America, you inspire people all around the world without leaving your room. I think that is a great blessing and a great gift you have. God has a purpose for everyone and yours happens to be inspiring others all around. Being a med student can be hard, tiring, and most of all a struggle. It takes a lot for someone to be as busy as you but still find time for others. It shows how pure and caring ones heart is. This is also what makes a great Doctor. To us you are already one because we come to your channel when unmotivated and broken, and you heal us by inspiration. When I was praying, I got found this quote: "What if everything you go through is preparing you for what you asked for?". I just thought this would change the way you think like it did to me. America, there is probably no way you would read this but thanks for being you. Sometimes that all one can do in this world filled with greed and selfishness.. yourself and that's enough.

I agree, I thought I was the only one that missed "learning/being taught", having to teach yourself seems to he the most frustrating part of residency. It doesn't make sense to me, I always thought the main purpose of residency is to learn

I really loved that you practice gratitude!! As a Muslim I always do it. I practice gratitude and always remind myself about the protection, family, and other blessings that Allah have surrounded me with. 🌸 Also I like being thankful for people around me and for their support throughout my journey in life. Gratitude actually always let me think about Allah and the life he have gave me in a better way, and helps manage any negative thoughts and depression that I might face (especially as a med student you know the struggle )
P.s. And a very beautiful quote from the holy Quran which is a great motivation for me as a medical student and all of you is this Aya:

Translation: Because of this (incident) We laid down for the Children of Israel that he who kills a human being - unless it be for (murdering) a person or for (reforming) disorder in the country, it is as if he has killed entire human race. And whoso saves a (human) life it is as if he has saved the entire mankind. Certainly, Our Messengers had already come to them with clear arguments, yet (even after that) many of them were certainly those who committed excesses in the land.
The thing I want to highlight here is: "And whoso saves a (human) life it is as if he has saved the entire mankind"! Imagine how much impact you are causing by saving only one life! And imagine how much Allah will reward you for it.

So thankful that you're back! I'm going into the world of law and I've only been out of undergrad for 2 years now and I miss lecture so much... I thought I would be the only one hehe. It's really making me think that if I land this job as a paralegal i'm going to go back and get my law degree.

Here in Brazil med school is 6 years. I was supposed to be in my 5th year but I fell behind two years because of my mental health (7 suicide attempts and 5 psych hospitalizations) and now I'm back to third year. I feel so exhausted and unmotivated. I've been watching you since the beginning and my graduation is so so far away good Lord *cries in a corner*

Hi America....welcome back!!! Take it as advice from a polyglot friend. Duolingo doesn't work! And neither does Babbel or Busuu, unless you use a book such as Assimil as well. What I find most useful is listening to podcasts created to teach you spanish: Notes in spanish is real nice, Linguaphone(not really a podcast, but still) is awesome. Kisses from a first year medstudent!💖💖💖💖
