DVS can be so powerful when used like this. Just using it for DJing is only half the story.
Exactly dude. Any audio file can be turned into a scratch weapon.
This turntable is dope man I’m gonna have to cop one of these!
Ok . I think I’ll order one . Thanks !!
I am not sponsored or affiliated with them in any way, but I can honestly say, you won't regret it. I love it. I hope you don't have to wait too long.
Nice workflow tool as well. Great mix of modern tech with old school tactile ala Marley Marl scratching over Eric B or Paul Oakenfold “flying in” bits over Happy Mondays Step On.
You need more subs. Brilliant content. I’ve used a Reloop Spin for years, but I’ll be checking out the Omni based on your recommendation
I’m gradually building my subs lol. As I don’t make videos of dogs running into walls or people falling off a roof, the sub increase is definitely a slower one. The Reloop is great but that DVS option on the Omni seals the deal for me. Thanks for watching.
Word!! Dope turntable.
It definitely is. Thank you for watching.
Great portable device 😎👍
It is man. I love it. Thanks for watching.
I’d started back buying vinyl last year and I’ve already quit lol! I don’t have the nostalgia for it anymore either and dig online also. I don’t have anywhere to put all those records in the first place!
Exactly dude. Thank you for watching.
New subscriber here! Glad I found you; I just got ahold of one of these and I love it, amazing sound out of it... Do you have any advice on how to get dvs to work with virtual dj? having a bit of hit and miss with it and cannot get the crossfader to work at all. Any advice is much appreciated.
It’s a lot to explain, but I just googled it when I set up with VDJ. It’s all there. I can’t find the link but there was one post that explained it all. I’ll try and find it.
Great turntable… ticks a lot of boxes.
That turntable looks sick. I had numark pt-01 scratch before, but it felt really cheap and sound quality was not that great.
Yeh they really knocked it out of the park on this one. Thanks for watching.
You have said before “you don’t miss vinyl” but here you are back again with a turntable.😂 If it’s just needle drop and random access you’re after, you could easily accomplish that with a DJ media player. Some media players even have slots for removable storage. It seems to me that the “vinyl bug” bit you long ago, and it’s hard to give it up.
I think what I explained was I don’t miss having 20000 records and all the grief that goes with it, but I do miss the tactile side of it. I do use media players, but I can’t scratch with them. I tried scratching with Pioneer CDJs and it’s just not the same. The advantages of this workflow is zero storage needed for records, tactile scratching and I can still use media players as well. Cheers for watching dude.
@@TheCratesMotel I see you what you did there 😎
I totally understand. I have couple thousand records I’ve had in storage for the last couple years. It in my mind represents a time and a place, like those old photo albums they would have to wrench from my cold dead hands. I envy your resolve and hope to get there myself.
@@ronrobins3513 I think it helped that I had digitzed the whole collection. It definitely made it easier to part with.
@@TheCratesMotel If you had to put a dollar figure on the whole digitizing process, even if you outsourced it, how much do you think it cost you? For instance, I have thought of enlisting some enterprising student to rip my collection to a tidy SSD, but the man hours required would probably be a small fortune.
@@ronrobins3513 Honestly mate, I haven’t got a clue. I did it myself and it took me ten years off and on lol. I didn’t trust anyone else to do it.
Can you please make more "in the box" videos please?
Hey thanks for watching. Yup plenty more to come.
Hi, great work ! Can you please give us the settings for the Omni in Virtual DJ please?
Hey man thank you for watching. I used the settings and info from the manual. It was pretty easy to set up and I am no expert at DVS set ups, believe me www.virtualdj.com/manuals/virtualdj/settings/audiosetup/timecode.html
@@TheCratesMotel Thanks à lot
@@TheCratesMotelHello, I just got the Omni and virtual DJ. I got timecode to work. But how do you get the cut in fader mapped out. Thank you 🙏🔥
@@13winings I used this guide www.virtualdj.com/wiki/How-do-I-map-my-MIDI-controller.html
Dope channel ! Thanks for all you do . What do you think of the sound quality when playing actual vinyl compared to a technics 1200? I have 2 other portable decks and the quality isn’t up to speed to sample from them .
Hey dude thanks for watching. I think it entirely depends on what portable deck you are using and what cartridge and stylus. I paid a little extra for a decent stylus on the Omni. That said, I know plenty of producers who sample from other portable decks. The thing with a 1210 is you’re also getting the sound of the mixer or amp you are using and that can add to the vibe.
Thanks for reaponding ? Would you digitize your vinyl with the Omni ? Sample with it ?
@@TherealDJEmz Yeh definitely, I do it. I don’t have a whole lot of vinyl anymore as I digitized it all and sold it, but I buy the odd piece if I can’t get a digital file of it and when I do I use the Omni.
Great video. Newbie question: If I have an MPC One +, a turntable and a deejay mixer, do I still need an audio interface? Thanks, Conan.
Hey. You don’t need an interface if you have all that. You can scratch or play music straight into your MPC from the mixer if you connect line out of the mixer to line in on the One. The MPC is an interface in itself and can be connected to a computer and used as an interface. Thanks for watching dude.
@@TheCratesMotel Thank you for all you do.
Yeah thats dope.
Question: Is the ultra speed 78rpm or faster? Great option to have it on there, most likely its there for old emu (sp12) uses and the like, limited sample time would result in spinning record fast with platter off to fit more in the sample time, as im sure you remember. Really nice to have that as a feature on that turntable.
Unfortunately it’s the opposite. It is basically the 33 and 45 combined. You can have it at the slowest 33 with the pitch control fully anti clockwise and the fastest 45 fully clockwise. I used to have a 78rpm player when I had my SP1200 in the late 80s just for that purpose.
@@TheCratesMotel Ah got it. Cheers dude.
Great vid, you earned a new sub
@@1337murk thanks man
can you recommend any battery driven speakers for outdoor use (just for listening to music) that work well with omni, i have a jbl xtreme 2 which connected to the omni is not as loud as if you stream music from the iphone, hmm ... speaker should be loud enough to entertain 10-20 music enthusiasts. any help would be highly appreciated.
Hey buddy, I can’t to be honest. The only portable speaker I use is a small Bose one and that is probably not as loud as your JBL. Maybe it is worth contacting the guys at Headache Sounds and seeing if they can offer any advice. There is also a decent Omni user group on Facebook that is quite helpful. Thanks for watching.
@@TheCratesMotel thanks
Will it work with Serato DJ ?
It’s not supported in Serato apparently. It might work but I don’t have the software to test it. Serato are very weird about who they allow to support their software/hardware for some reason.
