  • Topicals Faded discolouration and hyperpigmentation treatment review, is this the best hyperpigmentation treatment for your SKINCARE ROUTINE
    Hey guys and welcome back to Mad About Skin where todays video is all about the Topicals Faded discolouration serum and putting it to the test to see if it really is the best hyperpigmentation treatment.
    Topicals Faded serum has been subject to unprecedented hype online in the past 12 months with people claiming the powerful ingredients have transformed their skin, treated hyperpigmentation and tackled dark spots.. as a cruelty free brand with a drugstore price tag its worth a topicals faded review to see if there is a place for it in your own skin care routine.
    Whether you are looking to treat PIH ( post inflammatory hyperpigmentation ) or PIE ( post inflammatory erythema ) this is a serum which could help your skincare journey.
    Topicals Faded combines a whole host of active ingredients which include the following:
    Azelaic Acid - prevents free radical damage and calms and soothe to prevent stress triggered hyperpigmentation. Also reduces melanin production in melanocytes
    Tranexamic Acid - calms melanocyte melanin production when in overdrive
    Niacinamide - anti-inflammatory and antioxidant which also disrupts the transfer for pigment in the skin to prevent pooling and dark spots
    Kojic Acid - Mild exfoliator which also inhibits melanocytes which create pigment in the skin
    Liquorice Root - Botanical extract which surpasses pigment production
    I would love to know what your experiences have been with this product and your own hyperpigmentation journey so please leave me a comment below.

    Great review Rob! The hype around Faded is real and entirely worth it. It genuinely works really well to clear up dark spots and stubborn hyperpigmentation like melasma. Of course, one product isn't going to do everything and other actives like retinol and exfoliation are key but this is truly an amazing formulation.

      @@sharen75it says on the box that it should not be used on the same night as tretinoin. Might be that some of the ingredients will not work well together? Tretinoin can cause that. I just started using it yesterday so nothing to report, but I will be skipping this one on the nights when I use tret- I only use it 3 times a week ( tret) so I think the balance might be good😊. Or I hope so as I am fighting melasma which showed up to play unexpected

    • @kellyc3897
      @kellyc3897 Před 10 měsíci +1

      @sharen75 Yes, it can be used alongside Tret, although you may want to use Faded for a week or two on its own just to see how your skin adjusts and check for any sensitivity. But I had no problem combining it with Tret from my personal experience.

    It works on my teen who has acne and oily skin with hyperpigmentation. I decided to observe one spot that was popped last Wednesday to see how much it could work on fading. Within 7 days it’s faded considerably. So a freshly popped pimple would be 10/10. Next day could be 9-9.5/10. Within 7 days 5/10. It takes longer from that point on. Today is Sunday so about 11 days and the rating would be about 3/10. So I’m very pleased with its effectiveness. Warning: it can irritate sensitive skin. My teen can’t use it if she’s been using tretinoin day after day. She has very sensitive skin, so we either skip tret or faded depending on how she’s feeling.

I use a variety of products including Facetheory's azelaic acid, exaclear, PTR's Discoloration Serum, tretinoin .05, and Niod's RE: Pigment. I also use musely's m+ which includes hydroquinone. Anyway, I use this 3-4 times a week. The texture is lovely. It soaks right in. Yes...it smells like sulfur, but sulfur is awesome for my acne prone skin. I noticed a notch up in my skin brightness after 2-3 weeks. I will keep buying it (and the azelaic acid from Facetheory and Re:pigment) as long as I can find it.

    Maybe best to use when your skin is not inflamed with a lot of active acne or make sure you are using a gentle chemical exfoliate in conjunction to reduced risk of further acne. Otherwise a vicious cycle will ensue

    Excellent review but I am confused about the concentrations for the active ingredients. No BS beauty did a review on this one and she said lower concentrations. Azelaic acid 1%, niacinamide 4%, tranaxemic acid 3.5 % now wondering g which one is correct. Hopefully Rob is !

    I am using this product now and was using Peter Thomas Roth’s Pro Strength Niacinamide Discoloration Treatment to deal with melasma. The ingredients are the same but they’re significantly different price points. I haven’t seen an improvement with either products but I think I need to give it more time.

    • @jenehmcke8427
      @jenehmcke8427 Před 2 lety +2

      I've used both and I feel like they work for PIH, and maybe sun spots, but not melasma. I say this because I use musely's m+ spot treatment and when people take their hydroquinone break (something you have to do after using hydroquinone after a certain number of months) most of the people see some return of melasma while on the break using just PTR. A lot of those same people had some success when adding 15-20% Azelaic acid. Melasma is a lifetime condition. In order to reduce it and keep it at bay, you first must figure out what triggers it. Good luck and take care.
