    Don't stop using Retin-A. I wish I had started 30 years ago. Regardless, after 10 werks of it, everyone I know stops me and compliments my stunning skin. Not bad for an over-sixty snow white and very sensitive complexion. Retin-A is changing my game.

      How do u use retin a on your very sensitive skin? I am 25, have eczema and afraid to use tretinoin (i am currently using retinol). In my country tretinoin does not need prescription.

  • @aleileen9836

    Tretinoin has a two-part benefit: Helping to reduce pigmentation and acne, and helping to slow the aging process/formation of wrinkles with continued use. Personally, I wouldn't stop using it just because my skin looked 'as good as it's going to get' after a year. Check out the ladies who have been using it for 5, 10, even 15+ years. I've been using it for 3 with no plans to stop.

    I have been on .1% Tretinoin for almost a year now. My smile lines were RED AND DRY! OMG. Painful to smile, too. When I started my neck it felt like a shell was on my skin. I started with too much product, too often.
    I'm back to 3-4x's a week but I still use it with a moisturizer.
    You have better results with no moisturizer? If so, I'll try that. Unfortunately I have not noticed very large results and by now, and I definitely I should have. But ... I've always used a toner, Tretinoin and then a moisturizer on top before bed. If just the Tretinoin is all I should be using before bedtime, I'll do that starting tomorrow. Thank you! 😊
    You're looking sooo good! You can see it in your eyes with how much better you feel. So happy for you and great results! 👏🏻💞

    Omg. Thanks for the pic. My skin looked like that with fine wrinkles and look dry though not peeling anymore. Every night I am thinking if I should stop since my skin still looked a bit dry with fine lines. I do notice my skin is firmer. Then I told myself many took 6-8 months to see some results and more after 1-2 years of usage to encourage myself to continue (especially so when my skin no longer peel). This pic of yours is encouraging me further. I hope my skin will be like yours after 6 months of retin a! ☺️😍

    Girl!! I have tried soooooo many different cleaners! And I don't like the Clinique cleanser(dries me out too much as well), and I still use the Philosophy sometimes. But, I have e suggestions that won't cost you an arm and a leg lol, but I think that you will love. And if you don't want to buy the full sizes, they all have little sizes as well, or even ask for a sample. I suggest the First Aid Beauty face cleanser, Korres Greek yogurt foaming cleanser and Fresh Soy cleanser!! Also, right now Korres has a large size cleanser and a jar of the nourishing sleeping facial in a set for a great value and now it just even went on sale from that! The First Aid Beauty cleanser is actually in a kit right now with a travel size and a bar version on sale for $10. And lastly, Fresh always has different kits with them in there and even some of the big Sephora Favorites usually come with one. I'm sure you being you have prob already tried at least 1 of these if not all, but these are cleansers that I love and feel are def worth the money.

    Hello, may I give you a advice, never stop retin a. I use retin a for long time now since my 20's and I have amazing results. the best is doing tca peel or laser and after restart retin a oh my God the results are just amazing.
    what I like is I have no wrinkles with beautiful skin texture my skin is full.
    I never had botox or filler.
    just tca peel and retin a .
    best product ever.
    never ever stop retin a .😊

    • @alanwisdom7777
      @alanwisdom7777 Před 8 lety

      ***** hello I'm 40 now, you know people are focus on botox and filler but what make you looking young ? It's the quality of the skin, I made 5 Tca peel in 20 year's 3 in period of time of 1 years just before turning 40. I do Tca peel myself but the first two I went to the dermatologist I pay around 80 dollars for 35% Tca peel full face.
      Now I know are to do and how my skin react but I recommend going to the dermatologist if you never have Tca peel before this is very IMPORTANT.
      I done my Tca peel around my eyes too upper and lower eyelids and ît is as if I had a facelift around my eyes. Amazing results.
      So what I recommend to you , is to having few peel minimum 2 in period of time 1 years .
      During this period your skin she's gonna to renew and reborn by herself, new collagen new elastin make your skin full and clear.
      Do you use retin a? If you don't start right away and never stop.
      The first Tca peel is gonna to clean your skin from sun damage sunspots and star the repair process of the skin, after the 2 Tca peel you gonna to have kind of chemical facelift.
      After the third peel your skin is completely renewed no wrinkles amazing texture.
      Don't forget the neck !
      This is what I recommend to you.
      The Base is retin a forget expensive cream use retin a with hyaluronic acid cream to hydrate your skin.
      Use retin a as the lotion not the cream much better .

    I wish MAC would offer more of their moisturizers in stable packaging. I am obsessed with the studio moisture cream, which I buy in the squeeze tube. I've been really loving the turnaround moisturizer from Clinique (in a jar :/) and am interested in the MAC lightful C cream. I think the Clinique one has really helped with the texture on my skin. I have 4 pretty deep acne scars that haven't changed, but overall I think it's a lot smoother. I also love the MAC Vibrancy Eye for my undereyes.
    I'm thinking if getting something for my mother in law for her birthday (which is also mothers day haha) to help with her dark spots. The chemo she's on really makes her skin vulnerable to the sun. I'll probably have to ask her about what she can use because there's a lot of stuff she can't do on her treatments.

    Good for u Mel it's a huge difference great job!!! You are beautiful. I've been struggling using Tretinoin 0.5% for almost 8 months now I tried the whole titration thing it's just hard to do because the next day my face is red and hot very uncomfortable then to add make up for work...yuck. I've even cut it with a moisturizer. The derm said to try retinol instead because of my sensitive skin, but it will still be drying and my skin still needs to adjust so why not just use the "real" thing right? I think I'll start again because this is an inspiring video. I use the Refissa. What is the name of ur product?

    I have just overhauled my cleansing routine and also have sensitive skin as well and I have fallen in the with the Mario Badescu line if you ever are looking to try something new. How long did you use the Retin-A before you saw results?

    Hi Mel Ive watched all your retina A videos now. When your skin was at its worst with the initial peeling were you still able to put makeup on top of that and look good? Even when your skin was 'wet' and red from irriatation. I have my tretinion cream and Im ready to start im just a bit nervous about how to cover the irritation in the first few weeks Thanks!

    • @melthompson2856
      @melthompson2856  Před 7 lety

      I was able to...but I always had to use a beauty blender. I couldn't use a brush or it would make it look worse.Oh, and a lot of MAC Fix +

    • @melthompson2856
      @melthompson2856  Před 8 lety +1

      I think I was a little more in the before, but not much. When I make that face now, the same thing just doesn't happen. It's a lot smoother. However, I'm not sure if it's the eye cream or the retin a that did most of the correcting but I do like the eye cream :)

    i keep reading that youre not supposed to put it under your eyes, but thats where im getting the fine lines..so what should i do? should i just stick with a retinol on my undereyes and retin-a on the rest of my face?

    • @ginao6810
      @ginao6810 Před 5 lety

      Mariah Zalera I use my retinol under my eyes, but very carefully. I don’t do right up to my lash line, I keep it on border of my cheek and under eye. That’s where the bulk of the fine lines are.
      And applying an eye cream first to the whole under eye, and letting it soak in, then applying the retinol is a great tip. Especially when you first start. Your skin takes a few months to get used to retinol. Be gentle and patient
      I’ve been using retinol for 2 years now and the different is staggering! Hope it works as well for you too!

    • @melthompson2856
      @melthompson2856  Před 8 lety

      Retin a alone won't do as much as the combo that I use. I had sun damage so I use a retin a that has hydroquinone in with it. That lightens the damage.

    Could you tell me how to get this prescription. My doctor seems confused about there being both hydroquinone and retinol. My insurance denied my request for only hydroquinone so I'm hoping they will approve it with retinol in it instead.

    • @melthompson2856
      @melthompson2856  Před 7 lety

      chelsea B it may be something that just a few dermatologist's offices do... the one I use is made by my derm clinic. But if you got a prescription for the hydroquinone and Retin a, you can mix them for the same thing. Sadly, mine isn't covered by my insurance either. But it lasts so long that the cost is way better than the over the counter creams that don't even work lol
