I'm pretty sure your landlord has seen you and knows how talented you are. You are actually, probably creating a better place in a whole for the next tenant, he'll be able to charge more. So of course he's gonna say yes to you being the sweetheart you are and doing it for him is also saving him tons of money. Stay in peace. Oh Yay and your mom awesomely talented.

I know this video is 2 years old. I removed a bush that housed black snacks wasp and mosquitoes by our back steps. The person we rent from was angry and now he loves the roses I planted besides the step. He was upset because it was something his mother planted in the 40s. I kept the ones upfront though

I too noticed that. The old pieces you find have served a purpose, lived a pre existing life, and you re- imagine them and give them new intention. It is a beautiful thing...

Yes! Like accepting that the rug is a little wider than in your perfect imagination of it, but saying it’s good enough to be great! If everyone could do this, there’d be less waste. Also, as I opened the video today, I thought to myself, “She actually does things that real people can do, so it’s a good idea to watch this and store the ideas in my brain for our upcoming move!” Thank you for being inspirational and realistic!
smal suggestion: If you switch your washer and dryer, the doors will be open to each other and your workflow will be better 🥰
On a lot of washers and dryers, you can switch the hinges so the doors open the way you want!
Your landlord should be paying you. The difference is amazing. Love the still life painting your Mum did, one very talented lady with a very talented daughter.
The laundry room looks a lot better is much more organized and functional it’s light and airy and beautiful and every time you go in there now you’re going to feel awesome because there’s nothing better than queen

I love this room so cute! You could totally put some LED lights under cabinet to give that lamp feel at night but also give some good close up lighting for spot treatment when spray and wash clothes. Lots of fun in your new space! Enjoy 😊
The transformation on this space... wow!!! What a great decision to put the washer/dryer side by side and open up access to that window. Really makes a big difference and brightens up the whole room!

Obsessed! I've been working on my rental laundry room and this is goals! I love it! I think I noticed your one washer or dryer door opens with the hinge on the left. You might already know but usually you can swap those to the other side so it's easier for you to get in there with your laundry basket!

I don't know why I love laundry room makeovers so much, but this one is absolutely stunning! I enjoy doing laundry anyway, but this would make me want to do all the neighbor's laundry as well!!!

This turned out so fictional and beautiful. Maybe put some solar powered twinkled lights in a jar near the window for a soft evening glow. The light pouring in through that window should be more than enough to power one.

They sell u-shaped brackets to screw into the wall for the tension rod to sit on, making the drying rack more sturdy.

I love this I would have picked the same color or paint it’s a great neutral color. As for the lamp I would have done the TikTok puck light to have light without power. This looks fantastic I really want to update my laundry room space now!

This looks amazing! I'm curious if you would undo all of your painting, screwed in items, and especially the countertop items and cabinetry you changed when you eventually move out. I'm very impressed you wanted to put this much change into a rental, because usually my desire to spruce up a place I'm living in temporarily is zero to none haha

I'm not sure if this was mentioned but you can flip your washer and dryers doors so they are out of your way when transferring laundry from washer to dryer. This room is so much brighter and welcoming.

I like what you did in the laundry room. However, I shuttered when you lit that candle so close to the draperies. You may want to reconsider and move the candle away from the draperies.

At first I thought, what a lot of fuss over a laundry room. But I see now how enormously you've improved that space and made it a propper and nice room that works in your house. Great job. Only wonder if the handles of the cabinets could damage the paintings when you have to fully open the left doors. Hope it doesn't, as the art really is the finishing touch.
We just did our laundry room this week as well. Everything is so crisp and clean looking ( as it should be☺️) I've never been so excited about that particular room.

So lovely! Wish my laundry room looked like this! The only the thing I would've done differently is instead of having two paintings on that wall, I would've installed a drying rack that stores away when unused. Then I would have placed the smaller painting between the new cabinets and window. Either way, it's still functional which I'm here for! 😊🥰

I thought you would make a custom wooden countertop for the WD. Feels odd that it doesn’t cover the tops completely. But the room looks so much better, I’ll never understand why people cover up windows!

Gorgeous room ... makes it soo much easier to do laundry, etc. when space is beautiful and refreshing. One suggestion I have would be to mount plywood instead of the Ctop because it would completely cover the W/D (edges could be rounded/sanded). It could be painted white or stained. Too bad they don’t make the W/D counter depth! LOL

Everyone should be so fortunate to have a landlord like yours. I am beyond gobsmacked. I hope you tell your landlord about all the positive comments here. You did a fantastic job as usual. Your mother has so many talents, she is incredible. I am definitely going to go and look at the artwork. I am going to gush, she just knocked my socks off with the still life. I adore French country. Clean colors with accents of black and gold. YES! I can hardly wait for you to start decorating your cottage.
Maybe I missed it in the video but did you do something to the marble to make it white? Or did you switch it out for a plain white countertop? PS. Love this makeover and your channel! I missed these veteran classic makeover videos but loving the new home Reno content!

In the event of a problem with the washer, is there an emergency water shut-off on it or would you have to pull out the unit to get behind it (and under the newly-installed countertop)? With the breaker box nearby, at least you could kill the power to either appliance. Could you drill a hole near the back of the counter, large enough to access a short extension cord from the outlet used by the w/d to allow for a lamp? Candles, think flameless.
The paintings your mom made are just a treasure. It was fun to see her for a moment. The room looks perfect and the video was fun to watch.

You could make a custom industrial hanging rod using pipes that extends from the top of the cabinet over the window so you can properly mount it!
