I hear you. If you're going to ride on the highway, at high speeds, I would use a full-face helmet. I just got a new Schuberth and it's night and day for riding on the freeway.
Great bike I love my fls. If your looking to get this bike model you will run into issues with passenger pegs being right on the pipes in most cases so be prepare to relocate or burn a foot. Waiting on kit to relocate as I write and new seat so passenger is as comfortable as me for longer rides

I have the 2014 Fls Softail Slim, i was kinda speeding around 50 and leaned to the left to change lanes when the handle bars did the Mombo on me.. I tried to control it and slow it down but the only thing that slowed me down to where i was able to control it was side swiping a SUV. Luckily i was wearing awesome riding boots that saved my foot but my floorboard was trashed. I was lucky. Im still monitoring the bike to see what went wrong (the Mombo) but i also know i should have been riding normally and not leaning into lane changes.
Damn bro, sorry to hear that. Maybe something with the brakes or the alignment / tire balancing? Also could have been a tiny oil or wet patch on the road right when you leaned.
Just bought this bike. Only 1,900 miles on it, and I love it!!

yes, I agree about the windshield. But that would hurt the looks. I ordered some glasses that I hope will help

Just bought the bike, can you let me know what kit you ordered? Much appreciated....I've seen come guys put the pegs on the seat bolts but seems high.
