I could definitely get through that. I’m very confident that the slope is steep enough that at least some of my body parts would make it out the bottom
I could easily get through that too. once
I could get a toe through atleast, I feel very confident about that.
just have to remember "pizza ... french fry. pizza..."
I almost died as I read your comment Tee. My luck I’d break a leg and get wedged in there somewhere. Lol
happy wheels style
Yep. That's slightly above my skiing skills....
VincentTG just a tad
i could do that on one ski backwards lol
Nah its pretty easy
VincentTG just a bit

Just completed my beginner's day course for snowboarding. Think I'm about ready to try this out.
A: not only is it ridiculously steep B: your terrible at it C: go pro doesn't capture depth perception or snow depth

@@llamalukeyt7533 No response? Maybe take the L
Literally a free fall without cohesion. I skied Corbets Collier back in the 70's and thought I arrived. This is a whole new level.
The camera angle doesn’t give the steepness any justice. So much crazier than you guys made it look
It never does
True dat! This is a very good example of how helmet-mounted gopro doesnt show the angle right!! Some guys use a gopro mounted on a stick looking down on the skier, and that can have the opposite effect: making it look steeper than it actually is.
This run is actually insane - one mistake in the gauge and hes likely dead...
Line of the Millennium.
He's on skis
Its true, but from the helicopter view we can see that he is almost free falling in the mountain
I'm surprised his balls made it through that tight opening at the end...

'The scariest thing I've ever done.'
The understatement of all-time.
Now THAT was way rad
Great run and footage
Pretty straight forward? No no no... You don't understand how incredibly steep that is. I don't care if the snow is perfectly smooth, that is a treacherous impossible line. There is no turning to slow your speed because its narrow. Absolutely insane
aboctok lol ...he's right though that ski line was beyond insane
You do not turn to slow your speed. You turn to minimize instability. If you want to slow down then you simply break, just like he did trough out most of the line. I guess there was a short part near the end where it was to narrow to really break. That was the only time he was at any level of risk. A miss-carve could have sent him in to the cliff. But with such speed that is quite unlikely. If it did happen his ski would have jumped up an he would have been forced to ride on one ski. Hopefully the other ski wouldn't hit the wall. If it did then it would hopefully fall of an he could have maintained his balance on one ski.
In worst case scenario he would have hurt him self really badly. But that would have mostly been after the end of the rift. The lack of obstacles makes this line far safer than many others. If he would have hade to avoid a rock/cliff at the end then that would have made this line far more dangerous.
@@MegaBanne The fuck are you talking about? Hope that the ski falls of so he can balance on one ski?
@@MegaBanne You, my friend, are hilarious. "Far safer than many others" What a moron.
@@MegaBanne that is an awful lot of presumptions
I would be like a damn ping pong ball off those walls and they would rename the crevasse "meat grinder" after my demise.
Trippin off the beat kinda drippin off the meat grinder
You hit those rock sides, and you're shredded!!
Oh the mess
😂😂😂
I think whats most incredible is how much he is able to slow down with such little room to work with. Anyone who has skied knows slowing down at all with that little of room is impossible for anyone who isn't extremely experienced.
Legs of steel.
This is bananas. My brain thought that the vertical fissures in the rock were horizontal. Absolutely insanely steep.
To put steepness in perspective: when he gets out of the “rock tunnel” the slope seems to get flat; then a few seconds later you realize that “flat” is ridiculously steep compared to real flat at the end of the slope! Crazy!!!
"the real flat at the end" is even too steep for me =P
dude, all i need is to look at 0:41 and i realize this is basically jumping down a hole with two skis mounted on
If you are going to risk your life, try and get Red Bull to pay for it before you do it. If you are going to do stuff that is borderline suicidal you might as well make some money.
im sure he is sponsored by salomon and other stuff
I bet he earned more money for doing that, vs. what you made last year...
These guys don’t do it for money, they do it for love of the sport. Those who master their crafts do not go into with the intention of making money, hints why they become so good at it and why they can ski lines like this.
@@codyk.8104 Yeah, but if you are going to do it anyway, you might as well make money at it so you can do what you love. It's very expensive to do that stuff.
shut the fuck up
Obviously the opening view from the helicopter is striking, but if you pause at 0:15, it just looks outrageously steep and narrow. Love this video
Absolutely superb! I could feel the rush!
Everyone in the comments who thinks this looks like a walk in the park; a GoPro has a 160•-180• angle so everything looks wider than it is, he is shooting out of the couloir in about 70MPH (which is fast in a groomed slope and this certainly isn't) and all the sluff at the bottom makes it a huge risk to even attempt, plus the steepness is over 60% of 90• wich is the limit for a ski to hold his edge. This is not something that everyone could do, nor is it anything everybody has done. Travis was first but didn't release the clip because it's feautured in his coming film, but to me it's amazing that two (!!) people thought about doing that line.. Totally insane and awesome!
Btw, they named it the Vigina for obvious reasons ;)
+Casper Stein The wide angle lens of a GoPro makes the centre of the field of view look relatively smaller while making stuff to the sides look bigger. In couloirs GoPros usually make it look more challenging than it actually is, because they make the exit of the couloir look smaller while the rock walls to either side appear bigger and more imposing.
+shredcity this is very true, and I stand corrected. Though, I still stand by my claim that it's damn hard and scary to do 😉👍🏼 all love!
+Casper Stein ahhh I was just being argumentative ;) totally agree with everything else you've said, an amazing line!
another big thing with go pros is that everything looks way less steep than it does in person. This is crazy steep and people are like, "I've skied steeper at my home mountain." no. no you haven't. and for the 1% of you who actually have, it was nowhere near this technical or fast. 1 small mistake and he is 100% dead.
I hate the people who say *i can so do that it looks so easy*
I'm pretty sure I've done this as well...

its funny, when you see it from the copter you're like OMG thats undoable! but when you see it from his POV camera, its like oh yeah that's actually pretty straight forward, steep, hell yes, extreme, hell yes but it was smooth snow all the way through the gap, no rocks or drop offs.
Have you ever gone skiing? its all soft, and deep, wich as a non-pro skiing person is a HELL.
no way did you just try and lessen how insane this was
You have no idea about freeskiing... He is going about 60mph there, and its super steep, one mistake and his life is over...
At that speed and with the rock walls that tight, a slight mistake in pressuring the skis and you will smash into the rock walls and get your mangled, pulverized body spit out the bottom..
I said it was straight forward, not simple, nowhere did I say simple, get that correct. Maybe "straight forward" was not the right choice of words. I even said it was hell yes steep and hell yes extreme, so dont go putting words in my mouth I never said, I am in awe of this stuff, and your right I have never done anything remotely as insane as this, my kahones are too small, all I meant to say was that once he got going, it was clear snow, no rocks, no drop offs, so "straight forward" in that way, in an *extremely* downhill direction.
Balls of steel! No margin for error makes this a truly death defying feat!
That should be the title. - Balls of steel.
That was utterly AWESOME!!!!!!
Never seen snow, but this brings me to tears.. seeing someone living a peak life.
Na, I’ve spent most of my 50 years skiing and not until this year did I final find peak life. They put these lounge chairs at the bottom of the solitude mountain resort. They are so comfortable after two mad hits down a green(easy) run, you can just kick back and rest before you tackle some more turns. Now that’s living !
What a coincidence, I'm doing a line right now.
I think they meant Skiing on white powder; not snorting it.
I think you are an idiot.
Watch out for those blacks. They'll beat you up.

Its not only about steepness and line... Its also abaut light contrast... Man... when he comes out of tunnel to light... Unbeleivable!
One thing that cameras never do justice for is ski runs.
Have to say that it was an incredible run & very worthy of Line of the Year!
IS it a myth not to scream loudly on these type of mountains to avoid triggering avalanches?

What an insane run, so narrow and steep through the chute. I like steep and deep but this is light-years above my abilities!!

Paul Devlin You are wrong sir. You have already been condemned to Hell from the moment of your birth. Read John 3:18.
Why? Because you have not believed (alone) on the name of the only begotten Son of God - Jesus.
That is the one and only reason one gets sent to Hell.
Jacob Becomes Israel Then what's the deal with the 10 Commandments?
Jacob Becomes Israel
Which one of the Jesus do you want us to believe in..the Australian, Korean, Russian etc. LOL
Jacob Becomes Israel
So any tribesmen that you see in documentaries that have no contact with missionaires are condemned because they were born in a different place then you and anyone who was born before 1 A.D. is condemned as well because they didn't have anyone to believe in? Seems fair.
that was fun to watch, thanks!

From the helicopter it looks insane but from the helmet cam it looks pretty easy
if it's 'pretty easy', why don't you do it?
its because of the angle the camera is set. Try skiing youself in that situation. I dont know how steep it is. But its enough for you to fall of and break and ankle.
that's mostly because the gopro was at the end of the run when it was getting less steep.
I agree with Jonathan Allard
SupIts Daramaru The steepness of the run is not a big factor, its that its so narrow. Skiing on a steep slope isnt that hard if you have plenty of space, but here getting the correct line is very very hard.
