@1:48 The SR-71 Blackbird, in high-speed flight, would significantly distort because the the top skin and frame of the fuselage would get much hotter than the bottom, because the bottom had fuel against it and the top had inert nitrogen in the tank ullage space. This distortion changed the aerodynamics and radar signature in a way that was noticeable but was never reproduced in a wind tunnel. Kelly Johnson passed on before he got his wish to test this effect.

Yknow... You did more of convincing me to get this just to see aerodynamics of a cow than you did at convincing me that this program might even be vaguely possible of replacing real-world testing. Supplementary support, for sure, so we can understand more of why things happen when we discover what oddities occur to airframes. But not removing the physical testing of flight envelopes.
Finally I can simulate the aerodynamics of a cow in icing conditions

Is it better than ANSYS Fluent?
This solution is Lattice Boltzmann based which supposed to capture the turbulence and unsteady flow better than Fluent

I'm also using lattice Boltzmann in my FluidX3D software, but implemented on GPU at peak efficiency. It's about 100x faster than CPU codes. See the videos on my YT channel :)

Yes, look up solidworks cfd rotating body, you basically make a shape that outlines your moving part and the dassault software has input tools to allow for surface interaction.
@@awsemo1000 I've been trying to figure out how to do this for months tbh. Can you help me with this? I'm trying to simulate a turbofan engine, yet the fluid simulation somehow doesn't have a rotation option
@@AbiRizky You're using Solidworks CFD flow package correct? Otherwise not sure how it works on other programs. On CFD wizard setup (page where you select external/internal flow) there should be an option to select rotating region otherwise it won't show up on the input side as a parameter.
@@awsemo1000 Does the 3D model affect whether or not the option appears? Because I do know how to activate it in the wizard, I just don't have the option
@@AbiRizky It's been a while since I've done it but from what I remember I had an external flow and had to first make a body that the "flow" would be contained in that matched the dimensions of the assembly, and it is that new shape which you set to rotate, not the part you want to see the effects of flow on (sounds opposite from what you might think).

@Blake Belladonna Cool name my son is called Blake.. well that a false economy you won't have to rebuild a virtual model if you crash it .... $500 dollars is cheap i spent £750 on Zbrush few years back.... I am not rich either my pc broke a year ago and cannot afford to replace it. But 500 is cheap really

Why would you want to avoid Physical testing? Isn't that more accurate representation of what's happening?
Hi, because physical testing is much more expensive. With virtual testing you can predict what is the best solution and then test that one in a real physical test.

@@GewelReal Yeah, no. Simulations are only as good as the data you give the computer and those data have widely varying accuracies.
@@GewelReal no it's not, have you ever performed CFD analysis and tried to replicate those results in a wind tunnel? It's kinda really hard even with really simple conditions
