I Confronted These Pokémon Scammers

- It's time to take down the CZcams comment scam bots! The Pokémon community has been dealing with these scammers' relentless replies to comments on videos across the board, and something has to be done about it. In this video, I reply to these scammers who are pretending to be @PokeRev, @Leonhart, and myself to find out what they do, who they are, and to waste their time.
Scammers will create CZcams accounts impersonating a channel, then reply to comments on the real channel saying those commenters won a prize and ask to reach out on a chat app like Telegram. There they will attempt to scam you for "shipping costs" of an item you will never receive.
If you ever win a giveaway here on Deep Pocket Monster, know that you will never be asked to pay for anything.

That’s really awesome of you doing this for the community. The first time I got such a response at one of my comments I doubted if it was real but wasn’t sure about it. But I’m most times over cautious and thought that if it was real I would miss out on my prize and make someone else happy winning instead

I’ve gotten that reply to my comments on other CZcamsrs’ channels before and I’m not so sure they’re aware of this because I haven’t seen any of them make videos about this yet. We need to stop these scammers and so far CZcams hasn’t done anything about it. Yeah they say they’re “trying” to do something about it, but nothing’s being done! It’s infuriating!!!

Thanks for actually addressing this, because I feel a lot of influencers do not when it comes to scammers impersonating them. I guess their logic is ignore them and no harm done but that's definitely not the case to those who are susceptible!
Also, I LOVE hunting games!! I remember my favorite childhood game being Cabela's Big Game Hunter on the PS1! AH THE MEMORIES! The game was also scary tho for my child brain, I'd be shitting myself when a bear/wolf started charging at me 💀💀💀

Great video and thank you for helping bring awareness to this issue! Someone close to me was scammed like this and it’s a shame that they prey on the generosity of others. Hope CZcams can add a new report function for “impersonation” or “identity theft”.

This just happened to me last night. They got all upset and pissed off as I asked a lot of questions. Thank god I seen your video, it made it possible for me to make sure not to be screwed over.
Pat, you don’t know how many times I have gotten these replies. The first time I got one on rev’s channel, there was a spark of pure happiness in me, until I realized it was fake. I am so so glad you have made a video about it and I hope lots of people will listen and learn from this. I am so grateful that you do this Pat!!!

Great video. I have been scammed multiple times. They aren't fun to deal with. One word of advice is to be careful when someone says you won a giveaway without knowing. There is a good chance they are scams. Just be extra careful with fake profiles and bots it can be helpful to not interact with them at all.

One thing people can do is reply to the scam comments saying "This is a scam!" To help those that won't know better. The best thing you can do is spread awareness with things like this.
If more CZcamsrs, not just Pokémon channels, bring this up to people in videos, it'll help spread awareness! This video is a great contribution!

Thanks for the video! I was wondering if you could do a very DETAILED, video about card scammers online, selling fake vintage japanese pokemon cards, English, European and also graded cards as well. There's videos lacking on this subject to its proper degree on how it should be put out and derived from its details. I feel the community really needs this and would greatly benefit. Thanks.

Thank you for exposing this and helping out the community. I sadly was one of the ones that fell for the scam a while back when I was brand new to the community. I felt like a complete idiot after the fact, there were so many flags, but I wanted to believe so badly that I had won and would receive what I was promised. It breaks my heart that I and others like me could fall prey to these awful scammers, I a GREATLY appreciate you taking the time to shed some light and also have a little fun with them. I just fell to a scammer today on one of Leonhart's videos and lost $133. There was plenty of red flags but I was too excited about finally winning something that I didn't even realize it in the moment. I feel so stupid 😔
@@Nitefall77 leonharts channel is where they got me too and trust me I know how you feel. In hind sight it seems obvious what they’re doing but in the moment, you just really want it to be true. I wish there was something more we could do to get them caught or at least make them go away.

My preferred TCG is Magic the Gathering but I played the Pokemon game when it first came out. Your tips on card storage have been very helpful for me and corrected some things that I was doing wrong with my collection and I appreciate the time that you put into your videos to help us take better care of our stuff and to help get rid of these scammers because I see them on other channels too and it's annoying

I'm always shocked to find out people fall for this kind of stuff. The usual argument is age, which I agree with to a certain extent, but even when I was child all my friends and I never fell for these scams lol
Thank you so much for this!!! I actually went through this scam on poke rev's channel and almost fell for it until I dug deeper into his profile and after a day or 2 he changed from pictures of poke Rev and his family to a rapper with a Lamborghini... So glad I didn't pay....
Ive gotten these messages on several CZcams pages. Some of them weren't even for give a ways! I deal with real life scams every day with gift cards. Always feels good letting people know to stop communications and walk away before you lose hundreds if not thousands of dollars.
I like to toy around with the scammers by asking weird questions or just waste their time 😂
This happened to me the other day, I was so excited because I thought I had won something but then I realize it was total scam when they sent me a picture of a fake evolutions booster box, I knew it was fake because of the packaging, so thank you so much for making this video and trying to expose scammers

You should def get in contact with someone like Scammer Payback as he would help you get all the info you would need and more to properly stop these scammers, that and it would make for some great content I bet.

I was watching raidaway and dysmo whom are both cod youtubers and and I commented on there videos and on 1 for each of them I got a comment from these scammers telling me I won so I downloaded telegram messaged the raidaway one then thaught about it and realized this is a scam and immediately uninstalled telegram glad your bringing light to these new type of scammers
I love how Pat spends so much time investigating pokemon scammers just for his viewers. I have never seen a pokemon youtuber that does this kind of stuff and that is why I love this channel so much.

Leaving comments on Rev's videos is where I've been getting these scammer replies the most. I try to report a bunch of them and move on... hopefully CZcams does something about it soon.
These scammers are always based in India. They have a strict script they absolutely stick with regardless of what you say or try to do to knock them off script.
They typically will ask for payment via giftcard and then ask for the card number and pin. Once you start messing with them, they get very persistent and rude for wasting their time.
I get that MOST scammers are based in india, BUT NOT ALL INDIANS ARE SCAMMERS, WITH THE MEST UP SOCIETY WE LIVE IN TODAY EVERYONE SEEMES TO THINK SO, sorry i just wanted to rant, i have these problems being Indian

I actually got one of these reply’s on my comments I thought it was the real pokerev because there was a real giveaway on the video I was watching and I didn’t know how he would contact me and I thought it was legit until he asked for money to cover shipping I then left the conversation after that I was so excited and then very disappointed to find out it wasn’t real but glad to know there are people like you spreading awareness about this problem thanks

Thank you for this video, my daughter was super excited to win from Pokerev and came to me, only to find out it was a scam. She is eight and had no concept that it wasn't true, so I shared this video with her. The fact that these children have no idea about scamers, it is sad to me. I can't thank you enough for this video, I will share it with all my daughters friends parents so that they are aware. Again thank you for spreading awareness and I will do my part in spreading this video. side note we just became a fan and sub'd great content.
Important whenever you find yourself in these kind of situations: never, _ever_ share your personal info with a stranger online. When it’s too good to be true, it usually is! Thanks for covering this issue, Pat! The more people that are aware, the better!

Get these reply’s all the time. The one time my wife actually won something from unlisted leaf we thought it was scam at first. Then we saw that he had a check mark and all that and it actually ended up being real! It was sweet. Few weeks later. Pokémon cards from Australia came in the mail lol

@@tylercochrane36 so it was some of the Pokémon go cards. Mewtwo V alt art, radiant charizard and venasaur and then some others. I think like 9-10 cards in all. We needed the mewtwo for our set so we were happy!

CZcams has a huge problem with these scam channels that just pretend to be other people or just steal contact and reupload it pretending to be other people
I get these comments everyday. It feels like, I appreciate you shutting them down. It gets so annoying
