john cook nobody says Ben is a perfect guy, he did many terrible things and made many bad choices in the past, it runs by the Mitchell family, he is indeed a really complex character with many conflicting sides, but here my comment is only just talking about it’s nice to see him smile since it’s been quite a while since he smiles, and you got to admit, max can smile well! Nothing else, he still has a heart compare to phil, and frankly Martin is also a complicated person too, he is no saint as well, he made bad mistakes in the past too

Maybe it's wishful thinking but why do I think they're setting Ben up to be the new Mitchell patriarch, dethroning Phil and becoming the nicer gentler Mitchell's? All these scenes with him taking care of Peggy and Louise and his scenes with Lexi. I don't know, its interesting and I would love it.
That's an interesting interpretation. Personally, I think that they're trying to show how Ben is trying to hold everyone together while he himself is struggling, which would lead to an inevitable breakdown and a reunion with Callum. Love your idea too tho and I think either would work well.
Well, the writers did done a great job by creating this mess, I am really conflicted and have mixed feelings right now! At least Ben and Louise have a heart, there’s still humanity in there! I hope the writers will make this all work again, praying every day!!
