I've been working on this project for around a year now, and I'm finally ready to reveal it! Its an Action RPG + Turn Based Party RPG that I'm making with the Unity game engine, heavily inspired by games like Deltarune, Omori, and Archvale. I'm super excited to get to work on this game and to share my progress over the next few years.

I love RPG's!
It is my dream to make one with indy devs in the future.
Design Philosophies for my current game are:
1. Story & Atmosphere are the most important thing.
2. Make the game playable as soon as possible.(Seeing art & assets in-game is super motivating)
3. Make it simple as possible(add all the cool Feature creep stuff later)
Bonus: The game must have secrets or easter eggs
so far this looks really awesome!! being a huge fan of pixel art i think you should stick with that style and i think the 2.5 D was awesome it really helps games stand out BUT top down is good too! keep up the awesome work i’d love to hear about the story and lore of your world

I saw a lot of devlogs about top down action rpg, but your mix with turn based combat seems like a nice twist on it.

You should make a turn based combat system just like Deltarune to fit the style of Action Rpg and still be turn base combat, or not brake the pacing

As a game designer and programmer, I LOVE your videos. Hopefully one day we would get to work together ❤️. Also if you are looking for an artist for hand drawn 2D work, I can recommend an amazing one. 👏

Will the turn based combat and real time combat be separated or will it work like VATS in fallout??
During real time you could have an AP bar that fills up for each character that allows you to move around and use moves on the real time combat. This would allow you to effectively freeze the game, move your party around in 3 different spaces, defend, and attack by relying on chance and your AP instead of your reflexes if things get too intense for you
While I considered a system similar to that at first, I right now I’m working on making a system that is similar to Undertale, where you have a battle / bullet hell phase where the enemy attacks, and then a phase where you can use actions. The only real difference in between mine and Undertale is that in mine, you also attack during the enemy attack / bullet hell phase
