Wht a pigsty that farm is. I hope u told the owner that the only way u can eradicate the rats is he needs to clean the place up.
Actually I told him we are going to clean up the place. I don't want him moving things and spreading the rat infestation to places I can't access as easily. In one of the videos coming up, you will see us begin the cleanup process. We would have started the clean up the last series of videos, but they didn't have any trailers available for us to load with garbage. because they were all occupied for the crop harvest.
@@JosephCartertheMinkMan Hey, Joseph. Is there a way to get to the rats that escaped into the giant grain feeders that the dogs can't follow into? Boss almost had one and it went into it before he could bite it.
Я бы не удивился, если бы там нашли пару трупов(шутка)😊
The junk should be made into landfill crap, & scrapyard/recycling stuff. If he can make some $ w/ all that metal, that'd be great. If nothing else, it'll help pay toward all the work you're putting into his property.
Divided or separated, not made.
I’m a retired farmer. My farm was nicely kept with no junk laying around. This farmer is a piece of work keeping his farm junked up like this. This guy created his own problem by not keeping his place cleaned up.
Exactly what I was thinking..The farmer provided homes for vermin.
Yeah but we wouldnt have content.. hehe
i thought exactly the same, the who place is a tip...
Maybe he’s disabled now, or has no helpers, lots of reasons….we can’t know everything about why, but for the grace of God go I.
Facts 👍🏻
I hope they're paying you well for this. You mentioned having a hard time finding places that needed your services, but this place is a safety hazard for all involved.
Yes no good for the dogs

@@ricardomeertens9165 they replace humans with dogs. Something i find incredibly cruel to do to a dog as it can never reciprocate. Forcing dogs to live unnatural lives because we have been brainwashed into valuing ourselves over families and children.

More like a junkyard than a farm. Glad the dogs never got injured.
This one is a hard watch. All that junk and sharp sheet metal just laying all over everywhere just had me stressed out worrying for the safety of your animals.
Hoarders 🙄 like is this a farm or a junkyard
Me too! I always wonder how often they sustain injuries.
Your fears are mostly unfounded. The natural world has just as many dangers. Nature has jagged rocks, unexpected holes, thorn bushes. Animals have to learn to avoid injury while navigating their environment. This is their environment and they navigate it without without injury the overwhelming majority of the time. They can work in this stuff for weeks without so much as a scratch!
@@JosephCartertheMinkMan Jagged rocks won't cause infections that rusty metal does. Their effectively accidental Caltrops.
@@JosephCartertheMinkMan There is a massive difference between a rock and a jagged rusted piece of metal hidden in tall grass. You have to be clueless to not know the difference and I know you are a smarter man then that.
I'm assuming a lot, but I think the farmer feels overwhelmed by the state of his place. I know that our local LDS ward sends kids out to help when a disabled or older person needs it, and/or I've hìred day laborers to clean up my yard. Maybe something like this would help? This place is a danger!
Actually I told him we are going to clean up the place. I don't want him moving things and spreading the rat infestation to places I can't access as easily. I just love how every dog and mink knows it's task and then there's Bindi, the standout star of the show. ❤
Yes Bindi is a badass
I like Bindi she is the retriever and the hunter in the group.
Bindi comes from an impressive line of American pit bull terriers who pedigree goes back to that famous Spike blood of Mr Tom Garner. Santos, grandson of Grand Champion Spike is still siring dogs today.
Bindi is getting more intelligent by every video. Well trained and disciplined
That farm is a mess. Well done on your fur babies catching all those rats 🐀 👏 👍
It is too disgusting with rusty metal. Poor dogs.
They aren't 'fur babies', they are working dogs.
@@lmp8932 Working fur babies. Got a problem?
@@lmp8932 I hate the 'term' fur babies with a passion. It not only infantilizes very capable and sometimes dangerous animals, it shows the sick mindset of seeing pets as substitute for children.

Joseph, I salute you and your Dog/Mink team for accepting that cleanup.
Greetings from South Africa.
I have to say that from all YT videos about dogs doing funny things and what not, these ones are the happiest dogs I've ever seen.
Really cool seeing when you accidentally told your dogs to attack the mink and they refused, as you said, your dogs are solid!
All you need is to train a parrot to yell commands and you got a fully automatic pest control machine.

That’s a farm that needs a permanent wild mink resident
Or a couple of good ratter dogs.
Or a diligently savvy owner would be better
That one rat that used Bindi as a springboard 🤣🤣
Never get sick of the slow motion “goooooooooood daaaawwwwwwwggggs..” 😂
Minks never cease to amaze me on how many rats they can get
I just LOVE watching Boss at work. Economy in motion is about the only way to describe him. You don't see those wild bounding chases like with Gypsy or Leia because Boss knows where the rat will be and is there, ready to send it to Rat Hell. Between his wisdom and Bindi's smarts along with the tenacity of Leia and Gypsy you have a great dog team, but add in the mink and it's a rat cleanup dance party. Keep up the great work, Joe and team!
That is absolute rat heaven. They'll always be over-run.
I don't know about that. The pheasant farm that they worked on a few years ago hasn't had rats for two or three years now. Joe's crew worked themselves out of that job. Haha
next time you should bring a scrapper. he would probably work for free.
This is possibly one of the most hazardous environments for the dogs to work in, what with the collapsed building, sharp corrugated roofing panels, splintered wood and rusty nails that could easily puncture or impale and a plethora of other sharp objects lying around.😬 Glad none of the dogs and mink suffered any injuries. This farmer really needs to get his act together and clean up all the rubbish and scraps laying around providing shelters and homes for vermin.

@@JosephCartertheMinkMan I'm sorry but I know that you understand your animals better the us viewers and you obviously take GREAT CARE of your animals , I don't mean to offend but when a dog is lunging it's face in to a load of wire 2:43 or running over old wooden pallets with nails sticking out , accidents can happen. 3:29 you nearly dropped the pallets onto your own dogs head. Farms are a man made environments not the untouched wilderness.
@@JosephCartertheMinkMan "Your fears are mostly unfounded. The natural world has just as many dangers. Nature has jagged rocks, unexpected holes, thorn bushes."
I'm merely pointing out the dangers of the working environment, not attacking you.
No offence Joe, but you're comparing nature to man made products which animals don't know nor understand that they can be harmful to them. They don't understand rusty nails and other sharp objects can cause serious injuries or death, because animals just don't have the same risk assessment brains as humans do. Of course, all living creatures try to avoid obstacles/objects so as to not get injured, but in the heat of a pursuit of a prey(like a rat), they're too focused and may not see the dangers and that's when they get hurt.
What they do understand is not to take risks and fight in a confrontation with their own species or other creatures as that could spell their death if they're injured, due to not being able to forage or hunt for food. Animals only fight or defend themselves when necessary, if their own life is at risk or as a last resort if there's no escape.
@@metarugia3981The animals do understand... Why do you think there is little to no injury in any of these videos lol if anything Joe gets hurt more than the dogs dude gets bit by rats to the bone and steps on nails
Any environment where dogs work is the most hazardous. If a dog has a slim chance of hurting itself then that's just the price of business, besides, most dogs go their entire lives without once fulfilling some kind of purpose.
I randomly paused the video on Bindi and she has some battle scars on her nose, a real warrior by my standard. boss is also looking worth his salt
That catch in the air was epic!!
Well done. I hope the farmer is going to start shifting some of that debris so that your dogs and minks can have better access to those rats. Great work as always. Thanks for doing such a fantastic service in such an organic and eco-friendly way.

Make sure you charge them for clean up and the price of the trailers! That will be a huge, hazardous job. There is a lot of scrap metal too you could get money for.
These videos never cease to fascinate me. A much healthier method than poison.
I truly appreciate these videos. Mink are just awesome. It's great to see working dogs put to work and clearly enjoying what they're doing, its great to see the such a meaningful relationship between man and animal, and that you're doing the community a service in a natural more humane way is just an added bonus. My kids love watching with me. Bindi the “smart doggie” is the star of the show!!
MY GOD! I'm having panic attacks watching the dogs flying over all those sharp edges!
Drama queen 😂
I like the differences in the tail action when the dogs are excited, from Gypsys excited wiggle to Bosses elegant wave.

@ 19:19 when you say "come watch".. Bindi sure took that seriously. She was laser focused looking after u said that. 😅 you can literally see the intensity in her eyes. Lol
I hope that you'll be charging them a little extra for your cleanup efforts, Joe!
The more I watch videos like this, the more I feel this would have been a perfect job for my terrier mix years ago. Lived in Florida where there are the smaller Black rats, and between him, my dachshund mix, and my brother's pittie, the rat population in our old sheds completely disappeared.
This Farmer should own many of minks. Lol
Keep it up!
Boss reminded me of Jeter scooping up a ground ball by the green tractors. lol
Boss is the best.. such a damn good dog
I love how Boss and Bindi (clearly his protégé) are intelligent and gracious enough to allow Leia, Gypsy and Gremlin to take the rats they've caught and polish them off, while they go look for fresh prey. It's both very sporting of them, and shows that they know that the little ones have it covered; now let's get back to the slaughter!
I hope the next time, this farmer gets more assistance (not just from you) to move all this equipment and debris to give them fewer places to hide.

I came across you a few years ago and have been enthralled with your content and the work you do since. I have even gotten several friends to sub to your channel and we discuss your videos all the time. What you do and how you do it is simply amazing and the way you work with and for your animals is out of this world. On top of that, your videos are educational and wholesome in a way most content isnt anymore. Keep up the good work and this amazing content!
I used to hate videos like this because i thought they were cruel, but after learning just how much trouble rats can really cause I've grown to like them more.
Sure it still sucks that the rats unfortunately have to be killed, but the farmers have to do what is right for their crops and stuff, plus the dogs have a blast doing it!
I’m glad you educated yourself on real issues like these. On top of everything, rats and mice are an insane safety hazard. I love animals and would even keep a rat as a house pet, but I feel relieved to see farms get cleared up of this pest… plus, like you mentioned, it’s physically and mentally amazing for the dogs. And yet *another* benefit of this is that the rats go out in a natural way, killed by natural predators rather than starving in glue traps or slowly having poison affect their neurons. Now *that’s* cruel.
Absolute W comment and character development.
Seriously though, good on you for seeing what it really is; a necessity. The rats die but they die the way nature intended via natural predators. No poison or excessive cruelty needed. Just a quick snap and it's over.
"the way nature intended" isn't always quick and painless. Many animals kill/eat their prey in the most painful way imaginable. Chimps tear their victims in half and start eating while they are still alive and there's PLENTY more examples of this in nature.
Don't think "mother nature" is all sunshine and rainbows.
I was in the same boat. Younger me was vehemently anti-hunting of any sort. But everything lives in a connected circle, and removing predators to be "nice" ends up hurting more in the long run, not just the rats. Older me actually wants to get my hunting license now, too.
If it makes you feel better, rats are on this earth for nothing more than being food for higher level animals.
Joseph says he calls this the "grain" farm, but that is not the name that comes to my mind.
Great teamwork! I bought your one book about training minks and can’t wait until it is delivered today.
An an APBT owner myself, I got a little worried when I saw Bindi lock in on a rat on that collapsed Tin. Just cuz the drive of that breed, I was worried she might accidentally get cut or injured goin after it on that junk😅. Cuz they'll go hard without concern for themselves sometimes. But I see she is very well trained. Love watching!

It's easyer to fight Talibans in the mountains than fighting rats in a messy place like that. It's a lost battle if you don't deprive them from places to hide and from sources of food.

Every good farm needs a few rotting deer carcasses scattered about at random. They go nicely with the collapsed buildings and dead rusting machinery.
