Nice tutorial! I’m wondering if there are some products that would not be as advisable since you were going to be smoking the tobacco that is laying on here? Or is it pretty much a non-issue?
Thanks for stopping by! These are great questions. Coincidentally, the type of dye used in leather working is the same dye used to restore old briar pipes (typically Fiebings). The "leather balm with atom wax" used here is a fancy name for a proprietary liquid carnauba wax blend. Carnauba wax is what is used for sealing many restored pipes as well. Overall, I would think that the products in this use are inconsequential (but I am not a doctor nor a chemist). Stay well.
