Point is she's the main focus. Picard was main focus. So didn't matte the actual few times others solved. a problem it was mostly HIS orders that led to it.
Of course others did it. But who's getting shine?
Capt picard for being such a great Capt who orders a great crew.
      That's just understanding.
From there you just got to sit he very VERY basic action if understanding the dynamics.
Picard was on a ship and the whole show was episodic. Each episode meant to teach a lesson. Made in a time where we honestly needed fthoselessons cause of the era we were in.
Discovery is made in a time where traveling to Japan to learn about their culture isn't as exciting because we..WE..tou and I...have that information ready. Or have met enough in our own real life. Or can easily get on this site and look up anything. As well as a dating site and talk to any of them..INSTANTLY.
So exploring strange new world isn't going to resonate with us well..time to explore more things. Ourselves. Individuals. People. Working together. Unity. Community. Species relations. Especially with those you wirl closer with.
So we still have a main character that will need to be worth being the main character. Focus will be on them.

Idk what your problem is. I'm 35. Started watching TNG in like 92. Have been a fan ever since.
I remember all the way through voyager and enterprise that I wanted more personal stories. People didn't speak normally. What with explaining what they meant a lot. Or things got shrugged off in the very next episode. Having no impact.
While I enjoyed the show, I still wanted more impact from the choices...lime real life does.
Having joined marines directly out of highschool..I've seen ALL , in way of mannerisms, that star trek has ever shown even up to now..which is FAR more in tune with in what I actually believe the older shows wanted to do, but main stream audiences weren't ready for.
There will be conflict even between ranks. I know. I was almost twice and was actually demoted once.
There will be disobedience in the name of doing the right thing. Had I and a few others unfollowed our mstsgt on a patrol..his orders that is, we'd all be fucking dead. Instead we, being the most experienced in that route at the time, ordered others to follow us. And here I am typing this, having survived what was an ambush, but we got the upper hand.
There will. Be crying and emotions as people get fucked up after losing members. I had to stop my patrol to calm down another marine who lost his partner. They'd been there at least 4months before I was there. In my 3ed month walking the perimeter I heard a noise and investigated. And this marine was broken down. Tear in my eyes now as I remember not knowing what to do and trying to make sure he didn't reach a point of suicide. Which another marine I did survived with, ended up doing. A bullshit Facebook message from his mother noted me and a few others of that. Anf I'm still angry with him.
What we saw in TNG were people in a position it's how civilians look at enlisted people.
What we see in Discovery are the actual people beyond their positions. It's what you see working close together every day. Living your life in the same vicinity but from different backgrounds yet having to work together and yet still in different positions.
It's allccomplicated and full of emotions.
      Discovery is going great.
It's like star trek grew up with me.
Tng and forward. With its childish storytelling.
Problem, solution, the end. Next book. All of 5 pages with big words to easily get to the end.
DS9 played with some serious stuff, and I hated it when I was younger. But I rewatched it recently and I can appreciate it.even though I still hold some nostalgic hate lol.
Discovery is like a young adult book. All the fun of the kids stories but on chapters where you get more details and learn more about the people..and it's all connected. Or adult novel..as it has all of that, plus the ideas that we adults understand should be fleshed out and it touches on that.

@@mongoslade5248 if you're only into seeing what YOU are into, then you're not only missing the point I already mentioned, you're pretty much ignorant to the entire show.
Lots of people aren't into women, you want them to stop showing any of them?

This is not only the worst Star Trek, but the worst show ever produced. If I was one of the writers, I would have kms already.

Adira is just acting like a scared little girl. She can't face the past because it's too painful for her.
She's a representation of what weak-willed boys and girls go through.

Tentacles wriggle into everything these days, I bet in just a couple years or less we'll see a full fledged tentai scene in Star Trek, but Star Wars will beat them to it...

Was that the actress that was transgender?
The Trill have always been pan gender in Star Trek since introduction. Crusher had the hots for a male Trill that became female.
Dax, old man, was now a hot chick (and I mean hot) on DS9 to later become a Mary Ann sweet little girl next-door.
I pretty well ignore the oddities of actor lives. Takei was gay but Sulu wasn't necessarily. Half the men in drama are probably gay or bi.
A later found it funny that Rock Hudson was gay and Tony Randall was as straight as you could get, opposite of their portrayals in Doris Day flicks.
