Control Charts (Process Behavior Charts) are wonderfully versatile tools. They will indicate when your process needs attention, substitute for T Tests and ANOVA to show the effect of change, test the assumptions of statistical tests, help you find root cause, tell you when it is time to adjust the process (avoiding tampering), help you set reasonable specification limits, evaluate the precision and accuracy of your measurement system, and detect a trend in your process.
