    Thank you for the video! I have a specific question regarding transfer, did you have to take Lab-course before you transfer? Thank you!

    How long did it take you to finish the entire app for USC? (How far back did you start on it from the deadline? How much time would you recommend someone to start brainstorming/writing?) Also, I’ve seen many videos online where there are services students go to and pay for former admissions officers to review and revise their essays/apps with them. I don’t know if I can afford it though. Did you go to any of their places for help with your app? If so, do you know any free/affordable places where I can get help with putting together my essays?
    Sorry, I know this is a really long series of questions but I’m also a first-gen looking to transfer from a CC to USC!

    How much weight do highschool coursework and ecs have? If I had a high GPA and many ecs would that benefit my chances of transferring?

    Hi, sorry if this is a dumb question but I am a little confused. I am currently at community college and have just started my second quarter(January 2024). However, the application deadline is February 15, 2024. So would I have to apply by that deadline, or wait until next year to apply if I want to transfer as a sophomore. If I have to apply now, would they look at my college grades throughout the year or no? Sorry if it's kind of a long question.

    Hi Cheyenne! I currently am entering my third year of community college but looking to start the application process in Fall 2022 to be admitted in Fall 2023. As a Biology major, typically it takes 5 years to complete, so I may need an extra year or half year. I wanted to detail something, however...I am a Phi Theta Kappa and Beta Epsilon Beta Honor Society student that balances full-time college courses as well as a job. For transfer, would it be important to mention these things? Should I include any high school extracurriculars such as Band/Choir/International Choir Tours? Let me know. Thank you :)

      @CheyenneTrac  Před rokem

      I would include your current involvements, I think that would be a great addition - as for high school involvement, I don't think it's necessary!

    How did you make your application competitive without any extracurriculars? Was your part time job related to your major?

    • @CheyenneTrac
      @CheyenneTrac  Před rokem +2

      I made the focus of my application about my readiness and demonstrated I knew what I wanted to do if I were to transfer. My part time job was in customer service, so the skills fit pretty well in a lot of areas!

    hi! i’m a freshman at a uc looking to transfer for the fall of 2022! i just had a question on the transfer common app - did you list your high school extracurriculars and achievements? or did you just talk about what you did at community college? thanks so much! this video was so helpful

    Did you select a major once you’ve gotten accepted ? Or was it something available already in the common app? Sorry if it’s a dumb question 😅

    • @CheyenneTrac
      @CheyenneTrac  Před 2 lety +1

      You can select your major as you apply, or you can apply undeclared and select your major later - whichever one suits your goals!

    at cc were you able to make any new friends or was it more of just sticking with old high school friends that stayed in the area?

    • @CheyenneTrac
      @CheyenneTrac  Před 3 lety +4

      there’s def opportunities to meet new friends especially in class which is where i met most of mine, but other than that i didn’t go out of my way to attend on campus events bc i wasn’t really looking to get involved. nonetheless, you’ll make new connections if you do want to get involved and thru your classes of course!

    does sat matter when transferring? do you think it’s important to include scores for ucs? is it okay if we don’t take the sat?

    • @siamara1180
      @siamara1180 Před 3 lety +1

      you only need to turn in your SAT/ACT results if you have less than 30 transferable credits

    • @CheyenneTrac
      @CheyenneTrac  Před 3 lety +2

      in my experience, you either submit your high school gpa or sat/act score if you are below the unit minimum

    Hi! I’m looking to apply to a UC this cycle and was wondering how you made your application stand out with no extracurriculars in community college? I know you applied to USC thru the common app but I believe there is also a extracurricular section in that app as well. I am in a similar situation and have felt discouraged because of this so it is great to see a transfer student like yourself get into USC despite this. Thank you for this video!

    • @CheyenneTrac
      @CheyenneTrac  Před rokem

      I made the focus of my application about my readiness and demonstrated I knew what I wanted to do if I were to transfer! If there is anything you do outside of school, you can touch on that as well. This could be a hobby, interest, or part time job.
