more live! Ivan is a great front man!
That kerranging live guitar makes this tune a billion times better than it already is...
The bass and drums are sexy. The keyboards are bright and happy. Love Ivan's singing. And the lyrics are superb. Totally feel this way!
The drums and bass are machines. Nothing wrong with that. I do it all of the time. But live, you should use real musicians. The attempt to use a 'real' drummer here is embarrassing. Great song ruined. In my opinion
@@alfiekelly5914 Do you think that guy with the keyboard in the middle is only miming the bass line? I am not sure
Ah cocaine, you made the 80's what it is we all love!
Ahahahah
Julian Florez
Sadly, the VAST majority of ‘westerners’, myself included, never have any contact with this dark, violent and ruinous side of the “Cocaine Industry”; we only see the glamour, excitement, and newspaper stories of our favourite music stars all doing cocaine. So I guess we grew up, almost indoctrinated, that it made 80’s so great, and we all love it. I can totally see where you’re coming from too, though........
70's and 80's. A LOT of cocaine fueled/inspired music in the 70's. Imagine Fleetwood Mac's Rumours without cocaine. Imagine Bowie's Station to Station without cocaine. Hotel California without cocaine. Every legendary performance in The Last Waltz (such as Van Morrison's and Dr. John's) was fueled by large amounts of backstage cocaine.
Well then Latin Americans shouldn't be demonized as drug smugglers. Especially Colombians, they took a bullet so we could all have fun safely dancing the safety dance.
@@EyFmS i don't demonize them, I demonize the prohibionist US politicians that created the market
I love how enthusiastic Ivan is lololol he never lost that enthusiasm either...so great!
This lead singer does stuff when he dances that everyone wishes they had the courage to do in public but are too self-conscious to do
He has attitude
37 years old and still damn good.
Now 58...takes me back 30 odd years... Love it
Safety Dance is life
🤤🤤🤤🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃
When Ozzy Osbourne made synth pop.
I was thinking the same :D
hahaha exactly
One of the sexiest, and most creative songs I’ve ever heard!
What a great song, I love it! I put it into my "Shellshocked Radio - Recommendations" List: czcams.com/video/VNzu5r7vcbA/video.html Very well done!
Oh my goshhhh geniussss
I ❤️ THIS SONG MORE NOW THAN I DID IN THE 80S!
How can you not love this song?!?
93 people are no friends of mine!
99 now and hell yeah
Am aiming for 100 !! LoL
Now we’re up to 220-Men without hats last night at bogarts in Cincinnati -still got it!

Just like it was yesterday..thanks 😊 Ivan and The Men Without Hats. I've left 2021 ... I'm back with u guys.
One of my favorite one hit wonders from the 80s

Ummm..."one hit"? Pop Goes The World, Where Do The Boys Go , I Got The Message, Moonbeam...???
This is even better live! Wow!
This has to be the most awesome rendition ever!!
My morning alarm...Class of '89!
Charismatic frontman. I love when singers go crazy on stage! :)
What a great performance from a legend of a band. That song is a masterpiece
Beavis and Butthead introduced me to this song.
BEST VERSION OF THIS SONG...EVER!!!
The 80’s was the best decade ever, the 90’s followed and music has gone down ever since!
The 80s were fueled by cocaine.
80s are incomparable.
Tengo 55 y aún me gusta esta canción, es muy buena esta música. 👍🇵🇪
So good we DEFINITELY need to hear it twice❤
Thats how to perform live full credit giving that audience everything a great lead singer .
I was definitely born in the 80s in my last life. I can’t get enough of the 80s era and this song IS. ART.
Wouldnt you still be alive if you were born in the 80s?
@@masterblaster1844 yes. But I’m already alive, so I’m saying in a past life, I was born in the 80s. Like my soul has been here before. Ha
Must have died young then. Because Im from the 80s!😂
@@masterblaster1844 hahaha well yeah that’s basically what it means 🤣 that my soul has lived another life before this one. Not imply that you’re old hahaha my parents were born in the 70s and I don’t consider then old 🤪 YOU were born during the prime era
@@brookefesta yeah, things were simpler then. I was born in 1980 so I have the benefit of remembering the 80's and 90's. Good times! 🤘
The little person from the music video should have been on tour with the band 💯
Ivan was extraordinary I always feel safe to dance with him 🎉🎉🎉😅
I miss the 80’s
This live performance is EXCELLENT !!! Lots of energy !
:D
@Mavors And energy.
And sing.
I have no happiness to dance about but when i hear this i want to dance.
Nostalgia for a simpler time brought me here!
Amazing!
Note: I was here once...
Great sounding band! And that drummer movements are hilarious:-)
this was so very artistic and the lyrics were just so well planned, this hit is a part of world history

Impressionante !!!!!! Ao vivo as bandas antigas dão um schow em qualquer uma da atualidade
AMAZING live version right there folks...real talent + fun music!!!!
The best ever!!
This is kinda better than the original omg the guitar hits different
It's not the song, it's the Front man, captivating still!
Sin is fun for a season.
I am 44 and still dress in my sex pistols t'shirts and Now i am recieving a t-shirt from men without hats.
I had my daugther listening too. She is 25 and adores the music from Both 70's and 80's..
People often ask her: How do you know Falco, sex pistols?
Or even men without hats
Well i had a crazy mum who never left the 80's.
She was with me when sex pistols and Billy idol performed live... I wanted her to have what i didnt, because i was too Young and never allowed to go.
Ooooh yes the Rocky horror picture show.... We Adore that one too we love to do the time Warp when we have a beer or 2.
People think we are high... But it's just happiness. ❤️❤️
@@Louisefalk78 This is not uncommon. As a kid growing up, I learned to love my parents music. Especially the Everly Brothers. "Devoted to You" was even my wedding song. Also still love Johnny Mathis.
Before we were married, I told my husband that I could die after seeing Johnny Mathis in concert.
Saw him in concert and guess what?
IM STILL ALIVE! 😂😂😂
I JUST LOVE THIS, IT MAKES ME SMILE AND FEEL HAPPY, and as an almost 70yrs young disabled man I do it in my chair, so you young uns should have no probs doing it. "YOU CAN DO IT IF YOU WANNA, SAFTEY DANCE"!😎😅😂🤣🙃😉
HE LOOKS LIKE HE HAS JUST CAME OUT OF THE SHOWER!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😀🎹🎹🎹🎸🎤🎤🎼👏👍😉
I watch the original clip every 6 months or so when I get nostalgic.
Power & energy. No other way is possible!!
This song is so good that Men Without Hats HAD to perform it twice back to back. All the moves and camera angles are even the exact same in both of these back to back performances! :P
They don’t make em like this anymore. 80s were the best!
I love how everyone is acting cool and serious, and then there's this dude running around without giving a shit.
It's called a frontman. Check out Bruce Dickinson from maiden for his almost aged 60 :)
It's called cocaine
Steven Tyler is the same, they are how I feel like bands are supposed to be. But unfortunately not every band/group has the same energy
Best song of the 80's! Check out drummer moves at 2:15 lol
I LIKE THE WAY THE DRUMMER ACTS LIKE A ROBOT 🤖🤖!!👏👏👏👏👍😉👌😀🤣
Ivan's energy, moves, gestures and body language are awesome
What a tune, takes me back to my youth in the 80s
Sounds more amazing LIVE
80s and 90s were best years for music
I like this guy..he is so totttally great x

Awesome
I was 14 in 1980... We got cable with MTv, Miami Vice (with all that Pastel) and Synthesizers!!!!!!! Yes! It WAS as GREAT as we remember.
Space Cowboy, Duran Duran and don't forget Aldo Nova.
I love how the one keyboardist fucks up the note at 0:30. Lol. The joys of playing live.
Cro Minion haha...Good catch! Funny how a simple octave was so catchy!
Fuckin' guy had *ONE JOB* and he blew it. I could have played that part with my foreskin, for Christ's sake. HAHAHA!
Still one of my all time favorite bands though. It just seems that Ivan is the only member with real instrumental talent.
Fuck yeah
Cro Minion jajajajaj its live music its real, with fakes or not!!
With a lunatic dacing in front of you on an elevated bandstand - actually a bit of a problem. Just look at how the keyboard moves... and the guy is standing still - thats just how it is on the stage.
"The Safety Dance" is one of the most misunderstood and underrated "Non Violent Anti Establishment Songs of all time" and should be played at every peaceful protest!
Meaning of the song
The writer/lead singer "Ivan Doroschuk" has explained that "The Safety Dance" is a protest against bouncers stopping dancers pogoing to 1980s new wave music in clubs when disco was dying and new wave was up and coming. New wave dancing, especially pogoing, was different from disco dancing, because it was done individually instead of with partners and involved holding the torso rigid and thrashing about. To uninformed bystanders this could look dangerous, especially if pogoers accidentally bounced into one another (the more deliberately violent evolution of pogoing is slamdancing). The bouncers did not like pogoing so they would tell pogoers to stop or be kicked out of the club. Thus, the song is a protest and a call for freedom of expression.
In 2003, on an episode of VH1's True Spin, Doroschuk responded to two common interpretations of the song.
Firstly, he explained "The Safety Dance" is not a call for safe sex, and that this interpretation is "people reading into it a bit too much".
Secondly, he explained that it is not an anti-nuclear protest song per se despite the nuclear imagery at the end of the video.
Doroschuk stated that "it wasn't a question of just being anti-nuclear, "it was a question of being anti-establishment."
Imagine Riot Police trying to stop protesters singing and doing "The Safety Dance" Power to The People!
@@markgrist170 That's a classic!! :D

Play this on your car stereo if you have a decent subwoofer, with bass all the way up and treble all the way down. One fcking hell of a ride.

The truest version of this dark wave classic.
I love the synths. ♥️
I know right.. pure analog
And the sequencers and the drum machines.
