Books like Piranesi where the setting/building makes no sense are like catnip to me! Others I’ve loved are Slade House, Catherine House, The Hollow Places and House of Leaves 🤪😁 .
I loved The Hollow Places!
@@mothmallow Its levels of ‘WTF is happening’ were deliciously high 😆.
The Library at Mount Char is by far the weirdest and craziest book I’ve ever read lol. I loved it.
I see many people recommending this book. Can you please me if has romance or s xual as ault or something? I avoid those kinda books.
Piranesi is the best book I've ever read! This is one of my favourite books!!💕😍
How can you go from "best book I've ever read" to then delegate it to "one of my favourite books".
You either love it above anything else or you don't.
I loved Bunny and Piranesi! I would add “The Library at Mount Char” and “Lonely Castle in the Mirror “ as super weird but solid reads 😊
Loved this list! I've heard about many of these books before, but hearing you talk about them again made me finally add them to my want-to-read and wishlists!
i dont think i have ever been as puzzled and touched by a book as I was when I read piranesi. I will always recommend it (and yet also always struggle to recommend it cuz how the hell do you explain that book to someone?!?!)
Thank you for introducing me to urban fantasy, I'm actually a thriller reader but used to love watching your videos since 2020 and now I'm obsessed with the fantasy genre. Currently reading Jade war. Thank you Raegan, love from India ❤
What are your top thriller recommendations! I’m super intrigued to hear from a thriller reader 👀
@@emc_4987 ofcourse! Daisy Darker, Good daughter by Karin Slaughter, The Maidens, Home before Dark by Riley Sager, The book of cold cases by Simone St James, The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley, The Guest List by Lucy Foley, Local woman missing by Mary Kubica..... Sorry if I overwhelmed you with too many recs
@@aksh5523 no such thing as too many recs!
@@aksh5523 thank you so much for your recommendations ☺️
@@emc_4987 you're welcome 😊
Piranesi!!! such an incredible book i could not put it down the whole way through 🥰
Il recomend Vita Nostra ! It blew my mind like a book never did ! A mix of dark academia and a very New Magic system 🤯
I LOVE WEIRD BOOKS! THANK YOU!! ❤❤ Give us more recs when you have them!!
Love this video concept!!
I love almost all these books!! Would like to recommend Vita Nostra by Marina Dyachenko, The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins, Ghost Music by An Yu and most of Jeff Vandermeers work.
Wooooah, I have not been here in a hot minute (life has been so busy and had no time for CZcams) but have been watching you since 2016. You are looking AMAZING! I love that cardigan and you are glowing. You look so beautiful.
Gosh I adored Piranesi! I thought I was going to hate it, but loved it absolutely! I am so scared tho to get to The Books of Babel!
I absolutely loved When Women Were Dragons! I'm glad to see you feature it here, as I feel it's a marvelous book that's been inexplicably overlooked both with readers and with book prizes.
I loved Bunny. Im reading Mrs Death Misses Death in April ♡
You had me at "This book feels like an absolute fever dream" - that's my jam
Weird books are my jam!
More than 250 books later, Piranesi remains my top read since I’ve rekindled with reading during the pandemic. Such a brilliant book!
Read 3 of these so added the others to my TBR. When women were dragons, Piranesi and Senlin Ascends were all great and weird.
Bunny and Piranesi were a couple of my favorite books I read last year! Weird books are often my favorite because they make me motivated to read and figure out what's going on as fast as possible lol
Read Lapnova by Otessa. Lol craziest book I’ve ever read!!!!! More crazy than her other books
One of the craziest book I've read is definitive harrow the ninth and i loved it. I'm also an huge fan of the bone orchard.
One of my all-time favourite "weird" books are Qualityland by Marc-Uwe Kling and The Time of My Life by Cecelia Ahern. Other books in this category that I've enjoyed are American Hippo by Sarah Perry, and All the Names by José Saramago. If you want to go the Manga route I recommend My Roomie Is A Dino series by Moriko Mori
I really need to read my copy of bunny!
I actually loved When Women were Dragons. It’s written like a Belva Plain family drama, but the dragons add some spice.
Another weird one is The Library at Mount Char. I loved it; it was gory, quirky, violent and off-kilter.
love love love
Oh Regan I love weird books! Piranesi is one of my favorites!
My favorite weird book is: Perdido Street Station by China Mieville. The genre is literally called new weird. And it’s a steampunk urban fantasy! He also has a shorter standalone dystopian novel the City and the City.
Also reading weird book just right now and that’s The Gray House by Mariam Petrosyan and I love it so much!
I love "Piranesi" so I'll definetelly try these. My recommendation is "Tainaron: Mail from Another City" by Leena Krohn.
"mass dragoning"? I am intrigued.
THIS is how you advertise casetify. I can’t believe you just threw your phone 😂
I love bizarre books, esp with a morbid twist. I just read Mother Thing and thought it was great! How would you feel if you were being haunted and pursued by your horrible dead mother in law?
I just finished The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida and loved it. It’s magical realism, political satire with a thriller mixed in. Weird but funny!
I released a breath I didn’t know I was holding when you picked back up your phone from dropping it on the floor - girlllll you crazy??
All the Animals of Earth by Mark Sampson; It's a weird book where about half of the animals around the world start turning into humans.
Piranesi one of my favorite books and absolutely weird and cool and i read it is was awesome xoxo 😘 💔💓📚🖤🌷🌷🌻📙🌻🌷🌷🌻📙📙📚📚🌼💛💚💚🌷🌻🌷🌻📚📚📚🖤🌼💓📖📖📖💘❤️💐💕💝💗💗💝🧡❤️🩹❤️🩹💔💞💛🌷🌻🌻📙📙📚📚📚💓📖💘💘💗💝🌹💕💞💞💚🌷🌻📙📙🌷🖤📚📚💓🤎❤️🩹
Although it is not a novel ,I read recently a short story which terryfied me as no one has done in a long time:"The Old Portrait" by Hume Nisbet.
oh bunny 🐰 😂❤
I really liked your channel.
Ive been looking at piranesi a while.
Lapnova by Otessa and Bunny by Mona awad. Such weird shit but I definitely laughed and enjoyed bunny for it’s bizarre sorority girls. Lapnova was a little too cray cray 😂
You definitely should check out the dark tower series by Stephen king it's weird but so great 🤔
I agree with this. There are A LOT of other books, stories and authors referenced in this series too. This series is one his best. I really recommend it Regan!
With your recommendation I tried to read Mrs Death Misses Death… but I just couldn’t do it. It felt winding in a… boring way. I wanted so badly to love it, but ended up selling it to the used book store in hopes that someone else has a better experience 😢
Weird!! I'm all ears!! 😃
Vita Nostra by Marina Dyachenko is very odd, I would recommend the audio, it was amazing but very very odd.
Maybe I need to try Piranesi again. I kept falling asleep, DNF around 80 pages. everyone says it's amazing, so maybe it deserves another chance.
Once you read Sorrowland, you will add that book to this list!
I think one of the strangest books I've read is Mrs. Caliban. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but I did force my friend to read it so I could talk about it with someone.
Wonderful review! Yours should be on he book's cover.
I love castify🎉
wow new buzzphrase for me, I guess. "mass dragoning"
I have to subscribe to anyone who recommends bunny lol. Have found my people
Any Haruki Murakami?
Unfortunately I didn't enjoy the bone orchard
Southern Reach Trilogy by Jeff VanderMeer.
Short story: In the Penal Colony by Franz Kafka.
Oh yeah Kafka is wonderful!
Senlin Ascends is not cozy lol
Could you please hold books closer to camera and also your fingers are covering names.
I cant. Every time I see a casetify app I gotta comment. They cases fall apart after months.

Weird book recommendation: unlikely animals by Annie hartnett-very strange mixture of real historical artifacts with a touch of magic 🪄
I loved both of Annie Hartnetts books. Great suggestion.
BEST RECOMMENDATIONS Regan! Love them all so much xoxo 😘 💐🌞💚🌼💙📙📙📚📚💚💚💙🌷❤️💕🌻🌻🌞💝💐🌞💞💞💜💛🧡🖤💗🤍❣️❤️🩹🤎💔💘❤️🩹💞💞💚🌼💙📖📚📙📙📚💚🌼🌷🌻💛💛🤎💔💓🖤🌻🌻🌻🖤🌷🌷📚📙📙
