I found your answer about aging brutally honest and refreshing. So, as a 58 year old subscriber that watches you and many others regularly let me tell you this....you ARE beautiful but you are just as talented. You have a great knowledge of the make-up and skincare world. You clearly understand and artfully utilize the theory of color. You have a fierce (in a good way) personality. And clearly a great work ethic. You’re going to age....trust me, we can’t stop it. But I suspect you’re going to do it with style.

HARLEY JENN MC I only followed her since few weeks and she is really a great makeup artist on CZcams and wanted to know her better, just watched her tattoos story video and this one and I wanted to say that I think she is clever, really strong, brave, she has an original and personal style and I am impressed that she has an other job and children, do not change!
Mel, I have to tell you that I am absolutely stunned, shocked and disgusted by most of these questions. It is unbelievable that people actually think of these questions and then have the nerve to ask you these absurd questions. You are a great, incredibly talented MUA. You seem to be a very nice person who is completely dedicated to their spouse and family and you are soooo beautiful! Things like your sexuality and finances are your own business and you should not have to answer to your subscribers. You are here to review makeup and show us how you use it; you do an excellent job at both. I don't get how people think they are entitled to be privy to your personal information; I chalk it up to how much social media has destroyed good manners and common decency. Wow !! That is just amazing what people think that they are entitled to know. Damn I would block them also. You are not obligated to answer any of them. It’s nobody’s business. You do a great job giving us great information. Thank you. There are much older women out there on CZcams not just 20 year olds. There are a couple in late 60’s and are still beautiful. You rock.

Michele, I stumbled on your channel awhile ago and recently (yesterday) watched your video reviewing Tom Ford's Shade and Illuminate foundation (love your channel, by the way). That's how I found Mel's channel (she also did a review on TF's S&I foundation). What an awesome spirit she has. I totally agree with you! You both are a delight to watch!
P.S. I ended up buying the foundation because of you. LOL
I strongly this dislike this aspect of Social Media. Many people feel that because its a comment section this gives them the right to say whatever and ask whatever they want. People have totally lost tact, kindness, and consideration. This was actually painful to watch, because I can't believe people would ask such intrusive/personal questions. Desi P just did an emotional video asking people not to make comments or ask certain questions. Im really sorry this your experience and you felt the need to address this foolishness. You did it with class and beauty! You're amazing, clearly hard working, and beautiful! I wish you many more blessings in marriage, motherhood, and work! Especially marriage since they brought that negative energy.. You will never have to change your channel name!

Age is absolutely just a number! Why should anyone shame you for making videos at 42? That's insane. I have a feeling whoever is shaming you is just jealous. I am almost 68 and have never had one single birthday that bothered me. I have purple and blue hair, wear the latest makeup, my last guy (who lived with me for 8 years) was 25 years younger than me and I don't even act my age. I'm not even sure how my age is supposed to act! LOL I watch a lot of youtubers (beauty and otherwise) from their 20's to one of my favorites who is 75 (I think) Her channel is rxstrmom and she is adorable. I would be happy if I look as good as she does when I'm 75.
I already miss your presence on CZcams so much. Your passing has left a huge hole in the heart of the beauty community. Rest in peace, Mel. You were truly special. ❤❤❤

I had no idea about your legs girl, how many surgeries, your insecurities about that, that you can’t walk as well as you’d like. 💗💗 I’m so so sorry. You are so beautiful, inside and out, you have amazing skill at makeup it’s so admirable, and I really admire your honesty. It’s only going to get us to connect to you more!
Ps. Totally agree about that question re: your channel name! If someone says “what if you get divorced” etc, not cool. Don’t speak that into the air! So I’m going to speak into the air that I can’t WAIT for you to tell us about your anniversaries and all the love you and puffin are going to share over the years 💕💕

One of the reasons I subscribed was because of your age! I don't want advice from a 20 year old. I want to hear from someone with experience and knowledge. I just want to say it's so nice to have a CZcamsr around my own age (33 here), that can show me how to try new things that look tasteful while also being fun on my so-not-20-year-old skin. I appreciate the emotional maturity that you have on your channel too...the fact that you don't have to do stupid tricks to get others to watch your channel and are so down to earth is so refreshing. People can be very clueless about the realities of living with chronic illness, chronic pain & ongoing physical challenges/injuries but because everyone has experienced acute pain & have been sick at one time or another THEY THINK they know. You can't even compare two people with chronic pain or two people who have the same chronic disease/diagnosis because illness/pain/injuries manifest themselves differently in different people.I've found that the people who like to question how others are handling their pain/illness in a way that suggests that they think you are somehow doing it wrong, like the commenter did, are usually very ungrateful people who take their health (& other things) for granted. You are clearly doing exceptionally well coping & functioning despite your knee/health issues & I imagine you could teach us all a thing or two about resilience, persistence & "being positive" in the face of significant challenges. I think you should be proud of yourself & hope your see that your strength & resilience are among those "other things" besides your beauty that you can draw your sense of self & your self-esteem from. I love your channel.❤️

Your answer on how you handle aging hits SO close to home. I know EXACTLY how you feel. I’d also like to say, major kudos to you for even answering some of the insanely RUDE questions. You’re an incredible person and I quite admire the the grace you have with how you deal with anything thrown your way. Speaking as a high functioning paraplegic with an autoimmune disorder, you’ve been handling everything beautifully from what I see.

I know I shouldn't be surprised by anything on the internet anymore, but I'm still always shocked when I see people posting rude comments/questions. I think you really handled these amazingly; I couldn't see myself being as classy or as patient as you!
I agree with you on Jeffery. He is not the type of person I want or can support. I’ve heard great things about the quality of his products, but it doesn’t matter. I’ll use my dollars elsewhere.

Well spoken, kind, and relatable. You are more than your artistry, your inner beauty highlights your outward appearance, which comes across in your video's. Some of those rude/awkward questions just baffle me- doesn't matter if you're on social media, some questions are best left unasked. Kudos to you for answering them. I am almost 40 (next year) and I went through the SAME thing you're going through about aging when I was in my early 30's. As I got through my late 30's I was happier than I have ever been (there is something amazing that happens to a woman in her late 30's, you become VERY confident in your own skin, it's such a beautiful thing). And, I recently started my own youtube channel because of that confidence and helping women who are almost 40 and saying "I can't wear my makeup like I did in my early 30's". I love how honest you are in this video, and, you're sooooo talented, yeeeees, I am pretty sure most people are here subbing because of your talent. It's just a bonus you have a goooorgeous face to look at❤❤ P.S. ive been conflicted about Jeffree Star and reviewing his products, and you just inspired me to follow my heart and walk away from reviewing his stuff. He's nothing I stand for and I appreciate you being so honest and it struck me deep❤❤ Thanks babe..

Wow, you handled these questions with such poise and grace. Questions you didn’t have to answer, no less. I haven’t even been watching your channel for very long (a few months, I think?) but in that time it has been apparent to me how hard you work and the incredible level of skill you have.
I find it incredible that there are so many rude, judgmental, intrusive people that assume that not only are these sort of questions acceptable to ask, but also assume you are obliged to answer and justify them! I have so much respect and admiration for you to have done this video and can relate with many of the subjects you’ve touched on. I’m 40 years young and have a rare chronic illness, Gastroparesis, which is basically paralysis of the stomach. My case is very severe and I’ve actually been on a 24hr feeding tube for the past (almost) 4 years, as I cannot tolerate food by mouth anymore. At my worse I was 64 lbs in the ICU. I was up to about 87 at one point but due to complications and am probably around 70 right now. So yes, I totally understand your insecurities, frustrations, all of that. In high school whenever I would say my stomach was bothering me so many people would say, “you’re such a hypochondriac”. People are always making comments about my weight. Telling me, “you need to get some weight on you”. Really? Do ya think? Can you imagine I I went up to an overweight person and said, “you really should try and lose some weight for your health”? I’m also self conscious about my tubes. Lol, they’re just not that sexy. I’m fairly new to the whole world of beauty/makeup on CZcams and actually started watching them to try and find ways to make my face look fuller. And sorry, but it’s difficult to be positive all of the time in general. Especially when you’re in pain, anxious, etc. Like you, I try to laugh about as much as I can. Or yea, I’ll sob😭. When you were talking about aging it made me think of a shirt I got from a thrift shop. I was probably around 21 at the time. It said, “I know I’m beautiful. Tell me I’m efficient”. I never really understood that until I got older. And I have to bring up your hair. Girrrl, it’s F’ing fabulous. I’ve had some super short hairstyles and have actually wanted to go as short as yours, but never had the balls to do it. You have an incredibly gorgeous face and I love that your hair showcases that work of art.
But this video shows how much unbelievable class you possess. Thanks so, so much for sharing yourself with the world.

I always find you upbeat and happy. Also, take it from a 53 year old, you just do the best you can with your skin. Be it your diet and the products you use. Remember, your subscribers will be getting older as well and will look to your expertise on how to make their make up work. Love your channel.

Your channel is one of my favorites not only are you creative but you always review what I'm interested in. I cant believe the questions people have asked you there is clearly no thought or filter these days. Also as a woman who's had short hair for years its incredibly frustrating when people question your sexuality. I think you rock your haircut well and I look forward to more Q/A's.

Starting from the age of 13 I have had over 40 surgeries on my legs I’ve had skin graphs debridement and have come close twice to having my leg amputated, I am super insecure and I fight through depression daily so I can really relate. I was actually in the hospital for a month over a year ago again and I was bedridden for over four months following and that’s when I got into makeup a friend of mine is a make up artist gave and me an eyeshadow palette and I figured that palette needed some friends, and makeup has been therapy for me I don’t feel pretty and I have so many scars and makeup in someways is an scape.... i’m crying as I type this because sometimes you just fight through it you don’t even say how you feel out loud because sometimes the reality is just too painful I really wasn’t expecting you to say what you said about your legs and it really just hit me and I relate. Sending love to you! Also my son who is eight about to turn nine is the number one reason I get up each and every day with a smile on my face even on days that is a struggle to do so he is my main force of strengths
You made me tear up reading that. You have to be a strong person to be able to handle all of that, I can't even imagine but my heart goes out to you. I completely get what you mean with makeup...it's an outlet, something to get our mind off of pain. I hope that makeup continues to be therapeutic for you and that you have more good days than bad. Aww I’m fairly new to your channel, I knew basically nothing about you but subbed because your reviews are spot on and your relaxing to watch do makeup. You already felt relatable and now I think you’re a sweetheart and I’m sorry you get such strange and invasive questions. Please don’t feel the need to answer such questions that make you feel uncomfortable or invaded. If any, I’d figure a makeup product or technique one are reasonable. I watch your channel because you are very good at teaching and explaining everything from what you like about certain products and how to use them. You are an artist!
