What's hilarious is Atari walked in and was like, "Yo, Intellivision! We will take everything ya got! ....Errr. Actually you can put that Amico thing back. We don't want that. Eh, we may make some games for it down the line but yeah...you can keep that." 😂
Would love to see an IntelliVision+ console! Would also love to see Atari put out quality IntelliVision physical cartridges/box/manual/overlay, particularly homebrews!
i know some people are not going to like this news think this is bad news i think that's fine but for me don't get me wrong i do feel bad for intellviison fans but at the sametime there has always been apart of me that i always wish that atari acquire intellivison or did parpership with intellvision i ask atari do to this i'm excited about this i think this is great news to me that's just my honest opinion but i respect if some are ok with this news and some are not ok with this news
Thanks for breaking news. Interesting info, could either be the death nail for Amico or just the thing to getting it released in full physical console glory.
yep, that is what I read into from the letter... and knowing the words about "value" from the brand. The console could pull it off now, as the big 3 are still missing out on the simple stuff.. Amico could be ours a lot faster than we know...
@@ThomwoththeWeather You're delusional if you think the console is ever coming out. The Amico is still one of if not the most poorly managed console in video game history. It'll never be a success let alone be enough of a success to compete with the big 3.
I was just watching several of the George Plimpton Intellivision comercials the other day (where George is directly comparing Atari with Intellivision and making Atari look horrid in comparison) along with some George Plimpton mini documentaries (he was an investigative reporter who tried every professional sport and loved to hang out at the Playboy mansion... A LOT...) and Atari's direct response to the George Plimpton Intellivision commercials (see the Atari 2600 version of the Real Sports Baseball commercial with baseball manager Billy Martin, who was defending Atari, taking a verbal shot at George Plimpton and the Intellivision), so it's really weird to see in the modern age Atari buying Intellivision. Reminds me of WWE buying WCW or DC comics buying Charlton comics (Charlton had characters like Peace Maker, Blue Beatle, etc, etc, and when DC bought them they included them into their huge DC comics Crisis on Infinite Earths event during 1985 / 1986). It's weird when you see former rivals joining together. However, At the same time, the Atari / Intellivision union will be good from a financial standpoint, resulting in more modern Amico games, classic Intellivision products, maybe even the release of the Amico console (one cool idea they can do would be similar to the modern Atari 2600 + that Atari recently released which is smaller than an old school Atari 2600 and it plays both 2600 and 7800 cartridges. Imagine they release the Amico console which has a cartridge slot for old school Intellivision cartridges but also plays the modern 2020's Amico games like the Amico versions of AstroSmash, Shark Shark, etc, etc, and all of it, both the old school Intellivision games and the modern Amico games, can be played using the modern Amico controller. That would be pretty sweet).
still talking about the console it there... I feel that is the key still, the controller mainly but the console was just a docking base really anyway.. I would love to just have the controller and the games... and on a console, not a phone...
They say the Blue Sky Rangers (AKA Intellivision Productions IIRC) have the Amico. Do they have intention to release? Do they have $, or $ from this deal to release? We'll see.
There was a reason Phil left "Intellivision" out of the last email, he he ha ha. I hope Atari does give distinction to a category called "Intellivision Games", or similar, instead of homogenizing them into a big pool of simply more "Atari games". But, I'm most curious about Blue Sky Rangers (aka?Intellivision Productions) owning Amico. It is arguably true that BSR have been forever the heart and soul of Intellivision.
Well amico is out of stuff to sell off now. Guess we can stop pretending this is gonna happen and move on.

lol of course ,Why would you want to buy something with nothing but debt?
Blue Sky Rangers got Amico now. SUPER CURIOUS what is up with that.
Just like that. Amico is definitely going to be scrapped.
Yeah, Amico was scrapped like two years ago.
So Tommy's dream is done?
his legacy will live on forever (he created earthworm jim)
Hottt NEWS! Thanks my man!

This is all setting up AmicoFest 2 this summer... then the Amico Instrumentality Project.
I hope it works out for them. It's good to see "rivals" working their differences out.
So it would be interesting to hear your thoughts and feelings on this and what you think it means for amico!
very soon
