In 1871, the city of Pforzheim in Germany was coming up as a hub of jewellery and watchmaking with skilled craftsmen pouring into the city from everywhere.
27-year-old Bernhard H Mayer, a talented young metal engraver with an entrepreneurial streak recognised the opportunities available and set up his metal engraving workshop in Pforzeim. With the abundance of talent and resources available, he was able to grow and expand his business to include different type of work in precious metal including minting coins and medallions. Since then, the Mayer brand has been part of many of history's important events over the last century and a half.
From a small family business in Germany that endured the test of time, Bernhard H. Mayer has grown into a premier Swiss Watch brand known for high-quality timepieces and jewellery. Every piece of luxury item that comes out of the BH Mayer atelier in Switzerland is a testament to the legacy of excellence the Mayer family has been known for since 1871.
