GoPro: Wingsuit Flight Through 2 Meter Cave - Uli Emanuele
Vložit
- čas přidán 30. 06. 2015
- Uli Emanuele pilots what is possibly the most technical and difficult BASE jump ever. For the past 3 years Uli has been dreaming about and preparing for what could be a world record jump. With just his wingsuit and hiking poles, he climbs to his exit point and realizes there is no turning back.
Shot 100% on the HERO2® camera from GoPro.com.

I get it when people do dangerous stuff, but this is more like that part in a video game that you fail 9/10 times
il est tres stupide!
If you have watched the specials on this you would see how these people who have lost friends and spouses continue to speak of their addiction to the sport. They sound like drug addicts who have seen loved ones die of heroin overdoses but can't bring themselves to quit. These people are literally addicted to the adrenaline rush and are very frank about needing to get closer and closer to the terrain so the "rush" continues to be the same. Eventually the screw up and die. Almost all the "pioneers" of this "sport" are dead and everyone knows someone who has died but they can't see the issue.

13 months after filming this stunt for GoPro, Uli Emanuele died in wingsuit accident. He actually filmed his own death. This is all you need to know about the level of danger involved.
❕
Unfortunately, this does not surprise me.
Far more experienced wingsuit divers have died attempting to pass through caves 10 times as large.
Sad from a very personal point of view.
From an objective point of view this sport seems to be as addictive and deadly as hard drugs.
The objective difference is, that you usually can raise the money required for your addiction legally, until the golden shot takes you ...
Gopro got another sucker to die for footage...
It was actually filmed more than 2 years before Uli died..He wasnt sponsored by Go pro til about a year and half after stunt and many cameras were used .. multiple Sony Hd etc..but because of Go pro sponsoring and releasing on their channel only go pro footage was allowed to be used.
@@BASE1246 Good info. But, it doesn't make him any less dead or his death any less senseless.

@@Whoazer86 then why isn't Jeb Corliss, Sean MacCormac, and hundreds of other wingsuit pilots not that splat of red mist as you refer to it as, after well over 5 years of wingsuit flights??
Don't do that about mountaineers either if you read about or watch video's on people who engage in high-risk activities, you start to like them because you get to know the person through their writing their hopes, ambitions, relationships with family members. Then you learn they died before their 30th birthday completely alone on the side of a mountain after their friends had to leave them because they had to save themselves. After reading enough books about people who do this stuff you realize, that your good with just watching these sorts of things.

I can only imagine how free that this must make you feel Wingsuit flying looks amazing. Before reading the comments my initial thoughts were that while this guy is very talented, it is a bit too reckless to do what he did. Talent can only bring you so far and there are always things beyond anyone's control that can easily bring death. But I doubt he was doing this for the admiration of others. Deep inside, I think he must have really loved this. I am sure that I would, too. Rest in peace Uli. I cannot judge, or do anything but be very grateful for the parts of your life you shared with us all. Ultimately, I do feel that you made the world a more beautiful place, and that is a very good thing. So many spend very long lives spreading greed, and selfishness, or ugliness to the world. As short as your life was, what you did with it was make beauty in flight. I wish you peace and a great next step in your journey.
