I understand today, much to my surprise, his family farm near Bagn was burned by the German army in April 1940. Does anyone know the reason for burning the farm? Was it simple vengeance by the invading German army? Or, was there a strategic reason behind the deplorable German action?
Hi! I am from Bagn and I can tell you why they burned his farm. Hans Leite was well known here of his resistance against the germans. The germans wanted to take him becouse he killed and bombed office for german commands in "Hallingdal. They burned the farm for revenge and killed his family.
